Chapter 50: Chapter 50

I didn't notice that I have spent a few hours at Vera's and forgot that I still have to pack my things. It was a good meal with her family and I enjoyed it so much. I wished I would have the chance to come and visit here again. I liked the way life is here; peaceful and calm.

"I'll see you at the mansion later, okay?" Vera said when I told her that I needed to get back home and prepare my things for my departure later. I nodded and hugged her. I waved goodbye at her husband and their kids.

Vera walked me to their gate even though I told her not to. The mansion was just a few blocks away from their house. I went outside their house and waved goodbye to her. She waved back and I started running again. God! I only had like ten minutes of jog and that wasn't enough. I just sighed and decided to go to the gym once I get back to the city.

I was jogging slowly back to the mansion when I felt that someone was following me. I turned around but no one was there. I sighed and continued walking. Maybe I am just paranoid about my surroundings. I jogged again and was near the mansion already when I felt the same feeling again. Someone is really following me. I pretended like I felt nothing and then suddenly, I turned around just enough for whoever was behind me to be exposed. I was right. Someone was there. I thought that I was going to backlash at the person but I rolled my eyes when I saw Wade. What is he still doing out here? I turned my back on him and continued jogging. It's still early in the morning yet he's already pissing me off. I jogged faster that it was almost turning into a running marathon.

"Hey, wait up!" He said as he tried to catch up on me. I heard his voice near me."Cami!"

"Stop following me!" I said. "What are you even doing here?"

"Will you stop and hear me out? Please, let's talk calmly." He said. Calmly? Did he really expect me to put up with his lies again? No! Never again will I fall into your charm, Wade! I thought to myself.

"Stop following me!" I said. "I am not in the mood to talk to you right now. I have more important things to do."

"Like what?" He said and he was already beside me. Wow, he was fast.

"Like packing for my things," I said as I stopped and looked at him. God! Even in the morning with the heat of the sun, he's still as handsome as ever while I felt like I looked like trash with all the sweats on. And why do I even have to think of that? It doesn't matter to me whether he's handsome or not! I don't care about him anymore; I should always put that in mind.

"So, you're going home already?" He said. I don't know if it was just my imagination or I really heard the excitement in his voice. I think it was the first one. Why would he be excited, right?

"That's none of your business anymore," I said. I stopped at the gate of the mansion and was about to open it when he moved in front of me. What the hell! Our faces were just inches away from each other.

"W-what are you doing?" I said. I couldn't breathe properly with him being this close to me. I felt the fast beating of my heart. What is going on? Shouldn't I be over these butterflies in my stomach?

"I know that you know that we need to talk before you get back home." He said. "We have to talk about our arrangements."

"What arrangements are you talking about?" I said. "Will you get off my face? I need to get inside."

"You are so stubborn!" He said and I could hear the amusement in his voice. "As always,"

"Aren't you describing yourself?" I said. "I told you to leave me alone yet here you are pestering me off."

I pushed the gate open that he almost lost his balance and was about to fall but then he had good reflexes so he just shrugged it off. I entered the gate and left him there but he said something that made me stop in my tracks.

"Mom, your mom, called me," He said and it was enough for me to stop on my tracks and faced him. Now he had my full attention. I waited for what he has to say but he just stared at me.

"What?" I said. "Are you just going to stare at me? What did Mom tell you?"

He smiled at me and then held his stomach. "Can we talk about that later?"

"What?! Why?" I said. Why did he even have to mention that and then leave me hanging?

"I'm starving." What the hell! He even wants me to die of curiosity! Didn't he eat his breakfast yet? What time is it already? Jeez, what is wrong with him?

"You're a rich man," I said. "Can't you buy your own food?"

"Can't you just be kind enough and offer me some?" He said. Hah! I knew it! He was just trying to stay and piss me off.

"And why would I do that?" I said with a raised brow.

"Hmm, how about you do that because we also need to talk about what your mom said?" He said and wiggled his brows.

"We can talk about that now, here," I said and crossed my arms together.

"Didn't you hear me, babe?" He said. "I said I'm starving. Do you want me to die?"

I gave him a sarcastic smile and then rolled my eyes. "First of all, don't call me babe; I'm not your babe. Second, you won't die just because you didn't have breakfast you know."

"You always have something to say," He said.

"And you always piss me off," I said.

I looked at the time on my watch and realized that it was almost eleven in the morning. Why the hell didn't he have breakfast? I sighed and looked at him. He looked a bit pale and I was scared that he might faint.

"Alright," I said. "But only this time, okay? Vera cooked earlier and I haven't eaten that yet since I had breakfast in their home. You can have it."

I saw his face lit up and his smile slowly appeared. "Really?"

"Why? Did you change your mind?" I said and raised my brow.

He vigorously shook his head and entered the gate. "Who said I changed my mind?" He said as he walked ahead of me and into the mansion. He's still a bit playful now. I sighed and followed him into the main door
