Chapter 12: Chapter 12
"What?!" I said. I think I am drunk. I am hearing things that are impossible for him to say.
"Come on, let's get you home. We have to get out of this place. It's not safe for you to be here in the first place." Wade said and he held my hand.
"What is wrong with you? I want to stay! Erin is still inside. I can't just leave her." I said. Erin is still inside and what kind of a friend I would be I leave her behind.
"I'll let my men handle her. We have to go now." He said and pulled me to get to the car.
"Stop! Why do you have me to always forbid me to do things? Can you just once stop and let me do my thing?" I said.
"In case it isn't clear to you, it's all for your safety. Did you know how worried I was when I found out that you went out alone?" He said.
"Why would you? I am pretty sure you will find me seeing that you put a tracking device on me. Was it my phone who gave them my location?" I said.
"Again, it was for your safety, okay? I always knew you were gonna do something as reckless as this!" He said.
"No! You are clearly invading my privacy! How could you?" I said. Now that I'm drunk I can say whatever I want and nothing can stop me.
"I don't care, okay? As long as it helps me keep you safe then I'll do it. No matter what it is. Do you understand?" He said.
"No! I don't! I feel like I'm a prisoner, okay? So how do you expect me to understand?"
My head is spinning right now from the drinks I had. I want to stay for Erin but I don't think I can still manage. I want to make a point to Wade that he is not the boss of me. He cannot just drag me out of here anytime he wants. I pulled my hand back so hard that I stumbled.
Wade caught me just in time so I wouldn't have to kiss the floor.
"Why are you here anyway? I thought you were with my dad." I said while laughing and pointing at him. "Are you just my imagination?"
"You're done for tonight. Let's go home." He said sternly.
"Why do you always tell me what to do? Is that your job as my husband? Wow, it sounds good, right? You are my husband." I said while touching his face.
"Yes, I am your husband and you are my responsibility so please just follow as I say." Oh, I am your responsibility huh.
"What are your other responsibilities as my husband? Does that include kissing? I really want to kiss you right now." I said and touched his lips. Oh, God! How can someone's lips be as attractive as his?
"Cami, you are drunk, come on." He was holding my hand and tried so hard to keep me in place.
"So what if I am? I'm still your wife whether I am drunk or not." I said while trying to kiss him.
"Hey, stop it, hey," He said and pushed gently. "Stop it or you're gonna regret it tomorrow."
"Why? Is there something wrong with me? Am I not attractive to you? Aren't you attracted to me, my husband?"
"You really shouldn't drink when you're like this when you're drunk. You should never drink alone." He said.
"Oh, are you scared I might kiss someone else? Don't worry; I am loyal. As I said, I am not gonna fool around while we're still married. Maybe, I'll do just that when we have divorced already." I said and it felt more like I was talking to myself.
"Not a chance." He said. "Now, can we please go?"
"No, not until I get Erin." I said while my eyes were closed.
"You really are a hard-headed woman." He said. "You couldn't even handle yourself and here you are thinking about her."
"Yes, I am, so let me just go and look for her. I'll be back in no time." I said and started walking towards the club. It's so hard to walk steadily.
I took almost three steps before I felt my body flew in the air. I screamed when Wade put me on his shoulders. He was carrying me like I'm a sack of rice on his shoulders.
"Hey, put me down. What are you doing? Put me down! I might fall. Hey!"
"Stay still so you won't. Stop struggling." He said.
"Easy for you to say you aren't in my place. Everything is spinning up here." I said.
"That is because you're too drunk. Just close your eyes." He said.
"Yeah, right," I said but still did as he said.
"I'll take you home now. I promise you I'll make sure that Erin gets home safe." He said as he walked to his car.
He put me in the backseat and seated next to me.
"Go now." He told the driver.
I was almost thrown to the ground when the car moved. Thank God Wade was there to put me in place.
"Be careful, will you?" He told the driver.
"I'm sorry sir."
"Are you okay?" He asked me.
I was leaning my head on my seat and closed my eyes. I felt like everyone around me was moving in circles. I didn't answer him and concentrated on making myself comfortable.
"You shouldn't have drunk too much. Look at you now, you can barely keep yourself." Wade said when he probably noticed that my head was falling every time the car pulls over on red lights.
"Why do you do this and rant about it? You can just leave me alone, you know. I don't need your judgments. I can take care of myself." I said. I felt the need to vomit so I covered my mouth with my hands.
"Stop the car now." Wade told the driver and he immediately pulled on the side of the road.
I hurriedly went out of the car and threw up on the side of the road. I was crouching on the pavement and letting everything out. I do not care anymore whether someone sees what I am doing.
I heard Wade behind me and he was rubbing my back. He held my hair and allowed me to do my thing.
"Where's the water? Hurry!" I heard him said.
He kept on rubbing my back and whispering words that I could no longer comprehend. We stayed in that position for a few minutes until I think I was done.
"Here drink some water," He said and gave me the bottled water. "Can you get up now?"
I nodded and tried to get up. He helped me and held my waist. My head hurts as bad as a minute passed by. Wade guided me back to the car and placed me on my seat.
We reached his house in just a few minutes. Wade opened the door for me and I tried getting out but I felt dizzy. He scooped me from the car seat and carried me to my bedroom.
I was closing my eyes the whole time that he was carrying me. I could hear him order everyone around.
"Logan, send a maid to her room right away."
I opened my eyes when he placed me on my bed. He was about to leave when I held his hand.
"Don't leave me."
