Chapter 11: Chapter 11
Present Time...
I am not gonna stay in the house and think about what Wade told me. I need to get out of here and get some air. How am I gonna do that when Wade's men are all over the place? Even the guards won't let me out and it's frustrating me. They won't let me out unless Wade tells them so I have a great plan. I called Erin, my best friend, and asked her to pick me up so we could have a night out. As expected, she agreed and she was more than willing to do it. I told her about my situation and that I am only escaping home.
I took a bath and slipped into the best party outfit that I have. I chose the black short dress with a low neckline and paired it with my black stiletto. I curled my natural black straight hair and sprayed some perfume. I took my purse and went out of my room. When the guards and Wade's men saw me approaching the gate, they became alert. It's starting to get dark and I know Wade is still having dinner with my father now which means he won't be answering any phone calls.
"Excuse ma'am, where are you going?" Logan, Wade's head of security, asked me.
"I am going out tonight." I said.
I turned to the guard and told him to open the gate. He was hesitant.
"I'm sorry ma'am but we are on strict order that you cannot leave the premises as of the moment." Logan said.
"Logan, do you want to lose your job?" I said. "Alright, I texted Wade and he allowed me to go out because I will be with my best friend."
I showed them my phone with a text from "Wade" saying that I can go out and take care of myself and tell the guards that he said yes. Of course, it wasn't from the real Wade. It was a text that Erin made me sent me to trick Logan and the guards.
"Hold on, ma'am, I'll just call Mr. Harris." Logan said.
"If I were you, I wouldn't do that. He is in a middle of a meeting with my father now and God knows he doesn't want to be disturb." I said. "Don't you trust me?"
"Of course I do, ma'am." He said and motioned the guards to open the gate.
I felt victorious upon seeing the gates opened.
"I'll drive you and come with you just to make sure." Logan said and made his way to one of the cars. I hurriedly went out and saw Erin's car parked nearby. I ran towards it and asked her to drive away.
"Jesus, Cami, what's going on?" Erin said after I closed the door loudly.
"Drive now, I'll explain later. Come on." I yelled. "Go, go, go."
"Alright, alright," She said as she drove away as fast as she could.
"Faster, E," I said. "Logan can't follow us. I cannot have fun while someone is babysitting me."
"I am going as fast as I can. Who's Logan? Why are we running away from him?" She said.
"He's Wade's head of security and he wants to join us tonight but that can't happen, right? So drive fast." I said.
"I think Wade is gonna kill us for this." She said. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"It is. Since when did having fun become a bad idea?" I said and wiggled my brows at her.
"You're crazy." She said while laughing.
"You agreed to this and that means that you are as crazy as I am," I said. "Where are we going?"
"We are going to the best club in town, of course. We are gonna have one hell of a night." She said.
"Oh my God! I'm so excited! It has been months since we last went out like this." I said. "Unlike you, you have always been out with your boyfriend."
"He's not my boyfriend, okay? We're just friends." She said.
"Friends don't do the things that you do, E. You go on dates and give each other gifts." I said.
"No, we are just friends." She said.
"Alright, if you say so," I said.
"We're here. We are too early for a night out, C." She said.
"You know the saying? The early bird catches the worm and it's better to be late than never." I said.
"You do know you are married, right? Did you ad Wade fought?" She said.
"Yes, we did but that is not why we are here. We are here to have fun! Come on! Let's go." I said as I opened the car door.
Erin went out of the car too and we both made our way towards the club.
"Now I am certain that Wade is gonna kill me." She said.
"Don't mind him, E; he won't know we're here." I said.
"I hope so, C." She said.
"Let's go, E. Stop acting so weird now. Come on." I said.
"Alright, let's go hit the boys." She said. "I mean me, okay? Not you, you're married."
"Whatever." I said as we entered the club.
There are only a few people in the club tonight.
Well, the night is still young though. We headed straight to the bar and sat at the high chairs.
"Good evening ladies, you two look gorgeous tonight." The bartender said. He was wearing the usual bartender smile which looked like he was doing this for a while.
"Thanks." We both said.
"What can I get for you?" He asked.
"Actually, we would like some light drinks first since the night is still young." Erin said.
"Right away, ma'am." He said and started to work on our orders.
"So, what did you and Wade fought about?" Erin said. "You shouldn't be fighting; you're still on your honeymoon stage."
"Honeymoon stages my ass." I said.
"Why? Don't tell me you haven't done it?" She said while faking a shocked face.
"What? Did what?" I said.
"The honeymoon!" She said loudly.
"Well..." I just cannot tell her right away. No one else knows about our agreement and we wanted to keep it that way.
"Oh, you did it!" She said. I just smiled and thought that it's better if that's what she knows. We need to act as normal couples do. "Was he huge? How was your first time doing it?"
"Shut up, E," I said while laughing. However, her questions made me wonder. Wade has a very nice body built with abs and muscles in the right places. He's not too bulky either. He's my type in men. Is he huge? Oh my God! I need to stop right here because I will never find that out. There's no way I am gonna sleep with him.
"Here's your drinks, ladies; if you need anything else just call me." The bartender said.
"Thanks," I said.
"Cheers!" Erin and I said at the same time and then emptied our shot glasses.
About an hour later and we had enough drinks already.
"Let's drink some more and let's dance, C. This is our night!"Erin said and he called the bartender for the nth time and ordered something again.
"Actually ma'am, someone wants to give you these drinks." He said when he went to us.
"Who?" Erin asked.
"That gentleman over there." He said as he pointed to a guy across us.
"Oh, thanks," Erin said and we took the drinks.
Erin turned to the guy and she mouthed "thank you".
"Cheers!" We banged our glasses and drank to the last drop.
"You know what? I'll just go and show that guy how thankful we are for those drinks." Erin said.
"Alright, I'll just go to the restroom. I'll see you back here, okay?" I said.
"Copy that." She said and she made her way towards the guy who gave us free drinks. I can tell that she is tipsy as well. Who wouldn't? We couldn't even count how many shots we took.
I slowly got up from the chair and walked towards the restroom. I think we had a lot tonight as I felt dizzy and nauseous but I can still manage to walk although it's a crisscross walk. I reached for the doorknob and opened it when someone grabbed me in the waist and pulled me out of there. I was so dizzy to even know what was going on or who was pulling me. Are these Dad's men or is this Wade's? Oh, God! My head hurts so much.
"Hey, let go of me!" I said as I kicked whoever was holding me. "Who are you? What are you doing? Let go of me! You jerk!"
We reached the parking lot and he let go of me.
"What the hell were you thinking?" Wade's voice boomed like thunder.
"Wade! What are you doing here?" I couldn't believe that he's here. He couldn't have known that I am here. Did he put a tracking device on my phone? He better not! That is clearly invading my privacy. How dare him!
"Shouldn't I be the one who should be asking you that?" He said with his hands on his waist. "How can you be so careless?"
"I'm not! I just wanted to have fun. I was careful, okay?" I reasoned out.
"Careful? Then why did you trick the guards? Why did you leave Logan behind?" He was fuming mad right now and I don't think I could say something that would lessen it.
"Look, I was bored, okay? I was with Erin and I am fine, you see. I can't just stay at home all night."
I don't think that he understood me because it wasn't his life that turned upside down, it was mine. I cannot do modeling anymore since it's too dangerous for me to be seen in public. I also need to breathe sometimes.
"So you trade your safety for fun? Are you insane? You should've at least brought Logan with you." Why is he so overreacting right now? I am completely safe and sound. It's not like something happened with me in here.
"Can you stop lecturing me now? If you're so concerned that I might be fooling around with men then you're wrong. I wasn't!"
"That is not my point!" He said looking so impatient.
"Then, what is? Because honestly, I think that's just it." Isn't he done with the whole idea of me fooling around with men while we're married?
"I care about you, okay? I don't want you to get hurt."
What?! Did I hear him right?
