Chapter 74: Chapter 74
"Wow! Look at how handsome and masculine he is. His broad and sturdy chest alone is giving me butterflies," a group of girls at the entrance giggled as they saw Alex walking out from the car.
"Do you not see how rich and intimidating he is? Look at his car. It is a limited edition car!" one of the girls yelled.
Mia opened the door to hear what the girls were talking about. She stood still before the girls who were gossiping and struck those who were staring at Alex. She walked closer to him and held him by the hands as if claiming a prize.
A small chuckle came from Alex's mouth when he saw the woman's jealous behaviour. He held his hand out and put it around her waist. They both led their way into the store, feeding the girls that were staring at him a dose of public display of affection.
Alex's grips didn't leave her waist.
"Good morning, Mr and Mrs. You are welcome to our mall. What do you want, and what are the designs you have in mind?" A sales clerk said, walking up to them.
"I will check the dinner gowns you have, and my husband here will go for the suits you have," Mia said, holding onto Alex's hands.
Alex nodded in agreement to what Mia said, and they were both led away by the clerk.
"What colour do you have in mind, Mrs?" The clerk asked as they walked into the gown department.
"I will pick a golden shimmering gold encrusted gown with a tail behind and my husband will have a black tuxedo, one that'll match mine, "Mia said to the clerk looking at Alex to see if he had any disagreements.
"Please, sit, Mrs, I will have help bringing them over," he said and motioned for Mia and Alex to sit.
They both sat down, and Alex stood up a few minutes later to search for a gift for Stella.
They hadn't had a good relationship from the start, Stella had always wanted Mia to not be with him but someone else, Mia's cousin.
He walked around the departmental shop, unsure of what to buy.
"Are you searching for a gift for my mother?" Mia asked from behind.
She had walked over to where he was. Alex didn't notice because he was deep in thoughts, thinking of what and what not to buy.
"My mother likes hair pins. She has collections of them at home, especially the olden days ones, but since they do not have them here, they should have other beautiful hair pins," Mia said to Alex trying to relieve him of the stress of picking a gift for her mother.
Her eyes then caught a beautiful butterfly shaped pin encrusted with stones of different colours shining brightly in the distance.
"That one looks good," Mia said and walked to the hair pin in a glass.
A help walked to Mia and took out the golden hairpin.
"Would you be purchasing this, ma'am?" One of the helps asked.
"Yes. I will take the hair pin and this pink one beside it," Mia and Alex said at the same time.
They shared a gaze, and the sides of Mia's lips twitched into a smile. Alex returned it, winking at her. Mia giggled, biting her bottom lip to hide her blush.
"Alright, I will pack it," the clerk said and walked away with the pin in his hands.
"Thank you," Alex said to Mia when the clerk walked away.
"You are welcome," Mia said sweetly to Alex and held him by the hand. They both walked back to pick the gowns.
Mia's gown was already brought out, and Alex's suit that matched Mia's was beside hers.
"Wait for me, husband," she said with a playful grin, wiggling her brows. "I will go try it on," she said as she walked into the dressing room followed by the salesperson.
A few minutes later, Mia looked at her reflection in the mirror, gasping at the exceptional beauty of herself.
Her curves were all accentuated, and her fair skin was beautifully shining under the stones of the dress.
"You look absolutely stunning, Mrs. I'm sure your husband is going to be dumbstruck by your beauty." The sales clerk gave compliments to Mia.
"Alex," she called out to him. "I will go outside for him to see my dress," she said and walked outside the dressing room with the dress tail behind her.
Alex's emotionless face was filled with an indescribable feeling of astonishment as he looked at Mia, who was standing in front of him.
Her eyes glimmered beautifully under the dress, and her curves were just too breathtaking.
A wide smile played on her face as Alex looked at her unending.
His gaze never left her, and she flipped the tail of the dress up, twirling around for Alex to see.
"How do I look, Alex?" Mia asked elatedly.
He stood up from the cushion he sat in and walked up to her. He held her by the waist.
"You look absolutely stunning, Mia. I can promise you that you are the most beautiful woman I have ever set my eyes on, Mia," he said, pulling her closer to himself.
Mia blushed and walked back into the dressing room to change out of the dress.
The clothes were paid for, and they walked out of the store back to the car to get ready for the island.
Mia fell asleep in the car and woke back up when the car stopped in front of the house.
Mia and Alex both walked into the house, and a maid came over to take the bags of clothes from them.
"Be careful, there's a ceramic pin there," Mia said to the maid and proceeded to walk to the room.
Mia and Alex got into the room, and Mia walked into the bathroom. Alex walked back outside to call a maid to bring the chauffeur and told him to get a car ready for their trip to the island.
Mia walked back outside and changed into a simple dress, giving the dresses to a maid to bring to the car. Alex finished dressing up as well, and they both headed on their way to the island.
