Chapter 52: Chapter 52

Alex was in a state of emotional turmoil. He had always known that his darkness would come for him eventually. He was familiar with this feeling.

It was like a dark cloud that followed him everywhere he went, waiting for the moment to engulf him completely. He had been fighting it for years, keeping his emotions together trying to keep the demon at bay, but now it seemed like the darkness was winning.

He stood in the void, completely surrounded by darkness. The air was thick and heavy, and he could feel the rage building inside him, threatening to consume him. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, but it was no use. The darkness was too strong.

And then he heard her voice, calling out to him.

Alex's heart began to ache as he recognized the voice of the person he loved. He tried to focus on her words amidst the darkness that surrounded him. He took in a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.

In the dreamlike state, he opened his eyes and saw rays of light in a distance, swimming toward his direction, struggling against the darkness that threatened to pull him back in. He could hear Mia calling out to him.

When he got closer, he saw Mia standing there, glowing and smiling at him. His heart fluttered, and he felt calmness seep into his body, wave after wave. He loved her too much to resist smiling at her, but then he could see the darkness he was in, he didn't want to soil Mia's pure spirit and glamouring beauty.

He loved how bright and beautiful she was, but he was afraid that his dark emotions would harm her. He hesitated going further toward her.

Mia noticed the resistance in his eyes, and her smile faltered for a split second but it didn't stop her from extending her hand to him.

Alex couldn't help but look into her blue eyes, she was magnificent in beauty, and her was smile enchanting... but he was hesitant to approach her.

Despite his reluctance, Mia pulled him out of the darkness and into the light.

She refused to let him go back into the darkness, and he could feel her warmth and love surrounding him.

He opened his eyes to find Mia holding him with shaky hands, crying and calling out to him to wake up.

He was afraid that he had hurt her, that he had done something terrible, while lost in the darkness. Holding on to her shoulders and inspecting her body and face for wounds, he also trued to find out what had happened.

"Are you hurt, Mia?" Alex asked, but Mia hid her injured hand, where his claws had dug into her skin.

"I'm fine, Alex," she sniffled, mustering a smile.

"Why are you crying, did I hurt you?" Alex sat up, cupping her face with a worried gaze.

"I'm fine, Alex. I'm just happy you're back and ok."

She wrapped her arms around him, and rested her head on his chest. She continued holding him until he was calm and not looking out to see if she was injured.

Alex stood with Mia between his hands in a hug.  the damage he made. Everywhere was messy with little pieces of glass everywhere. Thank God Mia was here to calm him down.

Alex made Mia to seat in a Conner of the room, which was still neat with no broken glass that could hurt her. He placed a kiss on her head and walked toward the door to meet the warriors waiting for him.

He came back inside like he forgot something important and knelt before Mia, holding her hands

"I'm so sorry for the mess I made, sorry I frightened you, sorry you got to see this." He motioned towards the room, "I promise I'll explain everything when I'm back, okay"?

"I'll be waiting for you to return," Mia answered looking directly into his eyes.

Alex couldn't resist the urge anymore, he went ahead and kissed her deeply, holding her close to his body.

And then he was gone, off to meet the warriors who needed him. But he knew that he would always come back to Mia, to the light that she brought into his darkness.

As he walked towards the door, he turned to look at Mia one last time. He knew that he had to leave, the warriors were waiting for him to give an order before they could set out to rescue his mother, but the thought of being away from Mia filled him with a sense of emptiness that he had never felt before.

Mia's eyes were filled with tears as she gazed at him, and he could see the pain and fear in her eyes.

He walked back towards her, he already saw the hand she was hiding behind her, he took her hand gently in his and examined it, feeling guilty for hurting her.

"I'm sorry," he whispered, feeling his heart clench in his chest. "I didn't mean to hurt you."

Mia shook her head, tears snow streaming down her face. "It's okay," she said, sounding choked with emotion, "I understand."

He couldn't bear the thought of leaving her like this. He pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly against him, he could still feel her shaking. "I promise I'll explain everything when I'm back," he said softly, trying to calm her down.

Mia buried her face in his chest and her sobs could be heard as she shook. He could feel her tears wetting his shirt, and he held her tighter, trying to comfort her. "I love you, Mia," he whispered. "I'll always love you."

Mia looked up at him with red and swollen eyes from crying, obviously thrown aback by the words he just spoke.

She parted her mouth, saying, "I love you too," her voice was barely above a whisper.

He leaned down and kissed her deeply, pouring all his love and passion into the kiss. He could feel her respond by wrapping her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. She gave in to him, allowing him to take the lead. He didn't want to leave her, but he knew that he had to.

Reluctantly, he pulled away from her embrace and walked towards the door. He turned back to look at her one last time; his heart heavy with the weight of his emotions.

"I'll be back soon," he said softly, "I promise."

Mia nodded; tears still streaming down her face. He could see the love and trust in her eyes, and it gave him the strength he needed to leave. With a heavy heart, he stepped out of the room and closed the door behind him.

As he walked down the corridor towards the main entrance of the pack house where the warriors were waiting for him.

He saw a maid and ordered her to take good care of Mia's injured hand, and he also instructed her to cleane up the room. He couldn't help but think of Mia.

He knew that he would do anything to protect her, to keep her safe from harm. Most importantly, he knew that he would return to her, no matter what.
