Chapter 92: Chapter 92
The three of them entered the house, chatting happily with each other. Gabby was talking excitedly to Angie. Angela was listening with rapt attention.
Jessica was in her room, hearing them speak to each other. She decided to go out and check who they were speaking with. When she came out, she saw Angela bringing out the goodies she bought for the kids from her bag. Jessica was shocked.
"Angie." She called softly. "Why didn't you say you were coming?"
Angela got up to hug her.
"Surprise!" She answered. Jessica chuckled as she hugged her back.
"I was wondering who Gabby would be reporting me to. He knows better than to report me to Abby. She will tell me!"
"Yeah! Abby is a loud mouth!" Gabby commented. Abby glared at him.
Angela laughed at the kids. She had missed them alright.
"How was the trip?" Jessica asked. Angela gave her a knowing smile.
"Oh, so there's gossip for me?"
Angela nodded. "But, you will let me settle in first. Then we can talk about him."
"Oh, it's him too," Jessica said.
She was happy for Angela. Angela had not been with anyone else since Chris, and she was really rooting for her to find true love. Even if it was in the most unlikely places, she would be happy for Angela. And she would ship them no matter what. Except if the guy didn't love her too, then she would stop it. Because she didn't want her friend to end up like her.
Angela took her clothes and went to her room. She arranged them neatly in the wardrobe. Then she went in for a cool shower. The air was warmer than in Florida.
Once she was done, she found Jessica in the room with a tray of food.
"What about the kids?"
"They're eating in the sitting room," Jessica answered. She was too eager to hear Angie's talk. Especially since she had been surviving a heartbreaking moment after watching Edwin engage someone else.
They ate in silence, only broken by the occasional scraping noises Jessica made on her plate. She did it knowing that it would annoy Angela, who glared at her playfully in response. Jessica couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight.
"I really missed you," Jessica said, laughing lightly.
"Me too. I missed you and the kids even more. After having you all around, it was so difficult and lonely being alone again. Most of the time I went back home, I would always go to your room to check if you guys were alright, then I'd remember you guys had left."
Jessica laughed so hard, the kids peeped into the room. Gabby poked his head in.
"Mom and Aunty Angie are having all the fun." He said with fake sadness. Jessica rolled her eyes at him.
"Are you done eating?"
"Yes, mom."
"Good. Go and watch your cartoons. Angie and I are discussing." She said, shooing them away. Gabby shrugged. Free cartoons, he would choose anytime.
After they had left, Jessica began staring at Angela. She cleared her throat.
"Okay. So, I actually was in a hurry to the airport because I was running late." She began. Jessica nodded, silently urging her to continue the talk.
"So I bumped into this guy when I was entering the plane. It was like I kinda pushed him 'cause I was tired and wanted to sit before the plane was ready to move."
"Yeah, so?" Jessica asked impatiently. "Did the both of you fall and stare into each other's eyes, falling in love?"
Angela laughed. "Hell no, not at all."
"Well?" Jessica pressed. "Don't make me ask!"
Angela giggled even more. Jessica glared at her.
"Oh ok, okay. I'll continue."
"I told him I was sorry. And I raced to my seat. Man, I was so happy when I sat-"
"Skip to the interesting part, Angie!" Jessica scolded.
"Oh alright. So it turned out we were sitting partners."
Jessica whistled slowly.
"Yeah. And I noticed him from the corner of my eyes. He looked too good to ignore. I wanted to say hi, but then I didn't know if he was going to accept it. I didn't know he was also staring back at me."
"Ooh. Okay. Then what happened?"
"Well, he said hi and introduced himself. I said hi and introduced myself. He asked if he could make me an angel because I looked like one." She giggled.
Jessica smirked. "Cheesy."
"Exactly what I said!" Angela exclaimed. The girls went full-on laughter.
"Then we began to talk. J, that guy is so sweet! Too sweet! I cannot believe we only met today. The click, the way it felt as if we were meant to be together. Jesse, I really liked the way I felt whenever he looked me in the eye."
Jessica touched her chest. "Awwnn. So cute!"
"Yeah. He would come in too. But he had to return home to rest. He had been on a business assignment for three days. He needed to rest and prepare for the report tomorrow."
Jessica nodded in understanding. "Angie, do you really like him?"
"Like? Girl, I'm in love."
"I'm happy for you!" Jessica said. "What's his name anyway?"
"Roy," Angela replied. Jessica scrunched up her face slightly.
"Not bad anyway."
"Yeah." Angela nodded.
"I hope you guys exchanged numbers?"
"Of course. I mean, even while the kids were welcoming me, which by the way took a long time, he still waited for me to finish. Because he wanted to have my number."
"That Good girl! I'm happy for you." Jessica said. She reached out to hug her. Angela hugged her back.
"How has the business been though? I hope my place is still vacant for me?" Angela inquired.
"Yeah. We have also spread out into other businesses as well. We now have Graves Construction." Jessica announced proudly.
"Yeah! I saw that!" Angela said excitedly. "Girl, you were so good out there. I was proud of you!"
Jessica giggled shyly. "Thank you."
Angela rolled her eyes at her friend. They continued their discussion, laughing as well.
