Chapter 91: Chapter 91
Angie packed up her bags. She didn't inform Jessica of her arrival in California. She wanted to surprise them. Now she was running late for her flight. Haphazardly, she ran towards the checking center. Once everything was done, her luggage was placed properly and it was time for her to find her seat. While she was going in, she bumped into someone else.
"I'm sorry." She apologized quickly. Without waiting to hear if he heard her or not, she went to find her seat. Once she was sat, she relaxed, sighing to herself. Sometimes she got really messy and it always caused a slip in her entire day.
She felt a presence beside her. Opening her eyes, she turned to find the same man she had bumped into standing beside her. Was he still pissed? She apologized, didn't she?
"Excuse me, ma'am, that's my seat." The man said. His voice sounded so cool, she automatically obeyed. After he sat, she regained her composure. She turned to him. She was trying to stare at him while being discreet.
Roy could feel the woman's stare. He couldn't blame her, he was very good looking as well. She too was very good looking, he was also finding it hard to take his eyes off her. Perhaps they could just try the talking thing.
"Hi." He said, turning to her.
"Hi," Angie replied.
"I'm Roy." He introduced.
"I'm Angela."
Roy smiled. It was time for a nice pickup line. "Ooh, Angela. Can I call you an angel? Cause you look like one."
Angela blushed. "Cheesy." She muttered.
For the rest of the ride, they talked all along, getting to know each other better. Angela was feeling flattered that Roy found her attractive. She found him attractive as well. In her head, she could already see them together.
When they arrived in California, Roy found her struggling with her luggage again. He took it from her and offered to carry it for her.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"Oh, I'm going to see my friend and her kids. They actually don't know I'm coming, it's a surprise." She said, pushing her hair backward as the breeze scattered it all around. Roy helped her to arrange the hair.
"Let me drop you off. I went to Florida for a business meeting. So my driver is on the way with my car. I could just drop you at your friend's place."
"Oh. Thanks." She smiled. Roy took her luggage with him. When his driver arrived, he placed them in the boot of his car. Then he went and opened the back door for her to enter. Angela felt flattered all the more. Angela and Roy had gotten into each other almost instantly. They both felt something for each other. It was a typical love at first sight.
She gave him the address as she didn't know the direction to the place. It was a forty-five minute drive from the airport, and luckily they met them at home. Considering that it was a Sunday and there were chances that Jessica could have taken them to her parent's place.
Gabby and Abby were playing outside when the unfamiliar car parked itself in front of the house. They stopped their play to pay attention to whoever was going to come down from the car. Roy caught a glimpse of Gabby's face. He found the face quite familiar but getting out with Angela, he knew he didn't know the child. He didn't know any child with any such green eyes. But the boy's face looked too familiar to ignore.
"Thank you," Angela said, collecting her bag from him. Once Gabby and Abby saw it was Angela, they screamed and rushed forward to hug her. Angela was excited as well. She had missed them and their never-ending energy.
Roy watched them embrace Angela so tightly, telling her how much they have missed her and how happy they were to have her with them again.
Gabby even went as far as telling all the restrictions his mother had placed on him which she would have accepted normally if she was to be with them. Angela laughed at their words.
"Did you get anything for us?" Abby asked immediately. "Like chocolates and sweets? Mom doesn't let us have more chocolates anymore."
Angela laughed again. "Oh, I got chocolates for my favorite niece and nephew." She ruffled their hair.
Roy stood at the corner, watching the drama unfold. He was wondering if he had met them somewhere before. The resemblance was just too striking. He waited till the greetings were over, then Angela turned back to find him there.
"Oh." She said as reality dawned on her. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know you were still waiting!"
Roy offered her a kind smile. "I understand. You must miss them a lot. The kids, they're beautiful."
"Yeah. They are. My friend, their mom, she's pretty too." Angie praised.
Roy nodded. "So angel, can I get your number then? I have to return home to rest and prepare for work tomorrow."
Angela nodded shyly. She took his phone and typed her number in there. Roy collected it and saved it. He leaned in and pecked her on the cheek. Angela blushed all shades of red.
"Bye, Angel. I will call you when I get back home." He winked at her too. Angela waved at him, watching him get into the car, and still watched till they were out of view. Gabby stood beside her, watching the car that was no longer visible. He tugged at her sleeve. Angela broke out of her reverie, turning to the little child beside her, she grinned.
"C'mon champ. Let's go in!" She announced. Gabby held her right hand, Abby held her left and they went in together.
