Chapter 80: Chapter 80

Gary left the Graves' apartment that day with one intention, to find a building for them. He knew that if they decided to build it themselves, it would take longer to begin the company again.

He travelled to California that same day, in search of a good building for the business and the plans they had drafted out.

When he found one, he bought it straight away. It was a house that could also serve as a mini start up for the business.

When the transactions were completed, he went back to Texas with the documents of ownership in his hands.

He paid them a visit.

"Gary, hello." Mrs. Graves answered the door. "Come in." She opened it wide for him. Gary was always welcomed in their house. He had done a great deal for them. Even when everyone else turned their backs on Graves, Gary still stood beside him.

"Where's your husband?" Gary asked. "I need to see him urgently. I have a place I need to be soon."

"Oh, he's -"

"Gary. You're here pretty early." Mr. Graves spoke as he entered the sitting room. "I heard you say you had to see me urgently. Is anything the matter?"

"No. I got this for you. Take it as a token. It's my support for you to start the business as soon as possible." Gary said, handing him the wrapped documents. Mr. Graves stared at him from the corner of his eyes as he accepted the documents.

"Am I supposed to open them now?" Mr. Graves asked like a child.

Gary shrugged. "Any way you want it. But eh, I have to be on my way now. Friend, I want you to start this company as soon as possible. Okay? Check the documents to see if they're complete. If anything at all, call me."

Mr. Graves nodded. He tore open the documents and read them. He didn't have to finish reading it before he knew what was in it.

"It's a document of ownership, for a building in California." Mr. Graves muttered. He turned to stare at his friend. "Gary, what would I actually do without you? Thank you so much! Thank you very very much!"

"Yes so, I have to leave now. I believe that by tomorrow, the entire family will be in California. I will pay you a visit there once you've settled in." Gary said. He stood up, shook hands with Mr. Graves and left.

Mrs. Graves smiled. This was a huge start for them. It was all the push they needed to actually restart the company!

"We have to start packing." Mr. Graves said hurriedly.

"We have to tell the twins." Mrs. Graves announced. "And Jessica too!"

Mr. Graved dialed Jessica's number. "I'll tell Jessica, you call the twins."

Mrs. Graves rolled her eyes at him. He always chose Jessica, all the time.

"Hey kids." Mrs. Graves spoke happily. "How are you, and how are your studies?"

"They're fine mum. What's up?" Kristen answered.

"Well, you guys won't believe what's up! We are going to be starting the company again!"

"Really? How.. I mean.. wow! Mom, that's great news! Wow! Tristan, hey come hear this." Kristen's excited voice spread through the room. "Mom and Dad are starting the company again!"

"Wow. Where?"

"California. We're moving back to California!" Mrs. Graves announced. "Right now, we are packing up. So here's the deal. I will text you guys the new address. So when you're returning from college for a break, come straight over."

"Sure thing mom." Kristen said. "Wow, I'm so happy."

"Yeah." Tristan added. "Me too."

Mrs. Graves smiled. "That's just lovely. You guys study hard, okay? So that when you're done, you could actually join the company as well."

"Deal mom!" Tristan agreed instantly. "Say hi to dad."

Mr. Graves was in the sitting room, speaking calmly with Jessica over the phone.

"Wow dad, that's easy. I'm happy. So you guys will be moving tomorrow? Or tonight?"

"We might leave tonight if we can get packed up very quickly." Mr. Graves replied.

"Oh, dad. Send me the address so that I can begin to pack up as well."

"Sure thing princess. Thank you for doing this." Mr. Graves said slowly. Jessica giggled at him. They talked a little bit more before ending the call.

Mr. Graves and his wife packed up the entire apartment very quickly. They booked their flight, and by the following day. They were already unpacking their stuff in the new place.

Mr. Graves had a feeling of nostalgia wash over him as he breathed in the California air. He was back to rebuild his empire, and give his children the life they got used to.

"Somehow, I wish all our kids were here with us." Mrs. Graves said suddenly. "At least for this first day."

"It would have been wonderful. After all the suffering, we get to rebuild this company again. I feel like my dreams are just starting to get fulfilled." Mr. Graves said, shaking his head. "Well, now we can start putting the plans into reality. There is some furniture we need to get too."

Mr. Graves went around, fixing things into place. Once he was done, he made a list of the things that still needed to be gotten.

"We would need employees too." Mrs. Graves reminded.

Mr. Graves nodded. "Jessica can handle that."
