Chapter 79: Chapter 79

Jessica began to connect the dots together. She searched every link, decoded every hidden message.

Her hands were flying over her keyboard so rapidly. Hours had gone by, she hadn't taken any break. She was bent over, straining her eyes to read the codes that appeared on the screen.

"Jessica, Jesus!" Angela screamed. Jessica flinched at the sound of her name. She cringed a little.

"Angie? Oh hi. I didn't hear you come in. You're back so early?"

"Jessica, it's past noon. I've been in the house for over thirty minutes. I've been talking to you and you weren't listening."

"I'm sorry. I've just been occupied with my findings and investigations."

"Oh." Angela sat beside her. "Yeah you said Gary was going to tell you today. What did he say?"

"Angie, I want to do something." Jessica said thoughtfully. "I want to restart my father's company in California. That would be my first step of revenge."

Angela nodded. "Whatever you wish to do, I will be in full support of it, babe. But revenge for what exactly again?"

"Angie.." Jessica called lowly, still focusing on the screen before her. "With everything I have seen here, and I even called my dad to confirm, all roads lead to the Reid family." She paused.

"Reid? I've heard that name before." Angela muttered.

"And the Turner family." Jessica completed.

"Turner family… as in?"

"As in Edwin Turner, and Reid family as in Hannah Reid."

Angela turned away. "What the heck? Jess! How could Edwin .. what?"

"Yes. And since both families are based in California, it will be very easy to notice their reactions when they see dad's company resurfacing."

"Well, have you asked your dad yet? Did he agree to it?" Angela inquired. "You have to remember to include him in all your planning as well. After all, it's still his call to continue the company."

Jessica chuckled darkly. "You don't seem to understand what is going on here. My dad will do anything to reinstate his family. And I will do anything to bring Edwin Turner to the end."

Angela raised her hand in surrender. "Whatever you wish, darling. I will support you. Let's begin the plans then. You have to find good land. Somewhere that is strategic as well. The building and construction will also take a lot of time, so we can't afford the Turners and Reids to know about it at first."

Jessica nodded. "You're right. Let me inform dad so he can begin the search for a good place to start."

She dialed her father again. This time, he picked up almost immediately.

"Dad. -" "Hey princess." Her father greeted as well. She chuckled.

"Were you waiting for my call? You picked almost immediately."

"Well, I missed your call the previous time. I wouldn't want you to get mad at me."

"Aw dad. By the way, if I asked you to restart the company, would you agree to it?"

Her father was silent. "Princess, you know the deal with the government. I can't even get a decent job not to mention starting another company."

"But if you could, would you?" Jessica asked again.

"Of course I will. I will do anything my princess asks me to do." Her father promised. Jessica glanced at Angela.

"Then, let's start looking for a good place. Let's say I'm the one restarting the company. The government revoked your license, but not mine. I wish to restart your company, dad."

"Okay dear. I don't understand the sudden interest in the company but like I said, I will do anything for you." Her father said lightly. "I have this friend who has been close to the family, helping out as well. I will talk to him about it."

Jessica smiled. "Then it's settled. Call me with whatever update you get, okay dad?"

"Alright princess. Thank you so much!"

"Bye dad. Say hi to mom and the twins. These rascals do not call me at all."

Her father laughed heartily. "I will scold them."

"Hehe." She chuckled. "Bye."

"So, what's the update?" Angela asked as soon as she dropped the call.

Jessica turned with an evil grin. "Dad is ready to assist me. The company will start as soon as we finish with the building."

Mr. Graves dialed his friend immediately.

"Hello?"

"Mr. Graves. How are you?"

"Very well my friend." Mr. Graves replied. "How about you?"

"I'm good as well. How is the family?"

"Fine, fine. I actually called for a reason."

"Okay." The other man said. "What's the matter, friend?"

"It's a serious matter. Do you think you could come over?"

"Sure. I'll be there in ten."

"Okay, thanks."

Mr. Graves sat back on his couch, thinking about how he struggled to build the other company from scratch. Unlike the Turners who have had their businesses running for generations, and handing down the presidency position, he had single handedly built his company from scratch. He had really been successful!

Exactly ten minutes later, he heard a knock on the door. He went to open it.

"You really arrived at ten." Mr. Graves said with a small laugh. "Come on in."

"Well, I was around the corner anyway. Ah. Where's the wife?"

Mr. Graves looked around. "She should be somewhere. I can't even remember."

"Really." Mrs. Graves whacked him lightly with a paper towel. "Hello Gary." She greeted me.

"Hello. How are you?" Gary asked warmly.

"I'm good. What can I offer you?" Mrs. Graves asked.

Gary waved it off. "I'm not a guest. If I get thirsty, I know the refrigerator."

Mrs. Graves surrendered, letting out a small laugh as she made to leave. Her husband called her back, and asked her to sit with them.

"This is a serious matter." Mr. Graves began. "I wish to restart the company." He announced.

Mrs. Graves stared at him in mild shock. Was this Jessica's doing? She wouldn't be surprised.

Gary scratched his head. "That's alright if you want to.

Do you have a plan drafted out? You know the government has revoked your license."

Mrs. Graves nodded. She didn't want anything that would cause bigger problems for them.

Mr. Graves nodded as well. "I do know that, but you see, Jessica wants us to start it again. I'm certain we can rebuild it. I also do not have any plans whatsoever, and that's why I called you. So that we could plan it together."

Gary shrugged. "That's wonderful news by the way. Let's get to work then."

They began to discuss ways to restart the company without the government being alerted. Gary gave him ideas that would protect the company. Once in a while, Mrs. Graves would chip in something.

After an hour of planning, they decided to take a short break. Mrs. Graves served them a light meal, and fresh juice. After that, they resumed their planning. Even down to what kind of building to use.
