Chapter 73: Chapter 73

Jessica was sitting in her room, looking at herself in the large makeup mirror. She knew her body was changing fast.

She brought her phone out to check the calendar to see how many months she heard left.

"Hmm, three months left!" Jessica said out loud, rubbing her tummy with her palm.

She knew she had not been preparing for her baby's arrival. She browsed through some online stores to know what to buy and she started taking notes on her notepad.

"Babes, you woke up early today!" Angie said, walking in from the living room." Yes, babe, can we go baby shopping today? You know I will be busy for the next few weeks with ongoing projects in the company, I think this is the best time.

" Jessica explained and Angie nodded with excitement." Yes, let's go today. We need to start preparing for their arrival." Angie said with happiness in her voice and Jessica sighed.

Angie walked toward her and sat beside her, " babe, you know you don't have to worry. You will be fine, you need to be strong for them. Now go to the bathroom and have your bath, let me browse popular baby stores that are close by." Alright Angie, thank you," Jessica replied.

She stood up and quickly went to the bathroom. She came out after a few minutes. She checked on the new set of clothes she bought and picked a blue palazzo jumpsuit and she walked to the living room.

Angie was setting the dining table when she walked in. The two have their breakfast in silence because Angie was checking on some list of items they need to buy at the same time.

After eating, Jessica and Angie left the apartment and headed to the baby store they thought was the best after checking out their ratings.

After ten minutes of driving, they arrived at the big store. They came down from the car and walked in, with the notepad in Jessica's hand.

Angie saw baby wardrobe essentials and she quickly dragged her friend to the section. They started picking the set of clothes they wanted with the color at the back of their mind.

" Jesse, don't you think this onesie is nice?" Angie said, displaying the set of pink cloth to Jessica.

"Is there a blue color? Jessica asked, picking up the pajamas set into the basket.

"Yes, there it is," Angie said happily, picking up the two onesies and dropping them in the basket.

They picked rompers, shirts, sweaters and jackets, pants, socks, newborn hats, and blankets.

After making sure they bought everything they needed at wardrobe essentials, they sighted the baby nursery essentials and pushed their shopping trolley to the section.

They picked a baby crib, baby monitor, glider, and diaper pail. They visited all the sections in the store and before they knew it, they had four different big shopping trolleys and two sales assistants came to their rescue.

They pushed the trolleys to check out the section. Angie was busy thinking about the list and suddenly, she noticed they had not bought a car seat, stroller, baby swing, and play mat which was also on the list.

The sales representative directed them to baby gear essentials and they selected their favorite ones from the display shelf.

They checked out and made payment and all their items were packed. The store got their address and promised to deliver on or before evening.

The store owner thanked them and they left the store. Angie drove to a nearby restaurant and the two friends ordered pasta and chicken and they left for their apartment after.

When they got home, they cleared the room and made space for the baby's items. The items were delivered to them after an hour and they started arranging the baby's room.

They arranged them section by section for easy access when they will be needed. It took them an extra hour before they could arrange for the baby's crib, and at that time, Jessica wished Edwin was there to set it up.

" All done!" Angie shouted, after placing the last set of the crib.

" Hmmm, thank you, babe. What can I do without you," Jessica replied laughing.

"Aww, you make me blush girl!" Angie replied, smiling. They left the room and walked to the living room.

Jessica's Phone Alarm beeped, reminding her of her appointment with the doctor the following day.

Angie cooked and served them dinner and they retired for the night. The following morning, Angie started preparing for work, she made sure to wake up early to do the necessary chores at home and Jessica was up too, helping her out.

Around 7:40 am, Angie left for the office, and Jessica was left at home alone. She remembered her appointment was scheduled for 11 am.

Jessica took her bath and then ate her breakfast.

Around 10:30 am, she left for the hospital. She entered her car and drove to the City hospital.

After twenty minutes, Jessica arrived. She walked down and her phone rang immediately, even without checking the caller, she knew who it would be - Angie.

" Jessica, are you at the hospital?" Angie asked over the phone.

" Yes, I am. Do you think I will ghost it? Jessica asked with a chuckle, " You know I don't trust you," Angie replied.

" Hmm, anyway, I am at the hospital. You don't have to worry, just face your work mama, and …" Jessica trailed off.

"Jessica? Are you there?" Angie said over the phone after she did not hear anything from her.

" Jesse?"

"Angie, I saw Edwin!"

"You did what?"

" Edwin is here. In the hospital!" Jessica said slowly, with her hand shaking.

" Babe, calm down, go back to your car, and wait for me. I will be right there! Angie said calmly and hung up. Jessica quickly walked back to her car.

She sat inside and looked at Edwin who was with a girl, who she believed was a secretary walking in with him into the hospital.

" Why is Edwin here? Did he get my location?" Jessica thought to herself as she watched Edwin walk to the hospital for a proper check-up.
