Edwin couldn't believe why Jessica would be all over James. He remembered how she was smiling when talking to him in New York, and he was very furious.

Edwin remembered how Jessica did not show any sign of remorse when she saw him making out with a girl in his office, a girl he didn't remember her name. He only did all that just to make Jessica more jealous after what happened between them in New York.

To calm his nerves down, he decided to call his best friend, Roy, to meet up with him in a bar. He needed someone to vent his frustration to.

"Hey, Roy. Let's meet up at our regular spot. I really need some company right now," Edwin said, sounding sad.

" I am there. I will be waiting for you," Roy said over the phone.

Edwin sighed as he cut the call. He got to where the car was parked and told the driver to go home. He wanted some time alone. Immediately he got there, he packed his car and walked to the bar.

Walking faster, Edwin was eager to tell everything to Roy. Maybe he could give him some advice on what to do next.

As soon as he got to the bar, he saw his friend was sitting at their usual hidden spot. He walked to him and sat down with a sour expression on his face. Roy noticed this and he decided to know what happened to almighty Edwin.

Just then, a hot waitress with a skimpy gown and seductive body walked towards them. She was bringing Edwin's drink. When she got there, she bent down so low that her boobs were all exposed but to her shock, Edwin didn't take a glance at her.

Even Roy was surprised at Edwin's behavior. Does that mean the situation was quite serious?

“ Hey, guy, who spoiled your day? You look horrible,” Roy chuckled, pouring himself a drink while he signaled the girl to leave.

After giving it a thought, Edwin explained all that happened in New York to his friend. And how he decided to make her more jealous in the office, which seems not to work at all but instead it creates more distance between them.

"I just wanted to get a reaction from her. I wanted to be sure that my plans were working. I had to be sure she is developing feelings for me. I just wondered why it went the opposite way instead and she always sticks to that boy in the company. She always gets in his car and smiles broadly," Edwin complained bitterly.

" Can you tell me which one irks you more? Is it that she doesn't care what you do or the fact that she enters the so-called co-worker's car?" Roy asked, after listening to Edwin's whining about his worker.

"I just hate that he is close to him. He always made sure to give her a ride so he could spend time with her. How tricky!" Edwin said, clenching his fist.

“ Why not give her a car? If you don't want her with the guy again,” Roy suggested.

“I think that's a good idea but Jessica is stubborn. She might not even take it,” Edwin said, bowing his head to think about what his friend just suggested.

“ This is what will happen, you won't give it directly. Just do it with your company, maybe your manager, just as a compliment to what she did in New York. The car will come from the company, not you,” Roy explained, smiling faintly.

With wide eyes, Edwin looked at his friend,“ Wow, you are so good at this. I know I will get some useful advice from you."

“I think that's the best. It will settle your insecurities too,” Roy teased, a grin on his face.

"I am not insecure! How can I be insecure over her? It's not like I am in love with her!" Edwin denied instantly.

" What if you are? It sure does look like you are in love with her. How else would you describe your possessiveness of her?" Roy continued, looking at Edwin's expression.

" Are you trying to pick on me? How do you expect me to fall in love with her?" Edwin asked, glaring at him.

" Then explain why you are pained seeing them together? You have never been like this with other women" Roy pointed out.

" It's… it's just that I don't want someone's eyes on my prey," Edwin said.

The two friends continue chatting and some girls show up to please Edwin again but he rejects them immediately. He couldn't think of something else. All he could think about was how to make Jessia beg for his attention.

Getting home from work, Jessica was eager to start her assessment. So she could go to the next phase of the interview. She couldn't stop thinking about what happened at work today. She remembered how the girl was moaning Edwin's name and she bit her lips.

“ I am sure all that happened between us in New York is nothing to him, I can't believe I took him seriously. Am I being too emotional? Why am I feeling this way?” Jessica thought to herself.

She opened her laptop to start the assessment, typing on it to solve the problem presented. Jessica was thinking about how to solve a particular problem when her mind went to Edwin again when they were in the pack having a nice time together.

She continued drooling in the pool of her thoughts, smiling to herself when her phone suddenly started ringing. She snapped out of her thoughts and looked at the phone. It was displaying her friend's name, Angie. She quickly picked it up.

“ Hello Angie, How are you?” Jessica said as soon as the call connected.

“ I am good and you? How was your business trip?” Angie asked.

“Hmm, it was fine," Jessica answered in a calm tone.

“ What happened, are you okay?"Angie asked, detecting a sad tone in Jessica's voice.

“ Yes. I am just thinking of solving the assessment, and my mind keeps going somewhere else” Jessica explained.

“ The assessment? I know that's not a problem for you Jessy, tell me what you're thinking about,” Angie said, insisting.

“ My boss has been annoying,” Jeesica lamented. She knew there was no way she could hide it from Angie, anyways.

“ He makes you do a lot of work? What happened? I remember you told me about your encounter with him before you start working there,” Angie questioned.

“ He brought a lady to the office today, and they made out in my presence. Can you imagine? ” Jessica said, with wet eyes.

“That's ridiculous but how can…” Angie couldn't continue what he wanted to say when she heard her friend sniffle.

“ Jessica, do you love him? What happened between you two in New york? Did he touch you?” Angie said, darting her eyes as she asked her friend questions.

“ Nothing really happened between us, and I don't love him,” Jessica said.

“Nothing? Tell me what happened,” Angie asked curiously.

“ I saw him making out with a girl in the restroom and I was furious, then I stopped talking to him,” Jessica explained.

Angie rubbed her eyes with her hand, thinking of how to explain things to her innocent friend “Jessy, I think you love him,”

“No, I can_”

“ First, you got mad at him for making out in the restroom and now you couldn't concentrate after seeing him making out again, “ Angie said, as she interrupted Jessica.

“ You love him and he's trying to find out whether you do or not, “ Angie explained.

“Angie, I can't possibly love him. He's a pervert!” Jessica said, sniffing more.

“ He will only sleep with me then just …” Jessica trilled off.

“ Maybe you should give him a try. He might feel the same way but don't throw yourself at him, “ Angie suggested.

“ What if he hurts me, Angie, I don't think I can't survive that, am confused right now"

“Now you accept you have fallen in love with him already, just cool your head down, and see how he behaves around you,” Angie suggested.

“ Alright babe, thank you. I am happy to have you in my life,” Jessica said, as she buried her face in her hand.

“That's why we are friends, don't let him affect the assessment, just do it. Who knows you might consider the job later,” Angie said smiling.

“ I will submit it tonight, I think I can think straight now while talking to you about it, “ Jessica said, in a low voice.

“ I trust you, babe, talk to you later,” Angie said as she hung up the call.

Jessica continued working on the assessment and after an hour, she was able to submit it. She shut down her laptop and lies on her bed, thinking about what Angie has said.

“ Giving him a chance? Why Edwin of all people?“ Jessica thought to herself as she slept off.
