Chapter 233: Chapter 233

The tunnel opened into a vast, sprawling chamber, its walls a dizzying blanket of glowing runes and shifting shadows that seemed to writhe like living things.

This was Echidna’s inner sanctum, a maze of passages branching off into unseen regions of her domain, each one covered by various wards that radiate thickly with finite sets of Monster Energy.

Adam stepped forward, his boots echoing softly on the stone floor as he cross the surreal space.

As Morgana slithered beside him, her tail gliding over the smooth surface, her violet eyes wide with a mix of awe and nervous excitement.

Her voice quickly broke the silence.

"This... this is the first time that I personally have ever come this deep into Mother’s domain. The outer sanctums deeper parts sure, but this?"

She gestured at the sprawling maze, her tail flicking nervously.

"It’s like stepping into her mind. So many paths are here, it kind of overwhelming."

Adam glanced at her, his golden eyes glinting with a mix of amusement and nostalgia. The source of thɪs content is 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡⁂𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢⁂𝘯𝘦𝘵

"Yeah, it’s a lot to take in. I first came here when I was a teenager...Echidna used to drag me down these halls to teach me about monster history, the old wars, the rise and fall of multiple bloodlines. All the messy stuff that shaped our kind basically still, this place is a representation of her own mind, so your not wrong at all."

He chuckled, running a hand through his hair.

"She would sit me down with these ancient tomes, telling me about events that happened eons before I was born. For a hottie, she was the most traditional of my sister’s, she would educate me on alot of things, and day would never go by without her reminding me that it was my duty to keep myself inform about the history of our species."

He paused, his gaze drifting over the maze like halls, and entrances before him, the memories stirring something bittersweet.

"You know, it’s weird thinking about it now, given what said about Echidna’s been more... active lately. When I was a kid, my sisters barely mentioned her. She was this elusive figure, always hiding in the shadows of our manor. The rare times she showed herself, it was usually in my dreamscapes, our mental spaces of pure darkness that she called my inner subconscious."

"She would pop in, give me cryptic advice or some mission to chew on, then vanish. To me it always felt like she was testing me, pushing me to figure things out on my own. She has been one of my greatest mentors, and for that, I respect the hell out of her."

Said Adam, and Morgana tilted her head, her black braided hair swaying as she absorbed his words.

"She sounds... intense. But you’re right, it’s strange she has been out so much lately. That is not like her at all."

Adam nodded, his expression turning thoughtful.

"Exactly... But if I know one thing about Echidna, it’s that she leaves trails. She is meticulous like that. I remember she always kept a journal, she usually keep notes on her projects, her family, her plans, basically everything she does. It’s usually close by, either in her bedchamber or at her desk in the library. If we can find it, we might get a hint about what she’s up to now."

Morgana’s eyes lit up, her tail swishing with purpose.

"Then let’s find it! We should split up...it’ll be faster. You know this place better than I do. Where should I go?"

Adam considered for a moment, then placed a hand on her head, his fingers warm against her cool skin.

’Actualization: I wish to transfer some of me memories to the subject Morgana.’

A faint glow pulsed from his palm as he transferred a fragment of his memories to her, a mental map of the sanctum’s layout, vivid and precise.

"The library’s down that path."

He said, pointing to a tunnel branching off to the right, its entrance framed by faintly glowing crystals.

"Her study’s at the far end, past a gallery of statues. You’ll know it when you see it, big desk, shelves packed with books and weird artifacts. Check there for the journal."

Morgana blinked, her violet eyes shimmering as the memories settled in her mind.

She said, her voice firm with determination.

"I’ll head to the study. Be careful, Master."

Adam replied, his smile softening.

Adam then turned toward the leftmost path, leading to Echidna’s bedchamber.

The air grew heavier as he walked, the runes on the walls pulsing in time with his steps, as if acknowledging his presence.

"Well atleast they are not activating."

"I am but Higoran ward’s are empowered by Echidna own power, so these things have enough power to stop and hurt even a Shinso existence."

Adam said to himself.

Entering deeper into the chamber’s entrance which was a massive archway carved with serpentine motifs, their eyes set with gemstones that gleamed like stars.

He stepped inside, and the room unfolded before him, a cavernous space.

Within, a large bed dominated the corner, and a sprawling platform large enough to accommodate Echidna’s towering two-meter frame, draped in silks that shimmered with an otherworldly sheen.

A pool of crystal-clear water lay to one side, its surface rippling faintly, reflecting the dim light of bioluminescent vines that clung to the ceiling.

A simple desk stood against one wall, cluttered with scrolls, quills, and a few strange trinkets, bone carvings, a vial of glowing liquid, a dagger with a hilt shaped like a coiled serpent.

Portraits lined the walls, their subjects abstract and unsettling, and one particularly striking image of a woman with Echidna’s fierce features, her gaze both maternal and menacing.

Memories flooded back, vivid and sharp.

He could almost see Echidna standing by that desk, her massive form hunched over a book, her voice a low rumble as she lectured him on the ancient pacts between monster clans.

"Before the lords came to be, the lands was run by the Titan Borns. Ancient Monsters created by Typhon to serve as his vassals."

"Each was larger the biggest mountains of the land at the time, each had the power greater than the horsemens. Yet they where mindless puppets precoded to destroy all that stand in their way, or the orders of the king."

Echidna said to Adam, as he asked her.

"So where are these called Titan Borns."

"My husband sealed them in his back, or so he said, right after he created the Other King’s, but you know how that story goes."

"I see, do you think I can one day control that powe?"

Adam asked to which Echidna replied, by placing a hand on her shoulder and said.

"Unlock the other gates, and without a doubt that you can reclaim the power of our origins."

The flashback ended, and Adam was now in the room again.

He approached the desk where most of the lessons about the monster world was thought to him by Echidna.

His fingers trailing over its surface, searching for the journal.

The drawers were locked, but a faint pulse of energy suggested a ward.

Echidna’s power flowing through it, subtle but unbreakable to anyone less than a Shinso or the guardian.

He pressed his palm against the wood, channeling a sliver of his own power, to decode these ward one most match the signature exactly and move it in pattern that will deactivate them.

If down wrongly it will go off.

Thankfully Echidna thought him how to decode these as well, it was because of these wards.

He was able to apply or rather to create his rune magic system that now existed today.

Inevitably the lock clicked open.

Inside, he found stacks of parchment, a few sealed letters, but no journal.

Frowning, he scanned the room again, his eyes lingering on the bed. If Echidna kept it close, it might be hidden there.

He crossed to the bed, lifting the heavy silks and checking beneath the frame.

His gaze flicked to the pool, could she have hidden it in some magical pocket? Echidna was tricky like that, always layering her secrets.

He knelt by the water, peering into its depths, but saw only his own reflection, his golden eyes staring back with a flicker of frustration.

"You’re not that paranoid."

Meanwhile, Morgana navigated the tunnel to the library, her tail gliding over the stone with a soft rasp.

The path opened into a gallery of statues, towering figures of monsters, their forms carved with such detail they seemed ready to spring to life.

Morgana said, as she looked at the statue, humanoid figure but more like a form of carved veins center around a core.

Words or s pedestal with words in marked.

"My will shapes all properties, it flow through the mundane and the complex alike."

"Through me, all that distinguish is realize even in uncertainty. I am the crown of identity, I am unbeatable, I am vague chains that allows for endless change."

"Kneel and acknowledge for I am the Force."
