Chapter 232: Chapter 232
The deeper sanctums of Echidna’s domain unfolded like a labyrinth, mostly dark but the entrance was wide and high.
The cave walls had the usual moisture one would expect from a cavern like structure despite it being just a dream construct by the end of the day.
Naturally Adam led the way, his steps sure and unhurried, while Morgana slithered alongside him, her tail gliding smoothly over the uneven stone.
Her violet eyes darting around with a mix of curiosity and wariness.
The air grew thicker here, slightly occupied with the distant echoes of moans from the breeding pits behind them, but down in these lower levels only Echidna most trusted servant are really down here giving a lot of Echidna treasure, are in the Great Library below.
As they ventured further, the tunnel widened into a series of chambers where more Lamia dwelled.
These ones however where High or Ancient Lamia, the strongest of their species kind.
So they had more rights to even be here.
As such these weren’t the frenzied ones from the pits; they were guardians of sorts, their serpentine bodies coiled around glowing crystals that lit the path, every couple of meters.
One, with scales of shimmering emerald, lifted her head as they passed, her forked tongue flickering in greeting.
She hissed softly, her voice a melodic rasp. For more chapters visıt 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡•𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚•𝙣𝙚𝙩
"The Mother speaks highly of you... Just throwing it out there, I don’t mind being a vessel for your kind, if the offer intrest you."
Adam chuckled, as he responded to her advances.
"I will definitely take you up on that offer, I do plan on creating a vast amount of children with as much woman as possible, to carry my legacy throughout the ages."
He said, then mentally he affirm.
’I mean, one day, I won’t be here anymore, as I will transcend to Kaplana, if I like it or not.’
The emerald Lamia giggled as she said.
"Tatara-Ol-gree...my lord, I will await you when you are ready."
Adam casually replied back.
"Well then safe passage through her halls my Lord."
Adam nodded, a casual smile on his face.
"Appreciate it. We’re just poking around, hoping to run into Echidna herself."
Another Lamia, this one with ruby-red scales and eyes like polished obsidian, slithered partially into view from a side alcove.
"The pits are lively tonight."
She said, her tone almost inviting.
"If you’re seeking diversion before the deeper mysteries...
Morgana shot her a playful glare, her tail flicking dismissively.
"He’s with me, sister. No need for your pit games."
The Lamia laughed, a sound like wind through reeds, and bowed her head as they moved on.
"As you wish, little dram bug, I won’t get between you and your man... May the dreams favor you both."
The encounters continued like that, brief, respectful nods and words from the Lamia who called this place home.
It made the descent feel less lonely, and serious.
But as the path sloped downward, the greetings faded, and the silence between Adam and Morgana grew comfortable, broken only by the occasional drip of water from the ceiling.
Morgana broke it first, her voice soft and tinged with genuine wonder.
"Soooo Master... what is the material world like? I mean, really like? I’ve heard from the dreamers who slip in here, and the other lamias... but it’s kind of me to comprehend how truly wonderful it is."
Adam glanced at her, his golden eyes softening.
"Oh yeah, I forget sometimes you can’t just pop over there without a proper vessel, huh?"
She nodded, her expression turning a bit wistful, her tail slowing its rhythm.
"Unfortunately, that’s how it is for us Dream Parasites. Only the Emperor ranks, also known as the A-Ranks of our species can cross over freely, manifesting in the physical realm without falling apart. And me? I’m just a high C-Rank at best, so I am unable to do what high ranker of my species can do."
"I train every day, and do everything to get stronger, but I am far from A-Rank, and don’t even get me started on Shinso level like you or Mother Echidna."
Her voice cracked a little at the end, her violet eyes dropping to the ground, shoulders slumping in that endearing way she had when vulnerability peeked through her flirtatious armor. It wasn’t dramatic; just a quiet sadness that tugged at the heart.
Adam stopped dead in his tracks, as he turned to her fully, pulling her into an embrace before she could protest.
Her scales were cool against his skin, but her upper body melted into him like she belonged there.
He murmured, his hand stroking her back gently.
"Does that hurt you? Being trapped here, I mean?"
Morgana hesitated for a bit, burying her face in his shoulder, her voice coming out sheepish and small.
"A little. I just... I want a body, you know? A real one, so I can be with you out there. You spend most of your life in the material world, only popping in here when Echidna calls or when you feel like it. I get it...it’s your home. But I miss you when you’re gone. And I want to see it all with you. But alas I am unable to do that, hahaha... A high dream for one as weak as I am."
His heart twisted at that.
Even now Adam weakness was basically the problem with woman he encounter’s in his life.
Morgana, with her endless energy and sweet, devoted spark, truly deserve better.
To Adam atleast she wasn’t just a creation to him. As such he tilted her chin up, capturing her lips in a sudden, deep kiss that caught her off guard.
She gasped against him, then melted, her arms wrapping around his neck as the world around them seemed to fade.
When he pulled back, his breath was ragged, but his words were steady.
"You know, you might’ve been made as my practice fuck doll, and as something to get me ready for the day I claim Minerva and start building our legacy. But that’s not all you are to me you know... Not by a long shot. You’re a woman, MY WOMAN!!"
His eyes glowed with pure obsession. If you look closer you can even see cold heart form in them
"And I don’t take that lightly. Beside I specialize in granting wishes, Morgana. If you’re okay with it, I’ll find you a suitable body. We’ll figure out a way to pull you into the material world. You deserve to see it, to live it. With me of course."
Her violet eyes shimmered, a single tear tracing down her cheek, but her smile was radiant.
As she hugged Adam tighter and said.
"Oh, Master... I love you."
She whispered, wiping the tear away with a laugh.
"I’m so glad you’re my master. No one’s ever said such words to me before. I would make sure to follow you and only you."
Adam chuckled, brushing the remaining tear away with his thumb, holding her close for another moment.
"Good girl there is no need to despair, your master is a very capable man you know."
"I know, master, I know."
She replied back, while Adam continued by saying.
"Then it’s settled. But hey, while we’re waiting on Echidna, let me paint you a picture of out there. The material world’s a wild place, full of life and wonder, It is a pretty fun place to be."
He started walking again, but slower now, his arm around her shoulders as she slithered beside him, hanging on every word.
"The people? Diverse as hell. You’ve got humans bustling in cities that stretch to the sky, towers of glass and steel that catch the sunlight like jewels. Then there are the monsters blending in, vampires like Moca and Priscilla, or oni like Minerva. However like everywhere else cultures clash and mix over time; festivals where streets fill with music and dancing, food stalls selling everything from spicy street meats that burn your tongue in the best way to sweet pastries that melt in your mouth."
"Oh, the food... by the Lords Morgana, you would love it. Fresh fruits bursting with juice, roasted meats seasoned with herbs that make your head spin. I remember this one time in a coastal town, I had seafood straight from the ocean, grilled with lemon and garlic. Tasted so freaking delicious."
Her eyes widened, sparkling with excitement as Adam explain the Human world to her, and her tail swishing faster as she imagined it.
"Really? And the scenery? Is it as beautiful as the dreamers say?"
Adam said, his voice warming with the memories of prior adventure through the nineteen years of his life.
"Mountains that pierce the clouds, covered in snow that crunches under your feet. Forests so thick you can get lost for days, with trees older than empires, as their beautiful leaves or petals blow in the wind."
"Beaches where the waves crash like thunder, sand warm between your toes. And the adventures...man, where do I start hahahaha... Although they are sole fucked places, that are just not worth being at, for example currently I am trying to tracked down a HIVE Mind through blizzards that could freeze a lesser man solid, so far I have fought off hordes for days now."
"But other times I end up very dangerous places to uncovered artifacts. So while they are both good and bad... To me they where all fun times?"
And Adam continue to narrate his experiences in the Material World to his curious companion.
Morgana’s laughter bubbled up, genuine and light, she definitely was feeling better now, and to Adam that was all that really matter in this moment.
Her whole face alive with wonder.
"It sounds amazing! I can picture it, the tastes, the sights. Oh, Adam, I can’t wait. Promise you’ll take me to one of those beaches first when I get a body."
He grinned, squeezing her shoulder.
"Well I know the perfect o...
But before Adam could finish his statement.
A deep, rumbling voice cut through the air like a crack of thunder, echoing from the shadows ahead.
"Intruders in the Mother’s sanctum? Bold... or foolish I should say."
They froze, but Adam just smiled as he looked ahead and saw a massive shape uncoiled from the darkness.
It was a giant serpent that emerged, its body a colossal coil of iridescent scales that shifted from deep indigo to fiery crimson in the faint glow of the cave’s crystals.
It was easily fifty feet long, thicker than a man’s torso, with a hood like a cobra’s that flared wide, revealing patterns of glowing runes that pulsed with Monster energy.
Its eyes were twin orbs of gold similar to his own, slitted and piercing, and fangs the size of daggers gleamed as it parted its jaws.
Spines ran along its back, quivering slightly, and the air around it hummed with a palpable power, a familiar guardian of the depths, no doubt.
A wry smile crossing Adam’s face when the form of the creature was whole.
"Nice seeing you too, Higoran. Still playing gatekeeper down here I see."
The serpent’s hood relaxed a fraction, its massive head tilting as recognition dawned.
"Shinso Adam, And his little parasite. What brings you to these forbidden depth?!"
Morgana pressed closer to Adam, her excitement from moments ago replaced by a cautious awe, but she didn’t cower, her chin lifted defiantly, that lovable spark of hers shining through.
Adam kept his arm around her, unfazed.
"Looking for Echidna. She’s been AWOL, and we’re not leaving until we get answers. You gonna let us pass, or do we have to catch up the hard way?"
Higoran let out a hiss that might’ve been a laugh, its coils shifting to block the path less aggressively.
"The Mother comes and goes as she pleases. But if it’s you... perhaps. Tread carefully, boy. The sanctum holds secrets not meant for even your eyes."
Adam nodded, his expression turning serious.
"Noted. Lead on, then or get out of the way."
The serpent regarded them for a long moment, then slowly uncoiled, slithering aside to reveal a narrower tunnel beyond, lined with even brighter runes.
It was his protective wards if an intruder did manage to defeat him and pass.
These ward would block them.
As they moved forward, Morgana whispered in his ears.
"That was close. You know everyone, don’t you?"
Adam murmured back, his mind already racing ahead to what lay in Echidna’s inner chambers.
