"Jade?" I muttered

"hush now, stop talking," Jade said

"the baby..."

"will be fine, you don't have to worry," he completed

"Jade I don't want to lose our baby, please," I cried

"nothing will happen to the baby, don't worry we're at the hospital now," he said. the car stopped immediately, Jade opened the door and helped me out of the car.

A nurse came with wheelchair and Jade made me sit as he pushed me to Dr Kimberly's consulting room.

A nurse stopped us from getting into Dr Kimberly's consulting room, "I'm sorry sir but Dr Kimberly is not available at the moment but I can ask Dr Tamil to take care of her," the nurse said.

‘‘I need to see Dr Kimberly now!’’ Jade roared and she yelped

"Of course, I'll let him know right away," she said.

"Ouch!" I cried in pain

Dr Kimberly came out of the room looking a bit surprised to see us, "Mr Kale... please bring her in," he said. together Jade and Dr Kimberly carefully lifted me to the bed for examination. Dr Kimberly took out his stethoscope and placed it on my neck, chest and down to my stomach. He stopped abruptly and pushed up my blouse exposing the binder on my stomach "what's this? why do you have this on?" he asked frowning at me

"I was concealing the bump, I didn't want people finding out about my pregnancy," I said

"but are you aware that this tight binder would have been the end of your baby's life? it is so tight that your baby could not grow properly, it's trying to survive, to push the tight environment it is in that's probably the reason you are feeling pains." he said

"but doctor now that we're here, you can do something about it right? you can help the baby to be how it should?" Jade asked

"absolutely, I just have some recommendations, no scratch that out, what I'm about to say is an order for UK. If you want to keep this baby, if you want it to come out healthy and normal, if you want to survive this pregnancy then please... get rid of that binder, take a break from your acting and modelling jobs, enough with the cakes, do less of school work and take plenty of rest. I am serious about this, you need to stop doing anything tedious, anything that will make you feel exhausted. Mr Kale, I want you to make sure she does these things. one more thing UK, if my calculations are correct then you should be in your second trimester, you haven't been coming for antenatal, not even once. you need to do be here every Tuesdays and Fridays by 9am for check up, understood?"

"yes" I said in a low tone

"rest for a while, I'll prescribe some medicine for the pain," Dr Kimberly said and went out.

Jade was holding my hand and kissing my knuckles lightly "how're you doing?" he asked

"apart from the cramps I'm quite alright, if you hadn't been passing that time, I wondered what would have happened to me," I said

"yeah, I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if anything had happened to you. good thing I decided to personally check up on you today, how would I have known that you were lying in pains on the roadside" he said

"what do you mean check up on me?" I asked

"I have been following you for three months now, I must say you are very good at hiding your tracks. Even Scott whom I considered the best in finding people wasn't able to find you."

"so you know my house?"

"yes, I had to pay a taxi driver a thousand dollars just for him to tell me where he took you the day you delivered a cake to Hannah's niece"

"then why didn't you ever come to me?"

"I was scared that if you were aware that I knew your hideout, you'll go farther away and I won't be able to find you. I was contented with getting to see you through my phone screen," he said

"did you install cameras in my house?" I asked in horror

"yep and I don't regret it. you lived quite a lonely life," he said

"I was angry but I didn't want to make new friends, I didn't want to replace any of you," I said

"I missed you," he said hugging me "what made you change your mind?"

"what?"

"the baby, why did you decide to keep it?"

"because of you" I answered.

Dr Kimberly brought the medicine and said I was fit to leave, I didn't even notice that the pain had subsided.

"now what?" Jade asked as we went out of the hospital

"please take me home Jade, to Juliet and everybody. I want my baby to enjoy the love of it's father even before birth. I want to be with you, please" I said

"I was hoping you would say that," he said

"where to Mr Kale?" Scott asked from the driver's seat

"take us home Scott, where we are meant to be".

I sat resting my head on Jade's shoulder as Scott drove us to the house, I was feeling a bit nervous if Juliet and the others will welcome me with open arms. I had not treated them well these past few months I was away, I felt bad for telling Juliet that I wasn't her mommy and for snubbing Hannah when she asked me why I was leaving.

"You okay?" Jade asked

"mmm-hmmm, just a bit nervous that's all," I answered

"nervous? about what?" he asked

"I'm nervous to face Juliet, she must have been so hurt when I left, Hannah and Natalie too. Not to talk to Tiffany, I was so angry with the way things turned out that I acted meanly to everyone who were dear to me and now I'm scared of facing them," I said

"trust me, the moment we get home everyone would be so happy to see you that they'll forget why they were upset in the first instance," Jade said and wrapped his arm around my neck.

I really missed being this close to him.

"I'll need to go back to my house later today or tomorrow to get my things. My laptop and everything..."

"would be taken care of. Rest assure, as we speak now, I've sent people to bring things that are yours," Jade said

"thanks honey, this means a lot to me," I said

"you know I'd do anything for you darling, and for this little guy here too."

"Jade?" I called

"yes baby,"

"which would you prefer, a boy or a girl?" I asked

"I honestly don't care which gender our baby is UK," he said.

The gates opened and the car drove in, Juliet was on the swing swaying gently "ok... we're here. wait let me go to her first, I want her to be surprised," Jade said and went out to meet her.

I couldn't make out what they were saying but I saw them talking and pointing towards the car. Jade came and opened the door for me, Juliet's jaw dropped in shock as she saw me.

"Mommy UK?" she called, her eyes widened and her face lit up like a Christmas tree as she ran to me "Mommy... Mommy you're back," she ran and hugged me

"careful, you don't want your brother or sister to complain," Jade said when Juliet jumping on me.

"so it's true, mommy you are really having a baby," Juliet said

" yes pumpkin, soon you'll have a little sibling," I said to her and her face broadened with excitement.

"well... that went well," Jade said when Juliet was out of ear shot

"yeah, and now for the older people" I said as we got in.

Hannah wasn't in the living room or kitchen when we got into the house "okay, let's get you to your room," Jade said as he swooped me up

"oh my God!" I screamed in excitement

"from now on, I'll carry you to anywhere you want to go around the house," Jade said

"don't start what you can't finish Mr Kale, how would you cope when I get really heavy with pregnancy?" I asked him

"then I'll make arrangements for a wheelchair for you," he said

"you can't be serious! in fact put me down this instant!" I said pouting

"you really want me to do that?" he asked nuzzling my neck

"no," I purred. Just then my stomach made a wamble

"what is that sound?" Jade asked

"we're hungry, it's past our snacks time," I told him and he chuckled

"on normal occasion you eat as if you were pregnant, now that you are pregnant I wonder how much you'll eat," he said dropping me on my well arranged bed.

"All you need to do is get lots and lots of snacks for me to stock in my room," I said

"alright your majesty, I'll be on my way to the supermarket right now," he said and turned to leave

"Jade... thank you," I said, he smiled and went out.

I looked around my room, it looked a little bit strange, I had been used to the purple and lilac decorations which had been in my room these past few months.

Juliet opened the door and poked her head in "can I get you anything mommy?" she asked

"yes please, baby and I are in need of a snack, can you get anything from the fridge for us?" I asked

"sure, I'll get Natalie's chips, I'm sure she won't mind," Juliet said

"perfect, go get 'em" I said and she dashed out, she came back a minute later with an armful of Nacho cheese chips, potato chips, a pack of crackers and room temperature table water.

"come here you sweet little thing, you are the best," I said hugging her

"thanks mommy, tell me if you need more," she said

"these should be enough for now, I don't want Natalie ripping my head off for finishing her snacks," I said and she laughed

I tore the pack of potato chips and stuffed a handful in my mouth "mmmm... this is perfect. want some?" I asked

"no I'm good," she said

"hmmm... your lose," I said shrugging

The door bursted open and Natalie came in, "UK! you came back and you didn't tell me?" she said aloud

"I didn't know you were in," I said with a mouthful of chips

"is that my Nacho cheese chips? UK you are horrible," she cried

"hey, it's not my fault, the baby needed a snack time" I said

"fine if it's for the baby then I'm okay with that," she said hugging me.

Jade came in with two grocery bags and emptied them on my bed, "I said snacks not fruits and veggies. why are there so many apples and avocados than chips and crackers?" I asked

"because from now on I am in charge of you, and you'll only eat things that are healthy."

oh boy....

Later that week, Tiffany, Xiao Ling, Darren and Ariel came to visit, they were extremely happy that I was back and that I was keeping the baby. I taught Natalie and Hannah my cake recipes so that they can help to continue Cakes by UK since Jade wouldn't allow me to do any work. when my bump didn't come out, I was able to deliver the cakes to my clients but as my pregnancy period progressed and I got into my third trimester, I stopped, leaving Natalie and my friends to do the work for me.

Jade and I had summon the courage to inform my family about my pregnancy, although my parents were not happy one bit about me getting pregnant before marriage, Jade was able to convince them not to be upset and that he was going to take good care of me and my baby.

Jade made arrangements for me to continue my classes at home through Skype, I don't know how he managed to pull it off but he did it.

It was a Sunday afternoon, few days to Halloween and I was searching for the best costume for Juliet on the net, Jade was doing some work on his laptop in his room while Juliet was doing her homework on the dinning table. I felt the baby kick, "pumpkin please come help me, I need to go up to my room," I said

"alright," she said and dropped her pencil and came to me. I held her hand and slowly lifted myself up, with each painful step, we climbed up the stairs to my room. Jade has been carrying me up and down the stairs when he was at home, when he wasn't there then I'll stay in my room.

"please let me catch my breath," I said leaning on the wall gasping for air

"will you be fine by yourself Mommy? I need to finish my homework," Juliet said

"yeah I'm fine, I just... oh my God! oh my God! Jade..." I screamed

"Mommy are you alright? is that... are you peeing?" Juliet asked

"go... call... Jade,"

"what?"

"tell daddy it's time" I said breathing heavily.

I felt my stomach contracting, I was having difficulty in breathing. Jade ran out with Juliet, "darling... what's wrong"

"the baby... is coming," I said in between gasps and moans.

"shit... let's go" he gently carried me up and carefully descended the stairs.

I was crying and groaning in pain. Max was standing outside the house, "get me the keys!" Jade roared and Max rushed to get the car ready.

Jade got the keys and sped off to the hospital, he used a different route, avoiding traffic lights and anything that could waste our time.

"Jade please go faster, I can't hold it anymore," I said

when we got to the hospital, he pulled up by the corner and took me in. labor had started and I was in great pain. A group of nurses came with a gurney and got me from Jade, I was rolled to a hospital room while Jade was stopped outside. As fast as possible I was changed into a maternity dress and laid on the bed.

"do you need something for the pains?" a nurse asked

"no, I want to feel everything," I said

Dr Kimberly came in fully dressed with gloves and mask and others. All the nurses were asked to leave except one

"Alright UK, I need you to take a deep breath and get ready, okay?" he said and I nodded

I was made to lie with my legs wide apart, while the nurse stood with a towel ready to receive the baby.

for 30 minutes I screamed and pushed, I was panting and sweating, at some point Jade was allowed to join. I held unto him like my life depended on it. I won't be surprised if the entire New York heard my screams because it was loud, I stopped screaming when I heard a smaller voice screaming.

"congratulations Mr Kale, you have a beautiful daughter."
