I looked around, I had no doubt this was a torturing room, so Jade has a torturing room in this house? I remember when I was having a tour in the house, this was one of the locked rooms.

There were different tools in every corner of the room, on the wall, on the floor, on the table and some dangling from the ceiling. The surprising thing about these tools was that they looked new and shiny, in this kind of place, you would expect to see rusted tools but the reverse was the case here. I completely forgot I was looking for Jade, I walked around looking at the "furnishings" in the room.

"What are you doing here?" Jade said and I jumped, "oh it's you," I said holding my chest.

"Yes it's me, where you expecting someone else?" Jade asked, "no" I answered confused, why would he think I was waiting for someone. "So what were you doing here?" He asked again, "oh yeah I was looking for you," I said

"Is this where to find me?"

"Not really, I called and you didn't answer then…"

"Then you thought you could poke your head behind any door that is unlocked"

"No, that's not true, I'm telling you I was looking for you, I didn't see you. Then I heard…"

"That's enough, I don't want to know what you heard, you shouldn't be here, in this room. I don't care what you saw, this room is out of bounds for you or anybody in this house"

"What is your problem?" I asked, still feeling confused why he was getting cranky at me.

"I have no problem, you said you were looking for me, you've found me, now you can leave," he said. his eyes wandered everywhere in the room except me. Whatever his problem was, I had nothing to do with it so he had no right to be angry at me, I thought.

"I wanna say something and don't you even dare interrupt me, Jaden," I was getting pissed off, "you know I was just on my own reading and then your daughter asked me to teach her how to dance, thanks for the recommendation by the way. We have been practicing since morning and she thought it would be great for her father to see her do some moves so I came in to call you. I checked every possible place you could be, living room, study, gym, your bedroom, even the library, but you weren't there. I called your name but you didn't answer, just when I thought I should go down and tell your daughter that I couldn't find you, I heard a sound coming from this room and I got in.

"But if it is a crime for me to come into the room, where the woman who nearly killed me, is being punished then I'm sorry I'll be leaving. If you're upset about something then throw your anger at it, don't transfer aggression on me. I am not the cause of your problems, all I did was to call you to watch your daughter dance."

With that, I left.

"Where are you going now?" he asked

"somewhere not 'out of bounds' for me" I went out and slammed the door behind me.

''You were gone a long time, what happened? And... where's daddy me?" Juliet asked as soon as she saw me

"honey, daddy is a bit busy so I'm not sure he'll come see you dance." I replied, patting her head

"is that so?" She looked sad and disappointed.

"I'm sorry honey, I am still confused with the way he's acting. Why don't we end our lessons for today, we've been practicing since morning and we've not had lunch, let's go in, dinner should be ready soon." I told her, she nodded her and we went in.I went straight to my room still feeling confused and annoyed with the way Jade talked to me earlier. I tried taking my mind off him by giving myself a full 30 minutes soak in my favorite bubble bath, Bubble Elixir, it tried but when it seemed I've been able to get a hold of my annoyance, I remember Juliet's disappointed face and Jade's annoying voice pops up to my head, "you were looking for me, you've found me, now get out"

"urg!" I groaned in annoyance, what could possibly be his problem, everything had seemed fine this morning, he even teased me that if I had "my lazy days" for 2 weeks straight, I gain weight like Michelin Man.

I took out my headphones and played Charlie Puth's "I won't tell a soul" which seemed to be working until my sister decided to give me a video call.

"what's up baby sis," she said immediately the call connected

"what did you call me?" I asked scrunching my face

"hey girl, that is not how you talk to your senior, you get what I'm saying?" she tried to fake an American accent in the last sentence.

"ok that's it, why on Earth are you talking like that?" I asked

"Ain't that the way you do things over there in the States? Well in case you ain't got no clue, that's how it's done,"

"I'm going to help you hang up, I think I'm done seeing weird things today."

"hold on a sec girl, don't hang up on me."

"oh God! Just because I had a lazy day yesterday so many stupid and weird things are happening today. First Juliet want to learn hip hop dance, then I find a torture room in the house I live, then Jade gets angry at me for no reason and now my second sister has gone gaga because she thinks that's how things are done here. Why is everyone just trying to get under my skin today, it's so annoying." I said pulling my hair.

"Did you and Jade have couple's fight? aww so cute. And by the way what is it you were saying about a torturing room in the house you live?" my sister asked.

"did I really say that aloud?" I asked

"yeah dummy, I'm talking about it too which means you said it aloud," my sister replied, "so tell me the juicy gossip"

"well, it's complicated,"

"ooh, I love complicated stories, you know I should call big sis. As the saying goes, '4 ears are better than 2'," she said

"I'm pretty much sure I haven't heard of that saying before," I said

"yeah yeah whatever, sis? come quick, Ukpono has some juicy gossip for us," she called my eldest sister.

"be right there, anything to get me from my weird sister sister in-law to be. Umm UT, what do we call the sister to our sister in-law to be?" I heard my eldest sister blab

"I don't know, are you going to come here or you will stay there and nag like an old woman whose goat was stolen," my second sister said.

Oh, I missed their playful insults and pranks, I miss home.

"How's it goin' over there? I hear you got us some juicy gossip, speak up or forever hold your peace," my eldest sister said

"And you said the sister to our brother's wife to be is acting weird. Are you sure mother didn't hit your head somewhere when you were a baby?" I teased and we all laughed.

"oh I've missed this, but seriously girl what's the juicy gossip?" my eldest sister asked.

I told them everything, right from when Christy came to the "kidnapping" incident and my hospitalization, and today's incident with Jade. "Wow and you didn't tell us about this 'kidnapping' incident because?" my eldest sister asked

"I was scared you might tell mother and father," I replied

"girl, you're living with a sexy single father in a mansion and we helped cover for you that you were in a hostel, do you really think we'll rat on you now?" my second sister asked and I shook my head.

"anyway, that's not the issue, the issue now is the way Jade talked to you, he was totally upset about something and he was putting his anger on you which is wrong. you don't need to be angry, he'll come around," my eldest sister advised.

"you really think so?" I asked and they nodded, we talked about other things and ended the call. I took my book to continue when Juliet came in, "sorry Mommy UK" she said.

"why are you apologising?"

"for daddy, sorry I heard you on the phone. please don't be mad at him anymore,"

"don't worry honey I won't."

"Mommy UK, there's one more thing. Daddy has a special name he calls me sometimes, he calls me 'my lighthouse' how about you Mommy UK, what will you call me?" she asked

"hmmm I'll call you 'Eyen mmi'," I replied

"what does that mean?"

"it means 'my daughter' "

"so I'm your daughter now?" she asked

"yeah, we can say that. you've been calling me Mommy UK for sometime now, let's make it balance," I replied

"can I hug you Mommy UK?"

"of course honey, come over here,"

she climbed on my lap and hugged me, "I love you Mommy UK,"

"I love you too my daughter,"

It felt so good calling her that, I turned to see Jade looking at me, our eyes locked for few seconds and then he left, he looked a bit... Jealous.
