I was about to make another verbal combat when Jade, Penelope's father and the attorney returned, Jade's smiling face made me know that everything went smoothly.

"Father...?"

"I'm sorry," Penelope's father apologized to her, "my conscience would not allow me to separate these people who care so much about each other Pene,"

"But it will allow you to hurt your daughter on her birthday... father how could you? I am your daughter for crying out loud, I should be the one getting favours from you not outsiders," Penelope ranted and went on and on about how her father disappointed her.

"I'm sorry Mr Jordan but we have to go now, it late," Jade said, interrupting Penelope. "of course Mr Kale, the main event is over, you can go. And Miss U..."

"Ukpono," I completed

"I'm sorry for attempting to destroy your marriage before it began, please don't be mad at me," Penelope's father said.

"you don't need to worry sir, I'm perfectly fine," I replied.

After saying goodbyes, we went out to see Scott waiting, the drive back home was in pleasant silent. "Jade, you never told me what happened to your mother," I said. "oh yeah, she went to New Jersey to be with my sister, Leila," he replied.

"Wait... you have a sister?" I asked

"I told you the first time we chatted," he replied

"I can't remember," I told him

"do you remember scolding me when I said I hated blacks?"

My cheeks heated in embarrassment when I remembered that chat, "how could I forget, it was really annoying"

"I told you my mother stayed in Florida with my sister,"

"yeah I remember something like that, so your sister is now in New Jersey?" I asked

"oh no, I have 2 sisters, Leila and Tiffany, they are twins, Leila took over my father's automobile company in New Jersey while Tiffany who was and is still hot headed, inherited the Taekwondo Academy for Youngsters in Florida." He explained

"wow, your father was really into a lot of things, so you got the perfume company?" I asked

"nope, that's my personal business. I got the house and other things." he replied

"There is something I want to do," I said

"what is it?"

"I don't want to do anything tomorrow. I want to have tomorrow all to myself, I want to sleep in till 11am then have an early lunch, watch movie on my phone and sleep again, then read few chapters of my novel, maybe do a little baking. I just want to eat and sleep tomorrow, it's been ages since I did that, please..."

"you don't need to beg me, you deserve to have a day all to yourself."

"thank you honey," I said.

when we got home, Juliet was fast asleep on my bed, I didn't want to wake her so I freshen up and join her, I made sure my alarm was off and then went to sleep.

If my phone didn't ring, maybe I wouldn't have woken up the time I did, it was my sister, "hey how are you?" I drawled

"Ukpono is today one of your lazy days?" she asked

"uh huh''

"well you can go back to sleep after I tell you this news,"

"what news?

"Suto is getting married!" she screamed

"oh my God that is good news, I wish I could attend. Suto is my older brother. I chatted for a while with my sister, I couldn't go back to sleep after again so I went to the kitchen, I made spaghetti and tomato sauce for myself. As I walked to my room with a plate of spaghetti, I met Juliet waiting for me in front of my room. "mommy UK are you alright?" she asked."of course, I'm fine, why did you ask?"

"You woke up really late and even when I called you didn't answer, I was scared"

"sorry about that, honey. I was really tired"

she left and came back to my room with fork, "I wanna eat with you," she said

"sure hun, join me."

Later in the day, I made cupcakes for everyone, I had 4 pieces and then went back to sleep. Just as I planned, I did nothing but eat and sleep. I did watch a movie I downloaded once but didn't complete it as I was feeling sleepy.

Sunday morning I was up and doing.

Woke up early for my morning run, had breakfast of hot cocoa and bacon, did few laundry, learned to knit. I even helped Juliet pick flowers for the house, after sorting them to different rooms in the house, I went to the library.

"mommy UK, can you teach me how to dance?" Juliet asked as she came into the library

"dance?"

"yes. I told daddy I wanted to learn how to dance to hip hop music and not ballet like other girls, he said I should ask you that you can dance very well. Will you teach me? please... please... please... please... please......" she pleaded. How could I say no?

"Of course honey, I will teach you how to dance, I bet you will be dancing like a pro in no time," I said.

"that's so good mommy UK, I can't wait to start," she said eagerly

"when should we start?" I asked

"right away, please?"

"alright, alright, go change into something good. Probably a yoga pants and a nice top." I said and she ran off change.

I closed the book I was reading and went to change into something that will allow me dance freely. It was one of my exercise clothes, and a pair of sneakers.

"Alright honey, come on let's start," I called Juliet. She came out wearing a maxi polo, which she had pull the right hand side down to her arm and tied the left end, With a pair of black yoga pants and white sneakers and her hair in a ponytail.

"all done mommy UK, how do I look?"

"it's fantastic, just one more thing," I said and pulled her hair band making her hair fall, "this is not ballet that you need to look perfect and made up like a doll. In hip hop dance, you need to look a bit wild."

We went outside, I played "my type" by Saweetie. We danced for hours, and she didn't seem tired, "mommy UK, why don't you call daddy, I want him to see me dance,"

"great idea," I said and went in to call Jade.

"Jade? Jade where are you?" I called. I searched the living room but he wasn't there, he wasn't in his room or study or gym. As I walked down the hallway going to meet Juliet, I heard a noise like someone groaning in pain, I followed the noise to a room, and saw something strange, a woman tied with her hands and feet apart. There was something odd about this woman, wait... does this woman have red hair of my eyes were deceiving me?

I went into the room, I didn't pay attention to anything else except this woman with red hair, she was all beaten and bruised. Her face was swollen but it looked familiar... I know that face. This is surely the redhead woman Jade left with at the club and she was no other person but... CHRISTY?
