Chapter 232: Chapter 232: The Sky from Thousands of Years Ago?

Even viewing the scene inside the Eternal Night Dome through the Magic Net was incredibly striking. For those actually there, it was naturally even more shocking.

Maybe it was just their imagination, but the moment they entered this space, they felt this sense of vast, boundless expanse.

The whole space seemed to be floating in endless void. No clear ground or ceiling—everything wrapped in darkness, but with tons of starlight scattered throughout.

Anyone who regularly observed the stars would immediately recognize that these lights were a perfect replica of the sky, even their movement patterns matching exactly what you’d see in the real night sky.

For some reason, there was also this thin layer of mist in the space, glowing with a hazy light that gave everything this mysterious, unknowable feeling.

Maybe it was their imagination, but they could hear these low, ethereal sounds—like wind, or maybe something more natural. Sometimes clear, sometimes faint, as if coming from some distant time and space.

"Lord Starweaver..."

Someone started to ask, but the Starweaver’s voice cut in: "This is a simulated environment based on star observations by our predecessors, used for teaching lower-level stargazers. There’s no treasure here, just environmental education. Let’s go inside... Stay close to me and don’t wander off. Some of the security measures here have activated. If you die, don’t blame me."

With that, the Starweaver walked forward without looking back. In what seemed like empty space, there was actually a hidden bridge that was completely invisible...

At first, people on site and viewers in the livestream didn’t believe there was any bridge. They figured the Starweaver was being dramatic—probably just an illusion covering the real space.

But when someone tentatively put their foot toward an outer area and got their foot pierced clean through by a corrosive dark magic arrow, nobody dared try again.

The Eternal Night Dome seemed more dangerous than they’d imagined.

Right at the entrance, there was already a trap like this!

Even a legendary expert couldn’t handle it.

The Starweaver didn’t seem bothered by their testing. Actually, he was curious too—after all these years, did the stuff recorded in the documents actually work? Someone willing to sacrifice themselves to satisfy his curiosity? Why would he stop them?

"Don’t worry, only this first floor is dangerous. It’s basically the Eternal Night Dome’s test and exam for members. Anyone who’s practiced some of our traditional Eternal Night City magic should have no problem passing."

After reaching the center, the Starweaver turned to everyone: "This is an elevator that can take us to other floors. Not sure if it still works though. If not, we’ll have to force our way..."

Before the Starweaver could finish, everyone had already made it to the center.

Before he could say more, suddenly the arrangement of stars around them changed dramatically. In just a few blinks, these stars transformed—just like a Magic Net livestream—into a massive display.

A 360-degree rotating super screen.

Standing in the middle, no matter which direction they looked, they’d see enormous pillars rising up, as if supporting the entire Eternal Night Dome.

Some people were about to ask the Starweaver about it when chairs appeared in front of each pillar.

On each chair sat what looked like a huge stone statue.

"These people... seem to be the founding team of the Eternal Night Dome."

The Starweaver swallowed hard and pulled out a scroll. The figures on it matched these light-formed stone statues exactly!

What was going on?

This couldn’t be some reward screen for passing the test, right?

A bunch of former big shots showing up to give encouragement?

That seemed really off.

The Starweaver’s brain raced. He even wondered if they should retreat—the situation here seemed slightly different from what they knew.

But before he could decide, the stone on those statues started falling off like rain, revealing human-like bodies underneath.

"Not long ago, a mysterious signal came through. Intermittent, but very clear. I can confirm this sound came from very far away, but we can’t determine where, or what the sender’s purpose is. We can’t even decode what the signal means."

An elderly man with white hair and an incredibly long beard spoke in a voice dry as kindling, telling the others about this major recent event.

"Still haven’t decoded it? Should I find some experts in codes?"

"If possible, I’d like more people working on this. This is incredibly important. Ever since that signal arrived, I’ve clearly noticed that the stone, and our creations, have started getting restless—vibrating at almost the same frequency as that sound..."

Watching the scene, hearing the voices, everyone’s face showed deep shock and amazement!

They’d wanted to know why a force like the Eternal Night Dome had suddenly disappeared. They’d wondered if these things might hold the secrets they were looking for. But they never expected that before the Eternal Night Dome was completely destroyed, something like this had happened!

A signal from beyond the planet.

Some bizarre fluctuations.

Everyone became obsessed with decoding this signal. Even their favorite stargazing decreased in frequency. But despite all that, at each monthly meeting, the result was always the same—they couldn’t decode what the signal meant.

As time passed, meeting after meeting, these Eternal Night Dome leaders seemed to grow more and more irritable.

Finally, at the fourteenth meeting, two legendary magicians started fighting.

Every meeting after that was the same.

The arguments between them kept growing. They seemed to have endless things to fight about... They’d gone insane!

They all went crazy trying to decode a single signal?!

Unbelievable!

Everyone’s face showed complete disbelief.

But the scene really seemed to be showing exactly that.

After who knows how long of silence, the Starweaver suddenly spoke: "We have no proof whether this video is real or fake. Now that it’s finished playing, we should head upstairs. There’s nothing we need on this floor."

His words immediately snapped everyone out of their shock.

"Right, whatever happened back then, our mission now is to explore this area." A cleric from the Church of Hunting also came to his senses and nodded in agreement. "Maybe as we explore, we’ll discover even more secrets!"
