Chapter 42: Chapter 42

A month passed by and Davion started going to work in case of emergencies although he was bound to his wheelchair. Most of the time, Colton came over to their house to consult Davion since he usually worked from home. Two weeks back Victoria suddenly returned back to Las Vegas without even informing Sofia. She found it strange since they usually never hid anything from one another. Sofia had been too busy with Davion to notice but she somehow had the feeling that it had something to do with Colton. But she didn't probe into their business. If Victoria wanted to tell her, she would.

Sofia helped him with his physiotherapies although Terence came regularly to treat Davion. He was amazed at Davion's improvement in such a short span of time. "It's all for Sofia. Can you get me up on my feet in a month?" asked Davion eagerly.

"I'll do my best, Davion but you have to be patient. These things cannot be hurried," said Terence, making Davion feel frustrated but he knew that Terence was right. He would have to take one day at a time.

Two months passed by and Davion started making an immense progress. Although he couldn't stand or walk yet, he had gained strength in his legs and could move them without feeling any pain. His upper body was completely fit and they could make out frequently. Although they didn't make love, yet they felt more connected to one another, more in love with one another than ever before.

Sofia's pregnancy was going quite well and she looked rounded and pregnant. Her ultrasound was due and Davion wanted to accompany her this time. He was more eager to hear his baby's heartbeats than Sofia. Sofia was baffled at this change in Davion's outlook of life. Was he the same man who had sworn never to have children in life?

"Ready?" He asked with a grin as he sat in his wheelchair all dressed to go out. They had shifted to a huge suite room downstairs due to Davion's injury and Sofia's pregnancy. So Davion was able to move freely in his wheelchair to his study to work and didn't need to summon his attendant all the time.

"Yeah, let's go," said Sofia, breathlessly.

Francis and David helped him to the car and they sped along to the clinic. They didn't need to wait for long at the clinic. Davion was so overwhelmed hearing Celestine's heartbeats that he had tears of happiness in his eyes. It was a different experience for Sofia this time. She had always visited on her own but this time she was with her husband and they both held hands and shared a moment of joy together. Afterwards, they went home, feeling complete and blissfully happy.

"The sonographer said that Celestine can hear us. Do you think she can recognize me by now?" Asked Davion as they reached their room.

"Yes, she can hear everything," said Sofia with a smile.

"Then I need to talk to her so that when she comes out, she can instantly bond with me, right?" Asked Davion with excitement.

"Yeah, you can talk to her, you can sing to her," suggested Sofia.

Davion pulled her closer to his wheelchair so that her abdomen was nearer to him and burst into the song "Baby" by Justin Bieber, modifying it a little. Sofia rolled her eyes with a wide grin on her face.

"Seriously? That's a love song for your kind information, " she pointed out although she had to accept that he did sing quite nicely.

"No, I modified it to fit my little girl. I'm sure she'll love it," said Davion, looking hurt. Sofia grinned and pinched his cheeks.

"I'm jealous. You never ever sang for me," she said with a pout, walking away from him towards the door. Davion looked taken aback as he realized that it was true. He never sang for her.

"I'm not very good at this but I know just the song for you," he said. Clearing his throat, he sang the beautiful song, "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" by Elvis Presley. Sofia was mesmerized by the warmth in his voice. It seemed as if he meant each and every word he sang. She clutched at her heart with happy tears in her eyes listening to his deep and soulful voice. She went to him and wrapped him in her arms when he finished. She was overwhelmed by the intensity of his feelings for her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and stared deeply into his eyes, with her eyes brimming with happy tears.

"I love you so much, Davion. I'm so glad that God has given me this chance to spend my life with you. Don't lose heart at all. If not in a month's time, I'm sure that you can walk soon. It doesn't matter. What matters is that we love one another and we are always there with each other, " she whispered, kissing his neck.

"I know, baby. So tell me how much you loved my song? This is the first time I sang for someone," he admitted, staring deeply into her eyes. Sofia was touched by his admission.

"I loved it. This is the first time someone sang a song for me. I'm deeply touched," she told him honestly. Davion's eyes blazed with fire, as he stared at her lips longingly.

"Kiss me and show me how much," he said in a husky whisper. Sofia obliged him and leaned down to claim his lips in a passionate kiss. Davion opened his mouth to her and she deepened the kiss to a new level but Davion couldn't restrain himself any longer. His arm wrapped around her waist and he pulled her as close to his body as possible. His mouth dominated hers and soon the kiss turned wild as both couldn't get enough of the other. Suddenly Sofia winced with pain and Davion released her with a questioning look on his face.

"Oh my! Your daughter just kicked me!" She gasped, breaking the kiss. Davion's eyes widened with disbelief.

"The little munchkin! I'm sure that she's jealous 'coz I sang for you, " said Davion with a grin.
