Chapter 41: Chapter 41

The lady from the coasters was feeling extremely shocked.

The news about Edward's post and the fact that someone was actively working against her and her cohort came as a real shock to her.

"Who the hell could that be?" She muttered, her devilish face twisting in anger.

"I have no idea," Richard answered. He too was confused.

"But it's not bad, " Richard added. "No one can discover you, remember? You're the Lady from the Coasters. It's just a matter of time before we discover this person and take him or her down."

Richard's words did get to her head cause she felt her pride rising to its brink again.

"Right from time, I've set my mind to destroy Daisy and I will," she muttered haughtily and eerily while her eyes travelled through the evil-looking room.

Finally, her eyes landed on the casket just at the end of the room covered with white clothing and a devilish smile formed on her lips.

"If she can't get ruined by the internet backlash, then this should do the work," she chuckled darkly.

"What's that?" Richard asked.

"Josh's corpse," she answered coldly.

Then she slowly walked her legs to the casket and pulled off the white clothing.

"I have every evidence and manipulation to proof that she killed Josh to cover up for cheating and Edward probably does not know she actually did cheat," she stated.

"And I have her current medical record that proves she is mentally ill," Josh backed up her claim immediately.

The lady smiled as her eyes radiated evil. She was loving this new story.

She picked up a pair of cream-coloured rubber gloves and put them on. Now, she wasn't staying away from touching this corpse.

Squatting in front of the casket, she placed her gloved hands over it, ready to open the casket.

"Here is the story," she began.

"Daisy has been mentally ill since only God knows when which her dad had been trying to manage and keep a secret. It made her act irrationally, what a pity. But now, she cheated on her boyfriend on their anniversary night and killed Josh to cover up. It seems Mr Louis can no longer handle his daughter's predicament as his daughter is now going around killing people irrationally all in the name of mental illness. Sad."

After finishing her narration, she laughed wickedly at her self-made narration.

Sarah who lay on the iron table and heard all she said could not help but widen her eyes in shock.

She could not help but wonder who this lady and her people are and why they are this evil. What's more, why she is so against Daisy?

She really did wish she could expose her but even her life is on the line right now.

"That was very brilliant," Richard praised. "That would do."

"She might just end up committing suicide. And even if she doesn't, Daisy would never be able to raise her shoulders again. She would be reduced to nothing and she might even lose her mind in the end."

Richard's words sounded like music in her ears and it made her really pleased.

Feeling really confident that this would work, with a wicked grin spreading across her face, she slowly lifted the lid of the pristine white casket. A sense of triumph welled up within her as she began to anticipate the fulfilment of her sinister plan.

But as her gloved fingers curled around the cold body lying within an unexpected chill ran down her spine.

Her touch met with an uncanny sensation, something strange. It was as if the lifeless figure lying before her possessed an otherworldly quality. Intrigued and puzzled, she ran her hands over the contours of the body, her fingers tracing the delicate curves and edges.

A surge of curiosity coursed through her and her eyes widened slightly.

She began to examine the body more closely, her gaze fixated on the intricate details that had eluded her until now. Something she did not do when the body was freshly brought in here. Her eyes widened the more as she noticed the subtle seams along the figure's limbs, the hidden mechanisms concealed within the flawless skin.

A wave of realization crashed over her as realised something, shattering her meticulously laid plans. This wasn't a corpse at all; it was a cunningly crafted cyborg, a fucking cyborg!!

An artificial human creation designed to deceive and mislead her.

And it did.

She was so shocked that she immediately rose to her feet and stepped backwards, and anger was beginning to brew through every pore of her body.

A whirlwind of questions swirled in her mind.

'Who had orchestrated this elaborate ruse? Who had misled her with this mechanical impostor? And most importantly, how had she fallen victim to such a deceptive ploy?

Whosoever working against her was indeed powerful and no doubt, steps ahead of her. The true depths of her adversary's power were still shrouded in her blindness.

For the first time after a very long time, something got her really anxious.

Her men have a lot to answer for this!!

How had they brought in a cyborg? Or, one of her men or all are probably working against her now.

Thinking about all this, her face twisted.

Her malevolent smile had long faded. The tables really had turned.

There is a greater mastermind.

In a posh Australian restaurant, amidst the elegant ambience, a slim and handsome man sat sipping his coffee. He exuded an air of sophistication.

A subordinate suddenly approached him and urgently etched his face to his face telling him he has an important call.

Well, the caller's name alone sent a shiver down his spine.

The caller was Wesley Maxwell.

The elegant handsome man is Josh, the real Josh and he had become ensnared in Wesley's scheme that demanded his unwavering obedience.

That day at the warehouse, Wesley had secretly informed his men to take Josh somewhere where he had injected something into him. Something that required Josh's compliance week after week cause only Wesley has the antidote to stave off its effects.

Wesley had procured this substance in a syringe from his friend's girlfriend's renowned laboratory. The girl is the owner of one of the biggest scientific marvels in the world.

As the phone connected, Josh's heart raced.

But even though he is more like a game played by Wesley now, a puppet controlled by invisible strings, he also does know how to play games too.

While Wesley knew the true nature of the substance that coursed through his veins and only he held the key to its removal, he also had answers to questions Wesley wants.

"What else are you not telling me or won't tell me now? Daisy is not fine," Wesley stated.

After a brief pause, Josh finally gave an answer.

"She probably is becoming more and more mentally ill."

Wesley was shocked by the answer and for the hundredth time, he asked again, "Who exactly is this lady from the coasters?"

"I really still don't trust you yet to release me unharmed once I give you that answer," Josh answered with a scoff.

"You really might still kill me. I don't trust you."

Breathing out a sigh, Wesley narrowed his eyes before saying, "And what makes you think Daisy is that important to me?" Wesley scoffed too.

"She might not be that important, but Andrew is. Sarah is involved in this whole scene after all," he hit the spot mercilessly that Wesley could not help but chuckle darkly.

The call ended and Josh stared into space. He is simply trying to play his card well.

He really does wish he can just disappear from all this, but he unfortunately can't.

Besides, what if he has to take sides with the Lady from the Coasters tomorrow?

She is evil just the way he likes it. But for now, he would remain under whoever has control over him.

If only he knows he would have died in the hands of this same Lady from the Coasters if not because Wesley orchestrating a cyborg to mislead her. This means Wesley is way more steps ahead than he is aware.

On the other end, Wesley was surprised and wondered why Daisy would suddenly get mentally ill all of a sudden.

But then, remembering the info about Daisy's recent activities given to him by his men, an info that stated that during the slander period, she was being looked after by a doctor in Rose's house.

Realising something, Wesley tilted his head slightly.

"This definitely has something to do with that doctor. I'll get him first," he muttered.
