Chapter 29: Chapter 29
TOBY.
The look on Ruby's face when I walk into the room was priceless. It was funny how Ruby was asking her little sister how to wear what seemed to be lingerie. Who was she going to wear it for, definitely not me? I smirked as I watched her hide her lingerie, embarrassing her had got to be my new favourite pass time. It was just so fun.
"Oh, hi Toby," Sapphire said, turning towards me, finally noticing my entrance.
"Hi dear, how are you?" I answered.
"I'm fine and I can see that you are well." She said as she walked towards the door.
"Let me give you both some privacy." She said as she dashed out the door, "goodbye guys."
"Traitor," Ruby muttered.
"Why didn't you tell me you were leaving?" I asked Ruby as I walked into the room and began to undress.
"I didn't think it was any of your business." She answered
"Touche!" I said as she walks out the door.

The next morning I woke up before Ruby and thankfully there was no repeat of the last incident during the night. We both slept on our respective sides. I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and I had to blink at the sight that greeted me in the mirror. Whiskers were painted on both sides of my mouth. I checked again and again and it was still there. I tried to rub them out with my hands but they wouldn't budge. I tried using just water and then soap but it wouldn't work.
"Ruby!" I yelled.
I marched towards the room, then the living room and every corner of the room but she was nowhere to be found. I didn't have time to play hide and seek. The opening ceremony was today, how would I show up like a character from a children's book?
"Think, think…" I said, tapping my head trying to think of a solution and then it clicked, I needed a make-up artist to cover this up or some kind of solution that can clean this. A make-up artist should be easier to find.
I dialed Aiden's phone number and he picked up almost immediately. "Hello, Aiden, get a make-up artist and head to my suite asap." I hung up the call before he could give a reply.
I left the main door open so they can have access to my suite. Then I headed to the room to shower and dress up. The moment Aiden saw me, he bursted out laughing and the young woman that sat beside him with her huge makeup box by her feet tried her best to suppress her laughter but failed.
"I'm glad you guys are finding this funny, my wife would be pleased."
"Ruby did this?" Aiden managed to ask before more laughter overtook him again.
"Make yourself useful by getting on the internet and finding something that can take this out and have it delivered here as fast as possible," I said glaring at Aiden.
"Aye aye captain!" He said, giving me a mock salute.
"And you, don't just sit there, come fix my face and make it look as natural as possible. I don't want anyone even suspecting I have makeup on." I said to the make-up artist.
"Ok, sir." She replied jumping off her seat.
She unpacked her bag and began to work on my face. She applied a layer of what she called a concealer to the marks, then a thin layer of foundation on my entire face and then finishes with the setting spray and it all suddenly made me feel uncomfortably hot.
"Are you sure this won't just all melt in the sun?" I asked her.
"No, it won't, you are safe to go out in the sun."
It looked like I was the last to arrive at the Resort gates for the opening ceremony, I was not that late but I was not early either. I spotted Ruby and Sapphire in a corner having a whispered conversation punctuated with girlish giggles, they must be gossiping as usual. My mom waved me over once she spotted me, "Where have you been for so long?" She questioned, giving me a disapproving look.
"Good morning to you too, mom, I had something taken care of."
"Good morning, my boy, now that you are here, our big day can begin." She said and immediately attempted to gain my dad's attention. On sighting me, dad sent a look of disapproval my way and motioned to someone at the sidelines for the show to begin.
"Please can we all be seated in our appropriate seats. You will find your name written on the seat that is meant for you". The master of the ceremony announced into the microphone in his hands.
Seats were arranged in front of the resort gate that was currently tied with a large fancy ribbon with a large pair of scissors to match sitting on a table beside the gates.
I found my name written on a chair beside Ruby's and the puzzled look on her face told me she was guilty of mutilating my face, also the fact that she was the only one who had access to our room was proof enough. When we took our seats, she studied my face for a few seconds before understanding seemed to dawn on her.
"Nice makeup." She said with a smirk.
"Thank you." I answered her through gritted teeth."You're quite the artist, aren't you?"
"Quiet dear, the ceremony is starting." She whispered.
Several long speeches later, the ribbon was finally cut and we were in the garden enjoying a nice reception, everything was going well until I spotted Yasmin making her way towards my mum. I told the damn girl to stay out of sight. It seemed like she took so much pleasure in making me upset.
"You look gorgeous as always Mrs Daniels." I heard Yasmin say as I close in on them.
"Call me Clara dear, the same can be said about you. She is always a lovely sight to behold, don't you think so Toby?" My Mother said drawing me into their conversation. It was obvious that she liked her but then her opinion didn't matter, only dad's did. That, or she liked her just because she knew that she was my girlfriend of some sort.
"Yes, just lovely," I said, smiling.
"I would love to work with you on my clothing brand. You take modelling and influencing Jobs don't you?"
"Of course, I do," Yasmin said, sounding very excited.
"I have a new line coming out soon. You and I will discuss the details later but as for the business side of things, Toby is in charge, everything about your fees and terms of service, all that headache, meet Toby then you and I will get to the fun part of things."
"Thank you so much, Clara. It's been my dream for the longest time to work with you."
"Well, dreams do come true." My mother said with the widest smile on her face.
I watched from the sidelines as Yasmin inflated my mom's ego, thinking the worst was behind me till I spotted my father approaching our little circle with a scowl on his face.
