Chapter 102: Chapter 102

YASMIN.

"You'll regret this," I said to him before leaving to go pack my stuff and I meant every word of it. He was going to regret throwing me out of the house like that and because of what? Just because I took a couple of pictures of his divorce papers and sold them to the blogs?

'Oh please, the information was going to get out anyway. So what if I helped the process go faster?'

He was so angry, it surprised me. I have never seen him that angry before.

"Start packing, we are leaving," I said to my mother.

"What did you do again? I was starting to like him," she said. I didn't reply, I just kept packing so she asked the same question again, "what did you do?"

"I only helped him announce his divorce," I said.

"You what? How crazy would you get? Giving out the man's personal information," she said.

"You can keep ranting or start parking, either way he will have us thrown out in minutes."

"You mean he'll have you thrown out because I know for certain that he won't throw me or Toby out."

"I brought you here, you think he will let you stay?"

"I do."

"Well then, let's go ahead and find out," I said to mask my hurt. I turn away from her and continue packing my things. She joins me, "what are you doing?"

"You might be annoying as hell and way too busy making all the wrong choices but you are my daughter and I love you. I'm on your side, now and always no matter how crazy or bull-headed you are," she said. I give her a quick hug and get back to work. I wanted to thank her but I just knew that any attempt at speaking at the mine would just lead to tears.

"Where did I go wrong with this child," I heard her mumble under her breath. I glared at her but she just ignored me.

In less than an hour, we were packed up and out just the way we came. With a little less of my cunningness and wisdom this time around.

When coming in, I had convinced the security and everyone else that Toby was expecting me and if they didn't let me in then their jobs would be on the line. It was easy to pull off, all it took was a little confidence and a lot of intimidation.

I was leaving but part of my mission had been a success, I might not have gotten back in Toby's good graces but I got the servants whispering, they were all saying he was my baby daddy. That would lend more credibility to my story when it broke in a few days.

I was currently on the set of the daytime talk show where I first announced my baby's birth, sweating buckets backstage. I usually wasn't this nervous but the gravity of what I was about to do was weighing me down on me. It could all go sideways for me. I had to paint myself in the best light possible and Ruby in the worst. My makeup got another quick touch-up and I got the signal to move on stage. I confidently strutted in, the crowd cheering loudly. The sequence on my dress caught the light with every move I made.

"Today, we have a star amongst us who has called us to have her voice heard, and yes, it's no one other than the Hollywood sweetheart, Yasmin Blake," the host announced in her preppy voice. The crowd was revitalized again. We embraced as they cheered us on. All the shouting finally died down as we settled to talk.

"Yasmin, it's great to have you on the show, again," she said.

"Thank you, I'm happy to be back here too." I said graciously.

"How have you been?" she asked.

"I've been good and moving."

"Why don't we dive right into why you're here then?" I nod in answer to her question, my heart beating faster than the drums in a marching band. She didn't need any answer, she was already speaking, "last time we were here like this, you promised us the exclusive on the identity of your baby daddy, it seems as me like you're ready to give it."

"Yeah," I answered as confidently as I could but my voice sounded all shaky to my ears.

"So who is he?"

"Uh... My son belongs to the same man that everybody had probably guessed already. My son is named after his father, Toby Daniels."

"You've got to be kidding, right? No judgement here but he is practically married, happily, might I add."

"No jokes here, we all know that Toby and I have been dating way before Ruby came into the picture, we may keep saying we weren't to the public but I'm sure the public isn't even that dumb."

"Do you think that excuse what you did then? You both? The fact still remains that he didn't marry you but Ruby Daniel's and they are happily married, why is it jeopardized by you... and uh... him?

"I'm not looking for excuses for my actions but I think the world needs to know that they've been bamboozled by Toby and Ruby right from the start."

"What do you mean by that statement?"

"Their marriage was arranged and Ruby is a low-down schemer," I said, my statement causing whispers to reverberate throughout the room.

The host let it sink in for a few seconds before she said, "we need a huge clarity on these heavy accusations."

"Toby and I have been dating for a long time but his father had ideas about who Toby should marry, he rejected me as a good choice for his son and brought Ruby into the picture. Ruby was only supposed to be a temporary fixture, the marriage was a means to an end but Ruby had another plan. She threatened him to stay with him and all that, she was very scheming and manipulative. He's with her against his own wish." I narrated, the host and the audience listened on with rapt attention.

"Uh... that's such a uh... interesting story." She said. My brows scrunched up in irritation, she sounded like she didn't believe me. I wanted to hit her with a comeback but I came up empty.

"Are you the reason for their recent divorce then?"

"I'm not the reason for their divorce, it was supposed to take place right from the beginning. It should have happened earlier than this but Ruby kept trying to push it back, with more and more threats, who can blame her? My Toby is an amazing guy, any female would die to have."

"So are you both back together now?"

"Yes, we are back stronger and better than before."

"What I don't get is why you left. If all this was going on, I'd want to stay and fight for my man, so why leave, Yasmin?"

"The original reason I gave for leaving is still the same, I wanted time away from everything to enjoy that special moment in my life in private. I also just wanted to gain clarity on the whole situation."

"Leaving, was that something you arrived on, on your own or did you and Toby decide on it together?"

"I decided to leave all on my own, Toby begged me to stay actually, he was so locked up in a marriage he didn't want to be. I was the only one he could confide in but then, even I needed closure at a point in time, you know?" I said, dramatically.

"Wow, it must have been so hard for him."

"Mhmm, very. He was depressed and all, and still had to put up with the fake happy marriage life the public expected from him. It was tough for us both."

I went on and on, adding things that were obviously very false and making sure to pin more falsified informations on Ruby and by the time I was done, I had succeeded in painting Toby's Father as a abusive father and controller while I painted Ruby as a manipulative and obsessed bitch.

Mission accomplished.
