Chapter 67: Chapter 67

Natasha's POV

I was beyond surprised by the powers Fernandez now possessed. Back then in the dungeon, he had this thing, something I can't really place my fingers on but it was definitely not these powers of his.

"I heard you got banished." He said staring at me.

I gave a bitter smile. "You really saw it coming right?" I asked him.

"It's better than death, am I right?" He said and his eyes twinkled. I shrugged. Yeah, it was way better than death.

"So what're you doing now or rather, what have you been doing since your banishment?" He asked.

"Roaming around. I'm now an outcast. I belong to no pack and you?" I asked. He began to speak but I interrupted him. "Wait let me guess, you got banished too?" I said, judging the situation without waiting for his response.

He laughed. A peal of laughter that was different from what I'd heard before. "You're not quite correct in that aspect Nat. You were banished but I, on the other hand, was given no punishment whatsoever." He said smirking.

I raised a brow. "Ava just let you go just like that?" I questioned in disbelief. I mean, he tried to kill her husband. Why was I the only one to suffer for such atrocity?

He moved a few spaces aside. "Let's just say I am lucky since I still haven't returned to the pack house." He said.

"She'd have your head on a stake the moment she sets her eyes on you," I said.

Instead of fear in his eyes, all I saw was a glint of evilness and a mischievous smile dancing on his face. "Oh, I doubt that Natasha. Ava won't be able to handle what's about to hit her." He said with that irk smile still on his face.

He moved closer to me. "Tell me, Natasha, how badly do you want to have your revenge on Skye and the love of his life, Ava?" He asked.

At the mention of that, I felt angry as I remembered how I was tossed out of the blood moon pack house like a bag of oat. "More than you can ever think of," I said and he swiped my hair to one side of my neck and placed a finger on it as he whispered. "That's right." He said and I felt a burning where he placed his finger.

Skye's POV

It's been days since Ava dumped me. Our marriage was not officially annulled. According to the law, we were still married but separated. Since that day, I haven't set eyes on her. I was busy drowning myself in alcohol and women. If she opened her mind to link with mine, she'd know of all my adulterous ways these past few days. In my angry and devastated state, I had forbade the speaking of her name in the pack house or anywhere around me despite the hurt I felt inside.

And yet again, just like every other night since I was dumped, I was in the arms of another woman to satisfy my lustful cravings but just like before, there was an emptiness in me they couldn't fill. I had decided to stay away from Ava if that's what it took for her to clear her mind and tell me what she really wanted.

I missed her a lot. I missed her so much that my loins ached and my heart felt heavy. Despite burying myself in the arms of other women, it didn't fill the emptiness she left inside of me. They were not Ava. Only she could make me whole.

Just then I heard a rapid knocking on the door. With a grudge, I stood up and went towards the door clad only in shorts and a woman still laying naked on my bed.

"Yes?" I asked grumpily as I opened the door and saw Anna standing before me.

"Alpha," she began.

"What do you want?" I demanded impatiently.

She lowered her head and turned to leave and then stopped. She turned back to me. What was wrong with her this morning? Or was everyone suddenly crazy? I wondered.

"Speak of what brings you here Anna otherwise leave," I said to her.

For the first time, she raised her head and stared at me dead in the eyes. "I'm here to speak about the queen." She said.

I stared at her. "Haven't I forbade you and the others from saying her name to me?" I asked her, trying to mask my anguish with anger. I turned to slam the door but she stopped me. I stared at her in surprise. The Anna I knew wasn't even bold enough to look me in the eye. Now she was challenging me?

"Please alpha. It's really important I talk to you." She said with a pleading voice.

"Speak," I said authoritatively.

"I believe the queen hasn't told you yet." She said lowering her voice.

"Told me what?" I asked her, a look of puzzlement on my face as I stared at her.

Ava's POV

It was yet another morning after going through a tortuous night. It was hard coping with myself since I last saw Skye and the messages Camila sends to me about his adulterous escapades brought pain to my heart. I shouldn't be feeling this way, after all, I ended things with him and I do not believe I am in love with him but I couldn't help it whenever I receive Camilla's messages about him.

To heighten and worsen it all, I could feel his lovemaking with the other women despite all my attempts to close my mind to his but I still find myself knowing everything he was doing in his bedroom. Our bedroom. I felt devastated and heartbroken.

I wiped away the tears that slipped from my eyes and I left the comfort of my bedroom.

I walked down the stairs and saw uncle speaking to the police officer by the name of Sebastian. He saw me and lowered his head. "Alpha." He said in respect.

"Mr. Sebastian, it's a pleasure to see you again," I said with a smile, stretching my slim fingers out to him and he shook them with his.

"Pleasure is all mine alpha. I was just about to take my leave." He said and I nodded.

"See you some other time Phil." He said and shook hands with uncle. "Sure," Uncle said and we both watched him walk away.

Uncle turned to me. "You look pale Ava. Are you getting any sleep?" He asked me.

I nodded. "I'm fine uncle. What did Sebastian say?" I asked him.

"Everything is under control. The people in town have been cautioned by the police and the Sheriff against the uproar they are causing." He said.

"There shouldn't be such a ruckus about these things. After all, we do not feed on humans. I think they need to respect our privacy, either they know us as wolves or humans." I said.

He stroked my hair and smiled. "You do not need to worry too much dear." He said. I looked at him and realized how foolish I was not to have seen him as the father figure he represented. "Uncle," I called out softly to him.

"Yes?" He asked gently.

I hugged him tightly. "I'm so glad nothing happened to you," I said and emotions swirled around my heart.

He hugged me closer. "Don't think I'm going to be leaving you anytime soon." He said and I felt him smile on my shoulder.

I pulled apart from him. "You're like the father I never had. I do not want another. I'm very much contented with you alone." I said to him, my voice choked with emotions.

He gazed at me lovingly. "Oh, Ava," He said with emotions in his voice too.

"I love you so much," I said to him. "I love you very much more." He said as he held me in his arms.

"I'm sorry to break the family bond but I'll like to speak with Ava." A familiar voice said and I felt the hairs at the nape of my neck stand to a still as a cold shiver went down my back. Uncle and I pulled apart and my eyes fell on the man standing a few feet away from me. My heart pounded hard in my chest as his eyes blazed down intrusively in mine.
