Chapter 53: Chapter 53

Skye's POV

Ava finally responded to me and I felt relieved a bit relieved. I walked out of the study room, down the stairs, and found beta Phil walking into the pack house, Camila right behind him.

"Where's Ava?!" He demanded angrily at Robin. Robin lowered his head. He saw me and walked towards me and grabbed a hold of my shirt. "Where the bloody hell is Ava?!" He demanded. "I trusted you a little bit with her and what did you do? Allow her to get captured barely six months in your walls! I shouldn't have agreed to this marriage." He said in anger.

"Phil, Ava is fine. She has assured me that she is." I said trying to sound calm. He held me tighter. "I swear with the grays on my head that if anything, absolutely anything happens to..."

"Uncle?" I heard Ava's voice and looked behind Phil. I saw her standing at the doorway looking exhausted. Phil let go of me and rushed towards her. "Ava, are you okay? Are you hurt?" He asked worriedly.

"I'm fine." She said unusually cheerful. I went towards her hugging her close. "You scared the hell out of me," I said leaning my head on hers and breathing a sigh of relief. She moved slightly away from me. I wondered why? "How did you get back?" I asked her.

"The same way I left." She replied nonchalantly.

"The wind of darkness?" I questioned.

"Yes," she replied impatiently. Why was she behaving strangely toward me? She turned to her uncle. "Where's my father?" She asked him and his expression turned sour.

"What?" He asked.

"I've met my father." She said holding his hand and smiling. Phil dropped her hand from his. "What... What do you mean by you've met your father?" He asked stuttering.

Her smile faded. "You and mom have always hidden the fact from me that I still have a father and he's very much alive and healthy." She said. What was she saying? She was in the hands of the demon king or wasn't she? How did she meet her father?

For the first time, I saw fear in Phil's eyes. "Who did you meet, Ava?" He asked, fear evident in his voice. He stared at her in perplexity.

"My father... Clark Forest." She said and horror washed over Phil's face. What was going on?

Ava's POV

I watched the color drain out of his face as he stumbled backward. "No," he said in fear. I was suspicious of his expression. Why was uncle scared I'd met my father? Perhaps was father right? Did uncle really not want me to be with him?

"You took me away from a man that loves me. You and mother." I said to him trying not to get angry at him.

"It was to protect you." He said.

"Protect me from what? A caring father? The love of a father? The feeling of having a father to lean on? The feeling of having a father of my own?" I questioned at once.

He was silent. "Answer me!" I blurted out in anger. All my pent up anger burst out. Skye held me. "Don't yell at him, Ava." He said.

"Let him answer me. Let him tell me why he denied me the love my father would have given me!" I said.

"You speak about love, Ava, did Clark claim he loves you?" Uncle finally said.

"He loves me and still does," I said to him.

"Love?" Uncle stared at me. "Clark's love for you died the moment you were called the chosen one to bring him down."

"What?" I asked puzzled. "What do you mean?"

Phil's POV

**Narration**

Delilah was greatly in love with Clark that she didn't find fault in anything he does. I had ill feelings about him and told her but she wouldn't listen. Soon enough, our pack members started to miss one by one. Most of them were found dead in nearby caves. Then one day I saw Clark feasting on Julia and that was when I tried to save my mate but I was no match for him. Delilah was so blinded by her love for Clark that she overlooked his atrocities. She went away, far away from home just to be with him. She abandoned her people for him. I found a way to see her and that was when I discovered she was heavily pregnant for you. She was delivered of you and Clark seemed to love you. He was always with you until two months later. The prophecy of a chosen one to defeat the demon king was announced by the ancient witches of those times and that prophecy fell on you.

*** flashback ***

"Please Clark, do not do this." Delilah pleaded crying as she held his feet. "She's your daughter, the flesh of your flesh, made out of your loins. I beg of you Clark spare her life." Delilah pleaded. He kicked her hands away from him. How could his own daughter said to be the one to bring him down? A mere child? Impossible! "I forgave you when you had your ways with my pack. I still loved you despite finding out who you are. Please, Clark, spare our child for my sake." She said still on her knees crying.

He went into the room and there the baby was, cackling in your cradle. He snatched the baby up in his hands like she was light as a feather. "You cannot be the one to ruin me, princess. I've lived for three hundred years and you would not stop me now." Clark said to her and she laughed. The smile in her eyes melted his heart, but on a second thought, he opened his mouth wide sending a hollow of_darkness towards her. Delilah summoned courage and hit him hard on his head and he fell unconscious. Before the baby dropped, Delilah picked her up and ran out of the house.

***Back to the present***

"Your mother saved your life the moment she summoned up the courage to leave your father," I said. Ava stumbled back.

"What are you trying to say, uncle?" She asked in perplexity. I sighed. I'd hidden this away from her for a long time and now it was time for her to know. "Clark Forest, your father is the demon king," I said to her.

Everyone present was shocked as they gasped. Tears formed in Ava's eyes as she stared in disbelief. How she felt betrayed. "The demon king is my father?" She asked, trying to assimilate what she heard. "That's not possible. You're lying! It's not possible!" She yelled wailing.

"It's the truth, Ava," I said to her.

"You're saying all these 'cause you hate him. Father would never want to hurt me!" She yelled and I grabbed her and shook her. "How long have you known him uh! You just met him! I've known him more than you do! Would you believe his words more than mine?! I've raised you up almost all your life, are you going to believe the words of a man you met today than mine?!" I questioned trying to shake some sense into her.

"He looks so young and innocent." She said, the tears finally rolling.

"That's how he deceived your mother. How do you think he remained youthful and not looking like a three hundred years old when he's not a deity?" I said to her.

I held her lovingly. "You have to stay far away from him till the blood moon appears in the sky."

"Blood moon?" She asked foolishly.

"Yes, I've found out when the blood moon arises. He'd be at his weakest and you shall strike." I said to her. She moved away from me and turned her back against me. "I can't kill my father." She said and we all stared at her in shock.

"What?" I said baffled by her sudden change of mind.
