Chapter 52: Chapter 52

Skye's POV

Robin rushed into the pack house. I had sent one of the pack members to search for him. "You sent for me Skye." He said. From my expression, he knew I was angry and he became agitated.

"What happened?" I questioned him.

"What?" He asked unaware of what I was asking.

"You told me you placed warriors around the territory and they were under your watch," I said to him.

"I did that Skye but I don't get where this is going." He said in perplexity.

"Ava has been captured and this happened just outside the territory of the pack house," I said trying to keep my cool but I was breaking apart inside. I didn't know where to begin my search for her and that got me angry with myself the more.

"What?" He said in surprise.

"You heard me. Don't play deaf to what I'm saying." I fired at him.

"I assure you, Skye, we had the borders secured and..." Robin began but I cut him short. "If you did, then how did this happen without the knowledge of the protection you built up?!" I raged unable to control my anger.

"Believe me, Skye, I am not aware of this latest development. No rogue was seen." He explained. I slapped the table hard. "This is no rogue issue for heaven's sake!" I yelled. "Were you not paying attention to me? This is something bigger, the demon king!" I yelled at him.

"Yelling at Robin won't get things done." One of the elders, Tim said walking towards us. He was right. This wasn't the time to lay blame or point accusing fingers.

"Where are the warriors?" I demanded.

"Outside the pack house." He responded.

"Assemble them. I'll meet you up in a few minutes." I said to him.

"Yes, Skye." He said and walked away.

"You need to calm down Skye." Time said. What was he saying? How can I calm down when my wife was in the hands of someone who could hurt her with a snap of his fingers?

"I'm trying to elder Tim but I can't. Each passing second without hearing a thing from her is killing me." I said feeling frustrated.

He placed a hand on my shoulder. "Pacing around won't get you the answers you want, neither would it make you reason properly. Be calm alpha." He said to me. I nodded and walked out of the house. The warriors were already gathered.

"I've gathered..." Robin began and I cut him short. "I can see that," I said in a very rude manner. He kept silent and stood beside me.

"Did anyone of you see the queen and the two girls leaving the pack's territory?" I asked.

"No alpha." They said in unison.

"Which means you also did not see the wind of darkness that took her away?" I asked in skepticism.

They shook their head.

I felt there was something they were not telling me. Then one stood forward. One I recognized as Simon. "The truth is that," he began and then paused.

"Speak," I commanded.

"Alpha, we don't know what happened. We found ourselves asleep. We were awake this morning and full of energy. A few minutes later into the midday, we saw a cloud hovering above us and we fell drowsy and fell asleep." Simon narrated and they agreed, nodding to his statement.

"We're sorry alpha," Simon said lowering to his knees and the rest followed. "We are sorry alpha." They said in unison.

I dismissed them. They couldn't be blamed. The demon king could have taken Terra anytime he wanted to. I believed he knew she had set a time to leave. She lied to me. She used David as an excuse and left the territory. How could I locate Ava? She wasn't responding to my telepathic messages. Anna. Her name came to my mind.

Anna is a witch and would probably have a locator spell. I went back into the pack house. "Anna!" I called out for her. "Anna!" I called out again and she came rushing down the stairs in fright.

"Alpha," she began.

"You can locate Ava, right? You are a witch and surely can cast a locator spell right?" I asked in urgency, perplexity, and hope.

She looked downcast. "I tried alpha." She said.

"What do you mean by you tried?" I asked her.

"I was upstairs casting a locator spell but I can't find her. It's like her whereabouts have been cloaked to prevent any witch from locating her." She said.

"Goddammit!" I yelled in frustration, kicking the flowerpot close to me and its shattering sound made Anna tremble.

I moved towards the couch and sat down. "Leave. I want to be left alone." I said and she walked away. I vented my anger on the flower vase on top of the table and it broke into pieces. "Ahh!" I grunted in frustration as I rested my head on the couch. Where are you, Ava? Where are you? Please respond to me. I pleaded in my mind hoping she could hear me.

Ava's POV

"Father?" I asked baffled by the sudden change of everything. The sudden turn of events made me weak to my knees. Was he a rogue wolf? I wondered. I looked forward to any sign of a serpent on his neck but there was none.

"I see your mother has said nothing about me to you." He said.

"She never talked about you. The mere mention of you was forbidden in her presence." I said and he chuckled.

"I expected that." He said.

I stared at him. "How sure am I that you are really my father?" I asked him despite hoping in my heart that he was. Only the imagination of having this man as a father was a blast. "And why am I being kidnapped and tied up here?" I asked.

That was when he took notice of the ropes around me. He glared deadly at Andrew. He had a look that could kill. "Why is she tied up?" He asked Andrew.

Andrew stuttered like the fucking pussy he was. "She has been said to be too tough and..."

"Enough," Clark cut in. "Untie her now." He ordered and Andrew obeyed and quickly loosened the ropes around me.

I stood up and rubbed my numb knuckles to give them warmth. "First things first," I said and kicked Andrew in the stomach with my knee. "That's for keeping me up tied here," I said and punched him hard in his face and he stumbled and fell on the floor clutching his stomach. What a pussy, I scoffed. "That was for abducting me," I said.

I walked towards Clark, my so called father and he was smiling. "You've gotten fierce." He said.

"I lost all fear and cowardice when mother died," I said and he lowered his head.

"Your mother.." He began but I interrupted him. "My question has not been answered. How sure am I that you are really my father?" I asked again.

Just then I heard Skye speak to me again. I've been wading off his messages but I decided to answer him this time _. I don't know where I am but don't worry your doltish head about me. I'm fine._ I responded to him.

"Your question," he said staring intently at me. "You have a birthmark on your left thigh and you are a pure white wolf." He said.

I stared at him. He was my father. He was really my father! I felt like hugging him and at the same time ripping him apart. How dare he leave me since I was a child only to return after nineteen years?

"You abandoned me." I finally said.

He shook his head. "I didn't my child. Your mother took you away from me. I loved you a lot, Ava," he said coming closer to me. "I really do and I also loved your mother a lot. She was my everything. I never got married after she left me. Why she did so, I have no idea but our love was forbidden by her brother." He said to me.

"Uncle Phil broke you both apart?" I questioned him. He nodded. "He never wanted us together. He was finally able to persuade her to leave me. She took you away from me." He said with pain in his eyes.

"Why didn't you come for me?" I asked him. All the thoughts in my heart wanted to be expressed. "I did. I watched you, Ava, I watched you from afar. I watched you grow but I couldn't come close to you. No one would allow me. Delilah made sure of that." He said.

He knew mother's name too. There was no denying that he was my father. "Why?" I asked him. "Why weren't you allowed close to me?"

"Your uncle doesn't like me, Ava. He manipulated your mother to leave me and take you away." He said. He held my hand and immediately let go like he was electrified. "We were a happy family, Ava. I watched you cackle and play in your cradle. The cradle I made for you," he said and I felt tears in my eyes.

"I want to be in your life more than ever, Ava." He said holding his gaze strongly on me. I felt my head spin.
