Chapter 32: Chapter 32
Skye's POV
"Your what? I was only gone for a space of three months and you're married already?!" Nat yelled at me. We were in the study room. I had excused us from Ava.
"Lower your voice, Nat," I said and she fumed.
"Do not, I repeat Nicholas Skye, do not tell me that. Don't tell me to quiet down!" she yelled angrily.
Her way of calling my name proved that she was very angry.
"There was no stopping this marriage Nat. It has been prophesied a long time ago." I explained.
She scoffed. "What prophecy?" she asked.
"This marriage is to unite the blood moon pack with the crescents," I said not disclosing the issue of the demon king.
"So she's from the enemy's pack?" she asked and I nodded. "You're so ridiculous Skye, you're inhumane," she said and I stared at her in disbelief.
"What?" I exclaimed, narrowing my eyes at her. How could she call me that?
"I've been with you almost all your life. Been your best friend for fifteen years and during that period, your lover for four years, four good years! and you're going to throw that away for a prophesied marriage?!" she demanded aggressively.
"Listen to me Natasha," I said calmly trying my best not to get angry at her. "Yes we've been together for fifteen years as best of friends and one time as lovers but the woman out there is my mate," I said bursting her bubble.
"What?" she said with a surprised look.
"Yes," I walked up to her. "You were my lover but I was never in love with you," she stared at me in disbelief and shock. "Don't get me wrong Nat, I loved you but wasn't in love with you. You were never my mate and it turns out she is." I said.
"That's impossible. It can't happen. You love me, Skye, you do." she said, her voice breaking.
"It already has Nat," I held her hand. "You're still my best friend, always will be. But this thing between us can't work anymore." I said honestly to her.
"Skye," she called out in a hurtful voice and held my collar. I felt bad doing this to her but I had to end things.
I took her hands off me. "I'm sorry Nat, I love you and always will but not in the way you expect me to," I said.
"You're dumping me because of her?" she said bitterly as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.
"She has a name you know," I said to her and walked towards the door.
"Do you love her?" she asked which stopped me in my tracks. I turned to her and she said more detailedly. "Are you in love with her?" she asked.
I was taken aback by her question. I haven't even thought of it that way. I've always wanted Ava since I met her. She was free spirited and determined, I liked her feistiness and the innocence her eyes portrayed but I've never thought of the word love.
"Are you in love with her?" she asked again.
"I cannot answer that Nat, I'm married to her and I owe her my sincere honesty," I said to her.
"What about me Skye? We've been together for so long, don't you think I deserve something too? Don't you owe me something better?" she questioned.
"I'm sorry," I said feeling downcast as I apologized again and walked away. I felt hurt about it but I couldn't help it. I knew this day would come and there was no way I could stop it.
Ava's POV
Camila walked into the room bubbling with excitement. "You need to have a look at what Anna can do with her powers," she began talking rapidly. "It's very pleasing. I'm having a good time here though the blood moons are hostile but still, yet it's..." she stopped talking when she took notice that I was not following in her discussion. "Are you okay?" she asked sitting beside me.
"I'm fine Camila," I reassured her.
"You're worried again," she said to me.
I took one glance at her and asked. "Shouldn't I?"
"The ancestors know why they chose you. I believe they'll guide you on the right path once it's time," she said and I nodded. "I hope so," I said doubtfully.

The midnight moon was shining bright in the sky. I stood on the balcony gazing at the twinkling stars when my thoughts went back to Natasha. She was beautiful and elegant, she looked like one of those spoilt rich brats of mighty alphas and I didn't like the way she held Skye. I felt a burning anger in my chest and why I felt so, I didn't understand.
"Ava," I heard his smooth husky voice behind me and as usual, the sensations that went down my stomach happened again. I wished it could stop but it wouldn't. It was there burning at the pit of my stomach
"Done with your lover?" I asked in a hitched voice. I didn't mean to sound upset instead of being sarcastic but I did.
"Is someone jealous?" he asked sounding very pleased with himself. He said walking closer and leaning behind me. My breath hitched as I took in a sharp breath.
"I'm not jealous," I said hoarsely still sounding angry.
"Relax love, it was just a question," he whispered into my ear. His breath felt hot in my ears and I felt a feeling stir at the pit of my stomach. His closeness was electrifying and his presence had a magnetic pull on me.
"Which has been given a befitting answer," I replied. Still leaning on me, he placed his hands on the rails and I could feel every masculine part of his. His hardened stomach, his essence, everything about him close to me took my breath away. I couldn't move, I was rooted to the spot.
"You know, it's quieter when you are not acting like a fishwife," he said huskily behind my ear.
"What? How dare you call me..."
He chuckled. "Calm down love," he leaned closer to my cheek. "You're too feisty," he said and trailed his lips down my neck. I was trying so hard to resist this devil behind me but I was failing.
"Too bad I'm not one of those softies whores of yours," I said huskily making it obvious he had an impact on me.
He let out a soft laugh and held my waist spinning me around to face him. "Unfortunately you're not, which I'm indeed glad about," he said, and with that circled my waist and pulled me hard to his body and I gasped as I felt the member in between his legs. He smirked. "I like my women feisty," he said and with that, crushed his lips down on mine and as before, my struggles did little or nothing to stop him.
