Chapter 30: Chapter 30
Ava's POV
I walked in my wolf form through the snow. I should be cautious of the way I exposed myself but I couldn't help it especially when it was snowing. Isla loves the snow and would do anything to be out in it.
As I walked through the snow, lots of thoughts went through my mind. How was I going to unite these packs? Packs that have been enemies for centuries. How was I going to defeat the demon king? Someone I didn't know about. What does he even look like?
I sighed. When will all the answers come to me? Why was I chosen for such tasks? I shifted back to my human form when I got to where I left my clothes. Putting them on, I went back to the pack house.
"You have a visitor," Robin said coming towards me.
"Who?" I inquired knowing I had no friends except Camila here.
He frowned. "Apparently, we'll be having more crescents in this house," he said walking away. I wondered what he meant. I went into the house and saw a man standing in the dining area. His back looked familiar.
"Fernandez?" I inquired.
He turned and said. "Hello, Ava."
In just a few weeks that I haven't seen him, he looked different. He had stubs of hair under his chin and face.
"What are you doing here?" I found myself asking. We weren't on good terms and besides, the last time we met didn't end well.
"I came to see you," he said staring at me.
"What for?" I demanded. "You called off our friendship remember?" I reminded him.
"I was in an angry state and..."
Camila came in interrupting him. "Hey sis, the alpha has been asking of you," she said and turned to Fernandez. "Hey," she said to him and he ignored her.
I rolled my eyes. Why wouldn't he let me be? I smiled at Camila. "Thank you. I'll get to him soon." I said.
She nodded smiling. "You owe me a run remember?" she asked and I nodded. "Didn't forget that at all," I replied.
"Replaced me so soon I see," Fernandez said.
"Replaced you?" I questioned getting pissed. "You damned our friendship. You made it very clear it meant nothing to you." I said to him.
"Our friendship meant a lot to me but you just had to go replace me," he said his voice rising. "And with her?!" he exclaimed with a disappointed look.
I frowned at him. "What do you mean by 'and with her?'" I demanded. He was getting on my nerves.
"I ...I should go," Camila said turning to leave. Her expression showed that she was very hurt by his words.
"Yes, you should go. You're not needed here anyways," he said harshly. Camila turned on her heels and practically ran.
"How could you?!" I yelled at him through gritted teeth.
"No, how could you? We are best of friends and you just want to throw it to the wind and replace.."
"Let me correct that," I said to him. "We were best of friends. Now we're not. You ruined everything." I said pointing a finger at him.
"No, you ruined everything when you decided to marry that scoundrel and said it was best for the pack!" he said equally upset.
"That scoundrel won't hesitate to rip your head off your body." Skye's voice sounded through the hallway. He walked in his ever gracious manner towards us, holding my waist and pulling me in to kiss my forehead which irritated Fernandez.
I was too surprised to react. "You have a lot of nerves coming into my house to make a lot of noise and call me names. You even have the audacity to raise your voice at my mate," he said glaring at Fernandez. He turned his face softly to look at me. "Tell me, my dear little wife, what should his punishment be?" he asked me.
I shook my head. "Let it be," I said.
"What do you want Fernandez?" Skye asked him. I wondered how he knew his name. Fernandez's face was hardened and I followed his gaze to Skye's hand on my waist. I moved away from his arms.
"I'm not here to see you, so back off," Fernandez said harshly.
"Fernandez," I cautioned.
Skye smirked. "Need I refresh your memory that you're in the den of the blood moons and anything mysterious could happen." He said, his tone underlying a warning.
Fernandez's face hardened the more.
"Fernandez," I said holding my cool. "You need to leave."
"Ava," he said looking surprised.
"Now," I ordered, and with one last look at me, he walked away.
"Were you not informed I sought for your presence about...a long time ago?" Skye questioned.
I turned to him. "I was but I ..."
He interrupted me. "Talking to your lover." he completed.
"What?" I asked baffled by his words. What on earth was he insinuating?
"Oh please, Ava, it's obvious he loves you, and perhaps you two were lovers before I married you," he said to me with accusing eyes.
"We were friends, friends!" I yelled exasperated. "Why am I even explaining to you? I have no time for this." I said walking away. He grabbed my arm and pulled me back. His hand held my arm in a painful grasp.
"I'm your husband and you don't walk out on me when I'm not done talking," he said in that low menacing tone of his.
"Maybe I also need to remind you that I'm your wife not by choice and you cannot impose whatever you feel like on me." I retorted and freed my arm forcefully from his grasp and walked away.

I looked for Camila and found her sitting under one of the olive trees.
"Hey, little sis," I said sweetly to her placing my hand on her shoulder. She sniffed. "Hi."
I sat beside her and held her face in my hands. "Have you been crying?" I asked her worriedly. She shook her head still sniffing.
"I can clearly see the lines of your salty tears on your cheeks," I said to her and she held me tight sobbing.
"He sees me as an outcast." She said through sobs.
I sighed as I held her close comforting her. "Did you let what Fernandez said to get to you?" I asked her knowing that was the reason she was crying.
"He has always..always had a dislike for me while even..at camp. Am I not worthy to be around you?" she asked still sobbing.
I pulled her from my body and lifted her chin. "Listen to me, you're worthy to be around me. I call you sister right?" I asked her and she nodded. "Good, cause I see you as one. Don't let what that jerk said to get to you okay?" I said to her and she nodded.
I pulled her into my arms and held her close. "He's a fool," I said to her and patted her head.
