Chapter 20: Chapter 20
Skye's POV
Robin frowned in annoyance as he walked into the study. These days, this is where I find comfort, in the books of my father. My father was indeed a marvelous writer and a wide intellectual reader. His books had a way of captivating his readers. "This has been sent in by the crescents Skye and it's directed to you." he said.
"I'm sure you know what to do with it," I responded still engulfed in one of my father's books and he stared at me dumbly. I took one glance at him and returned to my reading. "Read it out loud." I said to him.
"I'm afraid I cannot obey you this time Skye," he said and I gave him a hard look. "Forgive me alpha," he said lowering his head. "But, I cannot read out this abominable letter." he said.
I stared at him skeptically. "Bring it." I said gesturing to the table.
He dropped the letter on the table and I picked it up. With a glance at the letter, I understood it all. A small smile crept at the corners of my lips as I leaned into the chair rocking back and forth. The mighty Ava White has finally accepted the marriage.
"Why are you so happy now?" Robin asked still having that frown on his face.
I was still leaning back in my seat, the smile refusing to leave my face. "It turns out that the queen of the crescent pack will be my bride in days to come." I said smugly.
"Is this a new scheme to have vengeance on the crescents?" he asked having a devilish twinkle in his eyes.
"No, Robin, far from it. It's a marriage of convenience." I said to him.
The frown creased deeper on his face. "That won't be acceptable, Skye. An enemy from the crescents cannot and will not be a part of the blood moons." he said pertinaciously.
Robin has been my companion for over thirteen years now since the death of my mother. He was my advisor and beta. He was more than a friend practically a brother. His hatred for the crescents had grown stronger ever since he lost his father in the battle that took place ten years ago.
"It's already happening Robin. Nothing can be done about it," I said to him.
"Nothing can be done about it?" he asked, his voice slightly raised. "Calm down, Robin. I know your hatred for the crescent pack runs deep but certain things have to be forgotten." I said rising to my feet.
"Forgotten you say?" his voice finally raised. "My father's death is not something I can let go of easily. You know he was your father's best friend and beta." he said justifying himself.
"I understand you clearly from that aspect but, I want you to know that it was a battle, Robin. Not everyone returns alive from such matters. I've told you severally he wasn't murdered specifically. It was a battle and everyone there had to fight for their lives which he did bravely but unfortunately didn't make it back." I said and was now close to him. I held his shoulders. "Besides you've had the opportunity and pleasure of slaying many crescents." I said to him.
He disagreed still being pertinacious. "Let's assume that aspect of my father dying as a warrior is fine and I've justified my father but, what about you? What about the death of your mother?" I released my grip on him and shut my eyes after his words.
Memories of thirteen years ago reel in my head. Father had returned back with mother's body and said she had been killed by a crescent. Father swore to avenge mother and that was how the battle started. He did avenge mother which caused the lives of many crescents including Ava's mother. I grew up and harbored a long hatred for the crescents till I met Ava. I opened my eyes.
"This marriage has been prophesied years ago and there's nothing you and I or the pack can do about it." I said.
He stared at me for a long time. "I knew something was wrong with you ever since your first encounter with her on that day." He said shaking his head.
I smirked. "It's all for the pack." I said.
"Speaking of the pack, I might stand by you in this abominable decision of yours but the pack will surely be totally against it." he said.
He had a point. "Gather them around Robin, I'll be having a one on one discussion with my people." I said.
He nodded. "What about the members who are married to the humans?" he asked.
"Summon every member of this pack. No one should be left out of this meeting," I said to him.
"Also send in Anna."I added and he nodded again and walked away. I knew it was going to be tough convincing them to accept this marriage but I believed it won't take longer than I'd expected it to.

Anna walked in timidly into the study room. "Sir, you sent for me." she said.
I nodded and gestured to her to sit down. "Yes, sit." She obeyed immediately and sat down. "Do you have an idea about the prophesied marriage?" I asked her.
She reluctantly nodded her head. "My mother told me about it." she said.
"Who's your mother and what did she tell you?" I asked.
"My mother was a witch who was among the other witches that saw the prophecy nineteen years ago. Five years ago before she died, she told me about the prophecy. Two packs will unite to end the era of the demon king." she said looking down at her fingers.
"Do you have the ability to show me if this is true?" I asked her.
"I can try," she responded and took my hand shyly.
She murmured a few times and I felt something cold move inside of me. Vividly, I saw Ava and me fighting side by side against..the connection broke and I opened my eyes to see Anna pulling away her hand. "Why did you stop?" I asked her.
"That's all that can be shown to you or anyone else." she said.
"Why?" I questioned. "You both are going to face lots of trials that will threaten to break you both apart. My visions are unclear but that's all I can show you." she said.
I stared at her for a while. "Fair enough." I said.
