Chapter 86: Chapter 86

Damien turned off the ignition of his car, unlocking the door and stepping out.

Due to the long distance from Kettlesworth to London, he had been on the road for a while, and so when he’d arrived back it was a little late in the evening already.

He had wanted to drive all the way to the real destination he had in mind and that was Madison's house.

After his conversation with Mason, he couldn't not talk to her, and as the entire conversation with Mason continued to replay in his head, Damien’s heart pounded in his ears.

He was weak to the core, regretful, and even a little angry. But this time his anger was directed to himself.

He had to make everything right. He needed to see her… because now everything was clear and he had the full details of what happened now.

Everything made sense now, and he was the one at fault. His mistakes were laid up in front of him, and he didn't want to postpone seeing her any further.

But in as much as he wanted to see Madison so badly, first he had to pick up something from his hotel room and since it was just along the way, he decided to make the stop.

He walked quickly into the lobby, his feets tapping away hurriedly as he didn’t want to waste any more time. He would just quickly get the item and then hurry back.

Night was already falling and he didn't have much time. As he crossed the receptionist, she waved at him, almost like she was trying to catch his attention, or talk to him about something but Damien had no time to waste and so he waved back at her dismissively, hoping she would get the memo that he was in a rush and he continued walking.

Soon, he got to his suite. Digging his hand into his jacket, he took out his key card and swiped the door open.

“Where will I?…” As he walked in, the words dying on his lips, Damien froze in his steps with his brows puckering in surprise.

Why were the lights turned on? He wondered. He was certain he had turned them off before leaving this morning. Or had he? Damien spent the next few minutes trying to remember, but his mind had been somewhere else entirely this morning so he couldn’t recall a thing.

He sighed, deciding that he might have not switched it off and now he was just being paranoid and overthinking. After all, he'd had a long day, so it was understandable if his head was all jumbled.

Shaking his head, he shut the door behind and continued to walk in, only to freeze in his steps once more. A pair of jeans and a brightly colored top lay carelessly on the floor, and he frowned, suddenly looking around the suite in alarm.

As he did so, his eyes met Katherine's.

She was seated on the bed in a very revealing black dress, her legs crossed as she smiled sweetly at him, and Damien’s facial expression changed all to quickly.

"Hey baby. Surprise!" She squealed, laughing lightly as she grinned at him, throwing her arms wide as if motioning him to come close, but he just stood rooted at the spot, staring at her in surprise and wondering what the fuck she was doing here.

What was she doing in London? In his hotel? And how she had gotten into his room in the first place?

He could already feel irritation begin to fill his chest. With her around, his mood was bound to shift, and the last thing he needed right now was more drama.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, looking her over, “How come you are in London? No why are you in London?"

In response, she gave a small laugh, “What other reason would I be here love? I came here to see you of course, babe."

Damien's jaw ticked, and he could already feel the drama coming.

Something he just wasn’t in a mood for.

However Katherine didn't seem to notice because she continued talking either way, "I’ve missed you so much. Why haven't you been returning any of my calls?" She asked, her lips forming into a pout, "And I mean none of them at all. Not my calls, not my messages. I left so many voicemails, but I never got a response. Didn’t you miss me?”

Damien said nothing at first, just looking her over, his elbows now crossed.

“Why aren't you saying a thing still, talk to me?" She said again, as the silence stretched and Damien took a deep breath in a bid to calm himself.

“Honestly I don’t even know what to say to you.”

“Huh?“

“I don't know where all these…" He gestured to her, "…all these statements about me not calling or texting you is coming from, but in case you have forgotten, we are no longer together. We took a break, one that… You know what, I’m not obliged in anyway to talk to you or take your calls. You didn’t get a response, and wasn’t that clear enough? Didn’t you get the message that I didn’t want to have a conversation with you?”

Katherine looked thrown off for a brief second but then she recovered almost immediately, and her face softening she began, "No, no babe. Just like you just said, you needed a break and that's all. I never wanted the break, you did and I know by now you’re tired of it. A break, doesn't mean we broke up." She paused, hands going to her forehead and rubbing gently she continued, “Babe… I know we've been going through a rough patch lately and I know I fucked up big time, but I’m so sorry now. I want us to start over, from scratch. I… I miss you… so much. That's why I'm here. I wanted to surprise you, that’s all."

As she said those words, she stood from the bed, walking seductively to where Damien stood and raising her chest so he could get a full view of her cleavages, she bit her bottom lip, leaning forward and raised her arms to touch his chest. But before she could make any contact though, Damien shot his hands towards, gripped hers and forcing her backwards he pushed her back to the bed.

She stared up at him in shock, pulling a handful of her hair away from her face, and just as she opened her mouth to say something, Damien beat her to it.

"What the hell is wrong with you? I knew there were a lot of shitty things about you, but I never for once thought that you’d be such a desperate bitch. What is it that you don’t get? We are done. Fucking done! O…V…E…R… Over, we are over. Whatever we had between us, is gone for good, and nothing is ever going to change that. Not your apology, or the stupid surprise you pulled here. Get this into that thick skull of yours and stop this silly seduction scheme. It's pathetic!" He spat, looking her over in disgust.

Katherine reddened in anger, and suddenly she jumped from the bed.

Like she was possessed or something, she started waving her hands at him as he yelled, "NO! We are not done. Not now, not ever and no matter what you say, I'm not going to accept it, Damien. And you know what? You can't either. You wouldn't even have the balls to say this to my father. His partnership with your company is one of your greatest achievements, and it helped a great deal in getting you, to where you are today. So suck it up and accept that fact, that we can never be done. You are stuck with me for life!" She exclaimed, smiling and laughing evilly at the same time.

She stared at him defiantly, her hands on her waist as she waited for him to obviously counteract her statement and yes he was going to.

Damien chuckled, shaking his head, "That's your plan? Hide behind your father and use him as leverage over me? Well good luck with that. Because I don't care at all, and I know I built my company from scratch with my intellect, and hard work. Your father’s partnership doesn't matter to me at all, and whatever business I have with him or his company is off as from this moment. I want nothing to do with you or your family. Just get the hell out of my life."

Katherine looked shocked and she froze, not knowing what to say.

“Now get out!" Damien thundered, pointing to the door, but she made no move to leave.

Her chest heaving in anger, she stared at him, fury boiling deep in his eyes as she blurted out, "This is because of her right?! Because of that bitch Madison! You came to London because of her didn't you? And before you try to deny it, don't. I've been seeing the tabloids. You and her in that club. You even beat up some men for her. That's why you're acting like this. That’s why you initiated this break, and why you’ve been ignoring and treating me like this? It's all because of that bitch isn’t it?”

Damien scoffed, no longer afraid and ready to face the truth. The fact that she thought he would deny it was almost comical even.

"You know what, Katherine? You're right. Yes I'm in London because of her. I'm here because of my past, and Madison is part of it. So yes, you're right. Whether you saw, you’ll keep seeing it and you should learn to live with it." He saw Katherine clench her fists at his words but he was past caring.

"There's a lot going on in my life. A lot of things regarding my past that I have to address, and there are so many things I have questions about, that are still quite unclear. I won't be able to rest until I figure them out, and I will never be able to move forward if I don’t too. So I should tell you now before it’s too late Katherine, don’t even harbor any hopes of getting me back. Maybe that's hard for you to accept, but I do not care, and I don't need you anymore in my life. So leave, just get out. You've only ever been a nuisance right from when we started dating… you make everything worse, and you always care about yourself so you can keep enjoying that. Now drop this desperate act, and just get the fuck out of my suite."

She said nothing at first, and Damien began to gauge her next move, but then she moved closer to him.

"I said you are stuck with me for life, did you think I was joking? Me, leave you? Oh it is never going to happen. Also Katherine Scott will never be trampled upon, you hear me? I have never let anyone belittle me, and you won't be the first! You're going to break up with me for that stinky, lower class whore? Over my dead body!"

Damien only laughed. This was all she was good at; throwing insults and making empty threats.

“You are right in one aspect though, about Madison that is. She might be lowly, poor, or whatever names you want to call her, but I don't care at. She was the love of my life, and still is, so that should say a lot. She's smart, caring, selfless, and completely owns my heart. She is everything you're not, and she has everything you don’t have."

"Don't compare me with that bitch! Don’t you dare!" Katherine cut in, pointing a finger at him, but Damien only laughed as he said again digging deep, "It hurts doesn’t it? Well it's the truth. And I'm going to make sure I make everything right between Madison and I. If everything goes well, I'm going straight back to her. So do yourself a favor and go get a life. I don't know why I didn't see what a selfish bitch you were till now. You've always been the one throwing yourself at me. And our relationship? You forced it too. Right from the onset, I only wanted you to grace my bed but you pushed me into wanting more. However not anymore. I am done with you. Anything that concerns you… your father's business included, I want no part in it anymore. Stay far away from me and never come back anymore!"

“Y-you can't do this to me!” Katherine yelled, tearing at her hair as she stamped her foot angrily. "This isn't possible… get back here when I'm talking to you!"

But Damien had had enough. He walked past her, moving to his drawer to pick out the wallet he had come for.

It was getting late already, he needed to talk to the most important person in his life, and he had no time for all these tantrums.

When he took out the wallet, he started walking straight to the door, intent on leaving if she didn’t want to.

The card she’d used to come in, she could use it to see herself out when she was ready.

"Damien, I'm fucking talking to you!" She screamed and turning to her lazily he made his last statement, "You can stand there yelling as long as you want, but when I get back I don't want to see you here. I never want to see you again, hope you get that? We're over and you're dead to me."

"DAMIEN!”

But he had already walked out of the suite, banging the door behind him, muting out her yells.

…….

Katherine stood still stunned as Damien stormed out of the suite and banged the door shut.

Her hands shook as the conversation they’d just had continued to play in her head. She had been right all along, and her gut instincts had been on the right track all this while.

That bitch had been faster than her, and now she had won. She had already won Damien over, brainwashed him and Katherine couldn't believe he had even admitted to being in this cursed city because of the bitch.

Now, he might even be heading to her place to apologize and take her back.

"NO!" She yelled, pacing around the room, “No, no, no. This can't be happening. It couldn't…"

Damien had just treated her like a nobody, making it clear in words that he never wanted to see her ever again. He was even willing to forfeit his business plans with her father. Just for that sneaky whore!

Clenching her jaw, Katherine angrily began to tear off the black dress she was wearing, and pulled on the clothes she had come with instead.

All of Damien's words continued to ring in her head, and she couldn't believe she had lost to that low-life.

Screaming loudly, she walked to the mirror, staring manically at herself, "I'm better than her! I have class, that bitch doesn't! I’m more pretty, that bitch isn’t! What else do you fucking want?” Screaming, she punched the mirror, shattering the glass and the shards pierced her knuckles.

With blood dripping from the wound, she stared at it and she closed her eyes as another image filled her head.

Madison on the floor, neck slashed open as blood gushed out and… She would kill that bitch, and now she didn’t even need to think twice about it.

"OH FUCK YOU!" She stamped her foot on the floor, walking to Damien’s cabinets and kicking them open. In one of the drawers, she found a pair of scissors.

Her headache was returning, but she didn’t stop. Her breath coming out raggedly, she gripped the scissors tightly in her hands and rushed to the bed.

Like a crazed being, she began to cut through the bedsheets and the pillows. The scissors fell from her shaky hands, and she resorted to using her teeth and fingers.

Still fuming, she moved to the balcony, grabbing the chair and slamming it onto the glass table.

Minutes going by, she went to work, scattering the suite with blood from her hands dripping about, and making the whole room a mess. When she had wrecked the suite to her satisfaction, she grabbed her purse from the floor and headed to the door.

Tears streamed down her face smearing her makeup, but Katherine made no move to wipe them away at all.

Shaking her head vigorously, she stormed down the lobby, straight faced and not even looking at the receptionist who tried talking to her. Instead she walked straight to her car.

She couldn't let things end like this. That bitch couldn't win, not while she was alive. She couldn't lose to a two-timing bitch, and worst of all one who came from the fucking gutters.

She unlocked her car and stepped in, starting the ignition, one destination certain in her mind.

Hissing and wiping at her mascara smeared face, Katherine drove out of the hotel and headed straight to Madison's house.
