Chapter 83: Chapter 83
KATHERINE
Katherine had enjoyed her night.
Spending it with her hot partner, the one she had called was simply exhilarating.
She had literally driven back to her hotel like a mad person after the call, and to her delight, just after she’d prepared for him, he had arrived. He had come just on time, and they’d spent the night drinking, smoking and having so much fun.
Of all days, the time Katherine spent with him, was so blissful and one part of her wished that everyday would be like this.
The drugs had been such a good addition, and they’d been so helpful that she asked him to supply more to her secretly.
It took more of her efforts to convince him, of course, but it was something she could handle easily. After a few more rounds of sex and nibbles in the right places, he had immediately agreed, and Katherine had literally been on cloud nine.
They’d sniffed the drugs he’d brought so many times, and when he complained about being hungry, she’d ordered room service for him. He had eaten, so had she and after dinner they had continued with their sexcapades until late in the night.
Katherine had even fallen asleep with a lit up blunt between her lips, and making no move to douse the flames as her eyes drooped, the only thing she knew was that the night had been bliss.
Well, her hot partner had left earlier this morning, but not before asking Katherine if she would like to do it again sometime, and chuckling, she waved him goodbye, telling him that they’d talk some other time – A statement she in particular would or might not follow.
She used her flings and dumped them, that’s why it was called a one night stand. She rarely fucked the same guy twice, although she’s made an exception for this particular man but now she’d drawn the line.
She was grateful for the drugs though, but she told him prop and plain that she couldn’t entertain him any longer.
Pissed, he had pulled on his clothes and stormed out of her suite, and as soon as the effect of the drugs wore off, Katherine was back to her bad mood.
She continued to think back on the plans she had made with her men, and even though it excited her, it would still take too long. She understood that it would take some time and planning, but she needed something to be done so quickly, or else she might go crazy.
She had also gotten the tabloids with news of Damien beating up her men for Madison, and their images were splayed on the front cover. The more she flipped through the pages, the angrier she became when she saw Madison's pictures. It was enough to sour her mood.
Throwing the tabloids into the trash, she got up from her bed and walked into the bathroom, intent on taking a shower maybe then she’d feel good.
After she had brushed and showered, she ordered room service to bring up her breakfast.
Usually she would have gone to the gym, but she was too tired for that today. These days all she wanted was to drink, sniff drugs and lie in bed thinking of ways to destroy Madison and get Damien back, and that she spent her time doing.
She hated living like this. She hated seeing what she had been reduced to, just because she was trying to protect her future with Damien but she really had no choice.
Her food soon arriving, she picked through the lavish meal in disgust, picking out the parts which she considered edible, and rarely chewing the one she managed to put in her mouth.
Everything looked sour and tasted bad just like her mood, and hissing loudly she finally gave up on eating and tossed the food aside.
Everything was just pissing her off as it stood. She decided she would go to a good restaurant and get some real food, as this meal didn’t resonate well with her at all, but in truth Katherine knew that food wasn't the problem with her.
She was just bitter about everything, and to cap it all off she didn't have an appetite either so food was not the problem.
She knew what the problem was, the problem was… No! There was no way in hell that she’d she admit she was the problem.
Not when she was not a nuisance or mad person. The heck!
She needed someone to vent her anger on though, and resolving within herself after some time she decided that she would complain to the manager and threaten to rate the hotel badly, because they’d served her half cooked and inedible food.
She fell back into bed, her lips in a thin line as she continued to think, about everything and nothing in particular.
Staying in bed was becoming tiring and she couldn't just sit around doing nothing. It was the same routine back-to-back for days on end. She was starting to get sick of it, for goodness sake.
A thought suddenly coming to her, she considered the idea of paying her prey a visit. She thought about it for a while, and it sounded just like the right thing to do now.
It would give her a reason to drive around and get out of this boring hotel, and also she would also have the chance to see what the stupid bitch was up to.
Getting a glimpse into her current life might even give her some pointers that would help when the time came to carry out her plans, and deciding it was a good idea, Katherine quickly changed and grabbed her keys.
Heading downstairs to the hotel car park, she got in her rented car and starting the ignition she first drove down the street, before heading over to Madison's house.
After she had hung around for a while and there was still no glimpse of Madison, she began to get impatient. The compound was like a graveyard.
Katherine began to doubt that Madison was even around, and checking her phone, she slapped her forehead angrily. It was a weekday. So obviously she would be at that shitty bakery, working her smelly ass off, of course.
Grumbling, Katherine turned her car around and began to make her way to the bakery. At least it wasn't too far from here, she thought.
She didn’t mind going there at all. She just wanted to see Madison, and that was all.
After a few minutes of driving, she finally arrived at the bakery, parking a short distance away to avoid getting noticed. Safely hidden between some trees, she began to watch, and as luck would have it, she sighted Madison walking out from behind the bakery, a young woman by her side.
Katherine frowned, gritting her teeth at the sight of the smile on the bitch’s face.
She fumed, anger filling up her chest as she watched them disgust.
"How dare this bitch think she has any right to be happy? How dare she? And just see how horrible I am, and she…” Katherine paused, yelling to no one in particular.
Her eyes burned with so much disgust and hate as she continued to watch them.
Her head had already begun to pound once more, and it ached so much.
There was no cure for this particular pain, as it always came whenever she saw Madison, and Katherine had a feeling that she wouldn't be okay fully until she had dealt with the bitch.
Fuming, she picked up her purse from the passenger seat and dug her hand inside in search of her pills. Even though they rarely helped, maybe she could just take some.
As soon as she found them, she unscrewed the bottle and took out four tablets, throwing them inside her mouth and chewing all to quickly.
It was an overdose, as she was supposed to take one and a half or maximum two but she didn't care. She just needed the headache to stop by force.
Her gaze traveled back to Madison who continued to chat with her friend, and Katherine clenched her fists.
Anytime she saw Madison happy or smiling, it tugged at her chest so badly. She never wanted this lady to see the daylight with a smile on her face, and vowed within herself that this would be the last time, Katherine smirked painfully.
This time she was going to end her. She would teach her such a lesson that she would remember for the rest of her life, and maybe she wouldn’t even be alive to recall it.
Katherine thought out all these drastic evils, at the same time restraining herself from letting out the frustrated scream she was hoarding within her. The angered scream that came as a result, of seeing Madison smiling.
How dare she smile like that? It meant that she was happy… that she had absolutely no worries. How dare she?
The last thing Katherine wanted was for Madison to be happy. All she wanted was to see Madison sad and miserable, and it began to seem like her previous plans had had no effect on Madison whatsoever.
The stalking, the threat letters, and the plan for her men to harass Madison, all of them had failed woefully and this she could see.
Katherine became even angrier when she wondered if Madison was confident, because she felt like Damien was always on standby to protect her.
Swallowing hard, she vowed within herself to wipe that smile off Madison's face. She would deal with her to the extent that she would forget what it meant to be happy.
She would make sure she never smiled again. So the next time she even dared to snatch what didn't belong to her, she wouldn't even give it a first thought.
Instinctively, Katherine looked down at her phone to check for any messages from Damien, and her heart clenched at the blank screen.
Every day she checked, and she even dialed his number but he rarely picked. She always hoped that he would call and beg to take her back, and that’s why she checked for his messages but he hadn't made a single move.
Instead she was the one trying to call, and the one always putting an effort. One that he kept on ignoring, and it made her want to give up sometimes.
It seemed as though he had completely erased her from his life, and moved on. He said they should take a break right, but this didn’t seem like a break at all. It was like he had cut off all ties with her and it hurt so damn much.
She was still hoping that he would realize his mistake, but so far so good? Well…
Instead of calling and checking up on her, Damien was in clubs, getting into fights and saving that gold digger.
Katherine gritted her jaw, her teeth grinding against each other.
Madison was trying to take Damien away from her, and she wondered why that bitch would think she could try to take away her joy and happiness… her only reason for living and the only man she’d loved all her life.
Did Madison even think that if she tried, then she would get away with it. Was she really that dumb? She thought she could just walk into their lives, disrupt it and try to steal another woman’s man? No way in hell.
From the looks of things though, she seemed to have her hooks in Damien already, and the worst part was that Damien was falling for it. Him trying to protect her at the club said a lot. In-fact it said it all.
Yelling in frustration, Katherine beat her fist on the steering wheel, making it horn honk loudly.
She saw a few people walking past looking in the direction of her car, but she couldn't care any less.
One second it looked like she was getting the hang of things and making progress, the next second everything looked like it was falling apart. This situation was slowly slipping out of her hands, and she had to do something about it sharp.
As she looked up to face Madison again, Katherine saw that she was already heading back into the bakery.
She watched the two women laugh as they rushed back into the bakery, and hissing bitterly, Katherine put her car in reverse and began to drive away.
…….
Damien wasted no time in getting ready today.
His meeting with Mason was already scheduled, and he knew Mason would be looking for excuses to withhold some information or drag some things further than he was supposed to, and wanting to avoid that, Damien wanted to be right on time.
Mason would not be able to use his tardiness or lateness as some excuse, and Damien himself could string his words well.
Kettlesworth was at least an hour away so he needed to get a head-start. He did not take a driver or any of his men as Mason had instructed him to come alone, and since his investigator had already informed him of his findings on the place, Damien asked him to keep his details for today so he wouldn't forget.
Also should incase something bad was about to happen, which Damien highly doubted well he could just ping Mr Rodriguez, and security would be mobilized.
As soon as he had breakfast, he made his way to his car and set off to Kettlesworth. He played some light music as he drove to keep him distracted.
He didn't want to get lost in his head and in his thoughts. Especially not today and bopping his head light to the music, Damien kept his eyes on the road.
It was not very busy yet because he had set out early, so thankfully he didn't have to deal with traffic.
When he crossed into Birmingham, he dialed his private investigator, wanting to get more details on the place, and the investigator picked up quickly as though he had been expecting Damien's call, he gave out the deets immediately.
They talked for a while, Damien questioning him about the place down to every last detail.
He needed to know more about where he was heading too.
“So… tell me again. What is this place like?" He asked.
Mr Rudiger explained in detail that it was an old bar in the outskirts of Kettlesworth. He added that it was a local bar with plenty of customers. He had spoken to a few people, and from his findings, it was popular among the people there.
Nothing suspicious ever went down there, so there was no reason for alarm.
"And you confirmed this, right?" Damien asked.
"Yes sir, I did. Everything is fine, sir."
Damien nodded thoughtfully, thanking the private investigator for his time and hanging up.
He was already at Kettlesworth. Now he just needed to follow directions to get to the bar, and tucking his phone into his jacket, he drove on.
He was almost at the bar when his phone began to ping with notifications, but he ignored it focusing on his ride, intent on getting to the bar.
When he got there, he parked his car at a safe spot, and surveying the environment for a while he sighed and took out his phone.
He scrolled down to his messages when he saw it was a text from his secretary, probably about an important business.
He couldn't possibly attend to work now, so he set a reminder. He would deal with business later. As he made to put his phone back into his pocket, he suddenly remembered something, and scrolling down to his chat with Alvarez he tapped on it.
Over the past few days he had been keeping Alvarez updated on his plans, telling him every thing that was happening, and his best friend duly listened and even helped him with some advice too.
For this, Damien was utterly grateful.
Taking a deep breath, he began to type a quick text, keeping it short and informing Alvarez that he was on his way to meet Mason Connor, and promising to give him the details later.
Alvarez replied a few seconds later, and they began to text back and forth. Seeing that time was passing, Damien sent a final message, asking Alvarez to wish him luck, and he gave a hearty smile when he saw Alvarez's reply.
Bading each other goodbye through texts still, Damien sighed for the umpteenth time, and tucking his phone back into his pocket, he then gently stepped out of the car.
It was time to face his demons!
