Theodore knew that he had to win his mate’s heart, but before that, he needed to apologize to his wolf or Lycan too, whom he treated like shit. He took wolfsbane to hurt him and shut him down. Of course, he, too, used to feel enormous pain while hurting Inigo, but he enjoyed doing that because it used to hurt his Lycan more than he used to feel. One could call him a sadist too.

A sadist is a person who gets pleasure, especially sexual pleasure, from hurting other people, but in Theodore's case, he used to hurt werewolves, not just random humans or vampires. He very well knew that his wolf wanted just his fated mate, so even after finding their mate, he used to fucked other rouge she-wolves to irk Inigo. Not just that, he kept himself away from Liara even though he knew Inigo wanted to hold her, kiss her, and make love with her and planned to have a lot of pups with her, but he didn’t want that.

All he did was ruin every moment with Liara. Yes, EVERY. He knew when Liara had confessed that she wanted him, she wasn’t asking him to fuck her like a whore, she wasn’t asking him to hit her, she wasn’t asking him to torture her. He knew when Liara trusted him, she wasn’t asking him to break it; she wasn’t asking him to use her.

He recalled her words when she had said after changing her decision to reject him.

“Beasty?” Alaric shook his shoulder, bringing him out of his thoughts. “Care to share a penny of your thoughts? You are scaring me.” He added in concern.

“I want Liara.”

“Excuse me?”

“I want my mate, Alaric. The lady sitting above paired us to stay together, right?” Theodore questioned. “Also, she didn’t reject us, and there is nothing like ‘over between us’ in the supernatural creature. On top, she didn’t want me to die. That’s why she faked my death in front of her family members.”

Alaric shook his head, not able to understand Theodore’s feelings. He had to spend years with Theodore, and he knew that Theodore didn’t know ABCD of relations. He couldn’t blame Theodore for him. After all, he grew up in such an environment.

But relationships never worked on the sentence which Theodore was mentioning. Mates are paired by Mother Selene, there was no doubt of that, but she never wrote somewhere that mates would have to stay together. One had the right to move on if their life, leaving their mate behind, either by choosing someone as their mate or might get bless with a second chance mate.

“Beasty!!!” Alaric sighed before adding, “Please don’t take her kindness in another way.”

“She saved my life without even knowing me,” Alaric said, showing a clear picture to Theodore. “What will you answer when she asks why you want her? Imagine yourself answering, ‘Because we are mates.’ Do you know how she will react after that?”

“So, it’s your wolf who wants me, not you. I want both of you, Theo. If you want me just because of this bond, then I don’t want it. I, Liara Haysbert, reject….”

“STOP,” Theodore said, cutting Alaric in between, who was mimicking Liara. “STOP IT.” He said again. “I don’t want her to reject me even though she has multiple reasons to do so.”

“Then find one strong point that can overshadow all your mistakes.” Alaric replied before continuing, “I know; you can guess that point on your own. That’s why I’m asking a couple of questions on my own. For example, if Liara wouldn’t have already rejected you and the mate you two would have ended, then still you would have wanted her?”

“Yes!!”

“Why?” Alaric asked immediately.

“I… I don’t know.”

“Find that answer then because there is a high chance that she will REJECT you because now she knows that you used mate bond from the very beginning to attack the pack and weren’t interested in her at all. Hell, you used to spend nights with her just because you didn’t want to get kicked out of the pack. You had no intention of giving a chance to US thing. I don’t know what she would be thinking about you now, but she really loved you, Man.”

“But she never….”

“Told you? Maybe because she was scared that it would change nothing in you but would break her heart if you ignored those magical words just like you ignored her presence.”

“To be honest, you were nothing but a jerk and an asshole to her. And you don’t deserve a gem like her. You never cared for her feelings; you didn’t leave a chance to hurt her; you always showed her that you didn’t want her….” Alaric gave a long speech of more than five minutes about how he treated her when she was around him. “Before knowing the truth, you hated her for what she was, but now that you know that your mother was also a werewolf. All of a sudden, you don’t have any problem with her being a werewolf.”

“No. I… I told her during our last conversation that I don’t hate her anymore but… but I did mention that I hate werewolves.” Theodore mumbled.

“Yeah! Whatever! That is almost the same thing. It’s like you don’t like Mango, but you like mango ice cream.” Alaric said, shrugging his shoulder. “Anyway, figured it out that why do you want her when you always want her to be out of your life? Why do you need her lap to sleep peacefully when I’m ready to offer mine?”

Theodore narrowed his eyes when Alaric asked the last weird question.

“Don’t give me that look. Concentrate on ‘WHY?’, okay?” Alaric reminded him. "Take your time but find a perfect answer to this question."

One month later!!!

"Leeeeeeeee!!!!" Liara had to keep her phone aside to save her ear from bleeding. "You won't believe me what happened yesterday," Tiara screamed happily from the other side of the phone. "I met OUR mate." She added in excitement, but Liara's ear rose up like a rabbit hearing this. Her heart started pounding loudly against her ribcage.

'Theo? How did he find Tee? I never told him about her.'

'Your sister is a Hollywood actress, remember?' Destiny reminded her in a sarcastic way.

"He is so handsome, Lee. Maybe this is mate bond who is talking. Dora, my wolf, is over the moon." Liara was about to ask more about him when Tiara answered her unasked question on her own, "I'm so glad that he is also in the same field as mine. He is my co-star, friend."

'He can't be Theo, then. Is it possible that Theo was never my fated mate and fooled me?' Liara questioned herself.

"I will bring him home this weekend. Okay, bye for now!! I have to order something for breakfast because I have to surprise him. Right now, he is sleeping in my bedroom." Hearing this, Destiny growled in anger, and the call got disconnected.

'Your sister is such a bitch. She just called us to indirectly inform us that she already has our mate, and we will be his second choice always.' Destiny said in anger.

'Ignore her, Destiny. I'm shocked to learn that Theo wasn't our fated. Maybe some witch would have made us believe that.' Liara tried to think about the other possibility of the situation because of the way Tiara had explained about their mate. She bet that person couldn't be Theodore.
