Chapter 315: Chapter 315
Inigo nodded his head and ran, following Liara’s scent, who was getting far away from him with each passing second.
Fear consumed him at the thought of losing him. He growled in anger and ran as fast as possible, fusing both his Lycan and vampire powers.
That was when his eyes landed on Lestat, who was standing calmly, throwing Liara at his shoulder as if she were some sort of thing.
"I was waiting for you. Say goodbye to your mate." He said it with a wink. Inigo lunged at him to kill him, but Lestat was faster, and he moved away. "As much as I want to kill you, I won’t do that this easily." Inigo fumed in anger and attacked him again, but Lestat kept teasing him.
"Get ready to feel the pain when I have her, and you will feel that through the mate bond," he added, then disappeared like black smoke from there.
Inigo kept looking for him in anger, but Lestat was nowhere to be found. He roared, losing his mind, and the ground beneath him shook. In the next second, he sensed the faint scent of Liara. He ran in that direction and found his pup in his brother’s arms.
It was coming from him.
His brother reached him to hand over Theodore’s pup to him, which he found on the ground near the river. It was clear that someone had left little Griffin there for whatever reason.
"Take him. Look like he is very curious to see what is happening around." He spoke when Griffin was silently looking at him. In fact, Griffin was silent even when he was on the ground, turning his head here and there.
Inigo gave control to Theodore because he didn’t want to hurt his pup because of his long nails. Theodore looked at his boy and wasn’t expecting to hold Griffin in this situation for the first time. No matter how much he was hurting deep down, he knew he had to be strong.
He extended his hand to carry Griffin in his arms for the first time. Griffin was a big pup in comparison to others, but he looked so tiny to Theodore when he held him carefully in his arms. He didn’t want to cherish this moment alone.
Griffin’s blue eyes were looking at him now. His tiny mouth parted, and he yawned, looking around again.
"Hey, little rascal, recognize my voice?" Theodore whispered, softly touching his cheek with his thumb. Griffin opened and closed his mouth a couple of times, telling him that he was hungry, but neither of the two men understood his silence. So he started crying a minute later.
"What is he crying for?" Theodore asked, looking at his brother. His expression was stern, but his voice was failing to mask his real feelings. He was worried for his little rascal. He tried to calm Griffin down, not able to understand what was wrong with him.
"How will I know?" His brother asked, raising his hand in the air.
"Is he alright?" Scarlett asked, appearing in front of him out of nowhere.
"I don’t know why he is crying," Theodore said he was rocking him, but it wasn’t helping at all. "How is everything over there?"
"It’s almost over. They are just wrapping up," Scarlett said and raised her hand to take Griffin's in her hands. "I guess we won..." she added and looked around in search of Liara. "...or not." She couldn’t sense or smell werewolves, but since she wasn’t around, she kind of sensed that not everything was right.
