Chapter 31: Chapter 31

“I was waiting for you,” Liara said, not hiding her happiness from her mate because that was the tip that she had received from Caroline. She had to show the real her without any wall. That was what she needed if she didn’t know R of Romance.

Once Theodore was inside, she asked him to wait for her in the study room. She joined him there after a minute with a blueberry cheesecake that her mother had sent for her.

“Here!! Mom sent this for me.” She said, passing a plate toward him.

“Then why are you sharing it with me?”

“Because I want to. Try it and tell me how it is.” She said, on which Theodore took the plate from her hand and, ignoring the spoon, he picked up the big piece of cake in one go while Liara hadn’t even started eating.

And then he started licking his fingers to clean his hands. Liara didn’t want to lie, but she really wanted to vomit at his hygiene level.

“Wow!! It looks like you like cheesecake, just like me.” Liara said, hiding her disgust face expression. She didn’t want to make him feel bad by giving him that look. “Wait!! I will bring more for you.” She said and left from there.

‘Really? She didn’t feel disgusted at all?’ Theodore wondered. And after a minute, Liara was back with another piece of cake. He was ready to eat in the same way as before when Liara spoke.

“I can teach you how to eat with a spoon if you let me.”

“You started changing me already?” Theodore questioned bitterly.

“No. No!!” Liara shook her head. “Learning a new thing won’t change you. For example, if I will learn how to fight, then it won’t change what I’m from inside.” She added.

“But if you think so, then I won’t insist on you again,” Liara said, keeping her spoon aside and grabbing the cake from her hand. “But then… I can join you in eating on your way, right?”

Theodore was taken aback by her words. “Do you know there are seven reasons why you should eat with your hands?”

With that, Liara started teaching him something in which she was pro,

“1. There is a chakra connection.” She explained in detail about that, and then she explained six more reasons why one should eat with a hand.

After eating the cake, Liara started teaching him with Alphabet. After a while, she taught him how to hold a pen.

Unlike any toddler, Theodore was learning everything quickly. Liara asked him to practice what she had taught him while she started studying her own.

After a few hours, once Theodore was done with the basics, he wanted to know what to do next.

He didn’t want to admit it, but he was enjoying this. All the vampires were turned into a vampire in their adulthood, so they were already educated, unlike him.

But when his eyes landed on her, she was sleeping, and her head was on the table, on her notebook. And she didn’t remove her specs.

He was studying on her bed in the study room. So, he silently left his place and went near her. Inigo was suggesting him to carry her in his arms and take her to the bed so that she could sleep properly. But he ignored his suggestion as always and kept staring at her.

He didn’t realize when it was already morning. The moment he sensed Liara was going to wake up, he quickly returned back to the bed and held the notebook, in which he was practicing last night, showing that he was studying.

Liara yawned and saw the time and then her head toward her mate. “I think you should.” She muttered, feeling upset that he let her sleep on the chair.

“Hmm!!” Theodore hummed and left his new notebook and pen on the bed, and that was when Liara realized that he was holding his notebook in the opposite direction. Once he left, she quickly grabbed his notebook, wondering whether he was writing in an opposite notebook, but she soon got her answer.

‘Please tell me that our mate was looking at us before we woke up.’ Destiny howled in excitement.

“Hey!! May I sit here?” A young girl asked Liara when she was having her breakfast alone. Liara nodded her head and let her sit because it was the first time someone wanted to sit with her. “I’m new here.” She spoke. “Reva Smith!! First-year!!” She spoke again.

‘Since when do first-year students start getting this hostel building?’ Liara wondered.

“Liara Haysbert.”

“I want to become Nurse Midwife.” The girl name Reva spoke. “That’s why I’m here. I’m inspired to become a nurse by my mother. She is also a nurse. Do you know Beta Tobey Gilbert? He is my grandfather.”

Liara didn’t want to be rude, but this new student was non-stop radio. She quickly finished her breakfast and left from there.

“Ms. Haysbert!!” Liara’s step halted when she heard someone calling her name. She turned her head and found Alpha Kane Pataky waiting for her.

“Hello, Alpha!!” She greeted him.

“Thank you for not telling your family member about what happened with you the day before yesterday.” He spoke. “How’s your leg now?”

“I’m… I’m good.” Liara replied.

“That’s great. By the way, do you have any idea who attacked those girls who broke your leg?” Alpha Kane asked, looking at her suspiciously. Liara’s body becomes numb hearing that question. She couldn’t understand how to answer that question.

“I…I…”

“Calm down. Nothing to get worried out.” Kane Pataky said calmly.

Destiny took control of Liara’s body and spoke, “I apologize for my human behavior, Alpha. But when you mentioned the night, then her memories of Jarlen’s death flashed in her eyes who your people killed.” She said, shutting Kane’s mouth. “Anyways, coming back to your question, no, we don’t see anyone doing this.”

“Can you give control to your human?” Kane asked.

“Obviously, I can, but I won’t,” Destiny said with a smile. “I don’t want my human to take any type of stress. And I think you shouldn’t do the same because my brother told me that you would look after us in every way possible,” she added.

“Why don’t you ask me whatever you have to?” Destiny said casually, silently saying ‘I got this’ to Liara.

“And how is that possible that attack you didn’t see anyone that night? And why did that attacker not attack you but other girls?”

“First, if you know what had happened with us that night, then you might know that I was on the floor, and my stomach was toward the ground, so I didn’t get a chance to look at what was going on behind my back. Second, maybe that attacker didn’t attack me but other girls because I was already injured, OR maybe that attacker didn’t attack me but other girls because I was already on the ground while others were not, OR maybe because that attacker didn’t attack me but other girls because I was his mate.”

“What RUBBISH?”

“Rubbish is your question, Alpha. Instead of asking me, ‘why that attacker didn’t attack you but other girls?’ you should tighten the security of the pack. Who knows, that attacker might attack you next?” Destiny asked. “Now, please excuse me!! I have to attend my class.”

Kane gritted his teeth in anger while Liara left from there. Destiny soon gave control to her.

‘You shouldn’t have talked to him in that way.’ Liara said.

‘Yeah! Whatever! We’re like Steven Grant and Marc Spector inside the same body. You’re a saint-like Steven Grant, so let me badass like Marc Spector. I feel so terrible that I couldn’t protect you that night. But I promise I will be strong enough to keep you safe so that you don’t need that stupid Kane for protection.’ Destiny muttered and immediately calmed down when they entered the class. And the moment they entered inside, her eyes widened...
