A lot of things started going on his mind, and the first question was, ‘Did Lia know about it?’
He doubted that because she knew. Her scent was still the same. So, he doubted that anyone around her could sense that she was pregnant.
He heard the faint sound of his pup again and recalled how he could miss hearing the same at the time of Tiara. It might be because he was so blinded by his own anger that he ended up killing him or her. That mere thought made him feel guilty.
He really needed to control his anger. By staying with Liara, he too had inbuilt the habit of reading in his free time, and he had read somewhere, ‘If you care about the relationship, cool down before you speak. Because you blurt, you hurt.’
He was not perfect and had made a lot of mistakes, but he promised to keep learning from his mistakes.
“Odo,” Liara mustered the courage to ask something that had been going in her mind for a long. It was bothering her. “Is it possible that you ended up getting any woman or women pregnant before you met me?” She asked softly. That questioned even Theodore because he didn’t see this coming.
“I… I’m not sure.” Theodore replied truthfully. He didn’t know there was something called a condom before. Now, he knew about condoms, but he didn’t care to use them. He liked fucking Liara bare instead of wearing any socks. “Most of the time, I used to end up killing the woman. So, I doubt that situation.”
“You doubt? Does that mean you’re not sure about it?” Liara asked, getting insecure that someone, some woman, could walk into their life claiming herself as the mother of his pup.
Theodore sensed her feelings and kissed her stomach, “Lia, does it matter to you even after knowing that I love you?” He questioned, and immediately she calmed down. “We have both known each other for a long time now, Lia. When you decided to claim me as your mate, you knew what you were choosing. Still, there is something I will tell you about myself. I was like a dead person before I met you. Love, romance, flirting, caring, and all these things I have learned from you. I don’t have a habit of expressing myself, nor I’m good at it.”
“I had never learned to speak; please, sorry, thank you, and all these types of words until I met you.”
“Your arrival has brought a wave of emotions inside me. Though I’m more than a hundred now, but I’m still learning a lot of things. I have never said this to anyone before, but the truth is that I’m scared of loneliness or the thought of being left alone. I’m scared of not being good enough for you because I could bet there are a lot of good people out there that deserve you. But then, I’m selfish.” He chuckled and found Liara smiling.
“I know I’m not the best mate that you can have, even though you will tell me that I’m perfect for you. You have expressed your love for me countless times, but still, I’m scared of you leaving me.” Theodore expressed. “No. Don’t think that I doubt your love for me or anything like that. It’s just that I have seen a lot of worse things in my life. That’s why I can’t help myself from thinking about the worst situation.”
‘I won’t leave you.’ Liara mind linked with him, planting a kiss on his forehead.
“When I confess that I love you, it means that I love everything about you. I love the scar under your chin, and I will love the stretch marks that you will have someday. I love how your eyes lighten whenever you look at me. I love how you sleep peacefully in my arms. I love how a curve appears on your lips when you tease me by calling me ‘Odo.’”
“Loving me was difficult for you as my guard was always up, and I was very rude to you, but to me, loving you was so easy. All I want to say is that don’t let your insecurities come between us, and I promise to do the same, okay?” He asked and wiped Liara’s tears. “Why the fuck are you crying? I just gave the longest speech of my life.”
“Will you promise me something?” Liara said, wiping her happy tears. She couldn’t believe that Theodore had said all those sweet things to her.
