Chapter 237: Chapter 237

Sophia was smiling ear to ear, watching Theodore's words, especially the way he expressed his love for Liara. The show almost came to an end. She couldn’t wait to meet them personally. And this time, she wasn’t planning to wait for her turn now. She was going to grab it after all since when a mother started waiting for her turn to meet her own daughter and son.

All of nowhere, her phone rang, and she saw the display to see who was calling her.

‘Delilah’

Sophia knew as a girl working with Colton. But why was she calling her unless it involved… Her heartbeat quickened, thinking about his son. She knew how he loved messing with danger.

“What happened?” Brandon asked, looking at Sophia’s display. Delilah’s call got disconnected after a full ring, and in the next second, a message popped on Sophia’s screen from Delilah.

[Mrs. Haysbert. Sir has lost his control. One dead, three injured. Hurry up.]

With that, another message popped up with the address. Sophia couldn’t help but grab Caroline’s arms to take that place urgently.

Sophia looked at Liara, who was kissing Theodore. She was happy for her and wanted to meet her, but at that moment, she had to leave because Colton needed to calm down, or people around him might die because of his anger and the darkness within him.

“Please, Hunter!!” Sophia requested before leaving from there. That PLEASE was for a lot of things that Sophia didn’t need to speak about, but Brandon understood on his own after all, it had been more than thirty-four of their marriage.

Sophia silently requested to sort out this issue that was going on between them. She silently requested not to leave just because she was leaving. To be honest, even Brandon wanted to accompany Sophia, but he knew Colton might try to kill him in anger. Something like that had happened that night when his father, Logan Haysbert, died protecting him from his own son.

That was a different thing that Colton had a blurry memory about that. He didn’t remember what had exactly happened. Brandon didn’t know what the future had held for Colton. With each passing year, he was changing and consumed by the darkness. Brandon had consulted about him with the Oracle as well because supernatural hunters get powerful, and their thirst and desire for power increases with time, but with Colton, it was something different.

And that was when he learned that Colton was cursed, not in this life but ages before, and the darkness within him was the signal that the curse was in the loop and it would come to an end with his death. And the path of his destruction would start the day he would lose the last piece of his sanity, consumed by all types of negative energy.

Brandon didn’t have the heart to say all this to Sophia, not after knowing that she was a heart patient. While he was thinking all this, he found Liara looking at the table where he was sitting, and he didn’t miss the hurt and pain in her eyes when she saw her mother wasn’t there, along with her sister.

‘Oh no, no, no, no, no!! She is getting all wrong.’ Brandon thought and wanted to clear up this misunderstanding.

While on the other side, Liara mind linked to Theodore, ‘I don’t want to stay here. Not even a second.’

‘Okay.’ Theodore didn’t mind leaving his own party if it was hurting his mate to this extent. He didn’t want to be rude, but after this incident, he didn’t want Brandon to be anywhere near Liara.

Theodore wanted to leave just like that, but it was Alaric who asked him for a good reason before leaving so that it would have had left a bad effect on his image.

He wasn’t allowed to ruin his image, that too at the first meeting.

“I’m sorry! But I need to leave early with my wife. She isn’t feeling well.” Theodore came up with an excuse.

“Oh! What exactly is happening with her?” One of them asked in concern, looking at Liara.

“I’m feeling nauseous, and my head is spinning,” Liara responded, knowing how poor Theodore was with lies. On top, she was sure that he barely knew about any diseases of the human world because he had never fallen sick. “I’m not sure, but maybe it’s good news.” She added on which Theodore furrowed his eyebrow. How could falling sick be good news? Listening to this while a couple of them smiled, and the rest of them nodded their head in an understanding tone, knowing the early sign of pregnancy. But Alaric coughed at this excuse.

He could bet that Theodore didn’t understand her words.

“Congratulations!!”

“Though it is not confirmed yet. But I wish that the result will come out to be positive.”

‘What is this? Congratulations? Good news? Positive? What result?’ Theodore mind-linked Liara and glared at Alaric, who was coughing and grinning ear to ear.

“Excuse me, please!!” Liara muttered and acted like she would vomit any moment and dragged Theodore from there in a hurry.

“What was that?” Theodore questioned.
