Chapter 23: Chapter 23
“Thank you,” Liara said in a low tone, to which Theodore ignored her. They were at the same place where she had left him after treating him. “Here!! This is the cream that you have… have to apply on your chest area.” She added, forwarding a tube toward him, but he didn’t take it.
Liara didn’t know what to say next!! She had been thinking about the morning incident the whole day and also the way to compensate for the problem that her brother had created in his life. She knew Calvin shouldn’t have had him kicked out of his job.
And not just that, he even made sure that he wouldn’t get any type of job in the whole city.
“I’m sorry on behalf of my brother.” She said after a few minutes and again didn’t receive any response from him. “I… I don’t want to reject you. I’m also sorry for talking about a rejection last night. I… I shouldn’t have brought that topic, not without knowing you.”
Liara sighed before asking, “I’m not who speaks a lot, so I will come directly to the point. Do you want me or NOT? If not, then I guess what my brother did is in your favor because you have no reason to stay here anymore or follow me. And if you want me, then I have a way with which we can stay in touch. I talked with the Alpha of the pack, and he is ready to give you the job of Janitor in the pack. All you have to do is hide your vampire scent with the scent of your other half-part, a werewolf.”
Hearing this, Theodore hissed in disgust and hatred. Only he knew how much he hated his other half. The moment he was kicked out of the job, he was mad at himself for giving in to the silent plea of his mate. He should have strangled that brother of hers. Maybe her brother would be a strong opponent, but no werewolf or vampire was powerful compared to him. Plus, he had a fight experience than any old werewolf could have.
He was mad at himself for keeping his emotions first over his job, because of which we had been here for the past two years. At that moment, he was all blank and didn’t know what he was going to do next. But it looked like his fate had another plan; his naive or stupid mate offered him a job in the pack.
That meant he didn’t need to sneak inside the pack.
But the problem was that accepting that job offer was giving Liara hope that he was there for her or wanted her, which was not true. Though he wanted to tell the truth to her face rather than play games with her but he couldn’t miss the golden opportunity to enter the pack for real.
He bet she wouldn’t have been saying this if she knew his intention.
“If you wait to reject me for around two years, then you can at least give a couple of months to our bond, right? If it doesn’t work out, then we can reject each other.” Liara offered and hoped for him to say something this time.
“Do you really want someone like me as your mate?” Theodore finally opened his mouth. “I’m a monster, Liara, who killed his own mother. I won’t lie, but you shock me with your kindness and positive side. Why on earth do you even want to work on this bond? Don’t you feel disgusted with me?”
“First, I won’t know whether I want someone to like you as my mate without knowing you. Second, you don’t look like a monster to me. There are a lot of cases in the world in which a mother dies after giving birth to her pup. I bet if your mother chose to give birth to you because she wanted, no matter whether you’re the result of something that she never liked. Third, I want to work on this bond because I don’t want to stay my whole life in guilt that Moon Goddess gave me you as my gift, and I didn’t accept it. In life, you will realize there is a role for everyone you meet. Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, and some will teach you. But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you. They are the rare and amazing people who remind you why it’s worth it.”
“I have to know why Moon Goddess sent you into my life,” Liara said. “And the last one, I don’t feel disgusted with you. After all, it’s not your mistake from where you come.” She said with a smile. A smile that did something to his heart, still he kept maintaining a poker face.
‘Great job.’ Destiny motivated her human. She knew that her human wasn’t good at initiating the conversation but was too good at question and answer. She was among the rare creatures who could write ten papers and answer with just two marks questions.
“I believe you need something to think about it. So, take your time and let me know your answer tomorrow morning by showing your presence in the pack. You have to ask the guards to you want to meet Beta Tobey Gilbert and tell them my name.” Destiny spoke in excitement because Liara was positive that she wouldn’t speak a word now. “If you will there, then we will assume that you want to give a chance to US and if not, then… it’s fine.”
Theodore couldn’t take the trust that she was showing in him. Something inside him was making him feel really, really, very guilty. “Aren’t you scared that I might be the wrong person?”
“Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, and some will teach you. But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you.” Liara repeated her own words again. “I want to be the last type of person in your life. It’s your hand that what you want to be.”
Liara looked at the time and nodded her head; she quickly left from there. She knew that she wasn’t going to leave the pack again because she was positive that people around her might observe this as well because she rarely used to leave the pack.
After reaching her room, she couldn’t help but wonder what he would decide.

“So? What have you decided?” Alaric asked because he couldn’t resist listening to their conversation.
“What she is expecting from is impossible, Alaric. I’m incapable of loving someone. The person who doesn’t love himself can’t love others too. I know the moment she comes to know about my truth, she will be the one who will get hurt the most. And maybe that’s the only way to show that not everyone deserves her fucking kindness. I don’t have any other option than to use her.”
“I started feeling bad for her already because she is going to learn the truth in the hardest way,” Alaric mumbled, shrugging his shoulder.
‘Whether she sees me as a Monster or not, but I know what I’m. I know that I can’t give you anything except pain, Liara.’
