Holding her in his arms, he stared at her face throw out the night and was scared about whether he was allowed to leave her even in the morning or not.

After thinking for hours, he finally left alone again, only to attend the training. He wasn’t going far, right?

“I was thinking of keeping a match between the pups trained under Moana and the pups trained under your mate TODAY,” Ambrose said in the training ground.

“Go ahead. I don’t have any problem with that.” Theodore agreed. Now that Moana wasn’t here, then it would be fair to check on the pups and what they exactly learned without giving any privilege to pups under Liara.

“Have you planned anything for their test?”

“Not really, but let’s divide it into three stages. The first will be to survive on their own by staying alone for at least three hours on an empty stomach during the night and surrounded by the hunter, who will set a trap for them all over that area. Obviously, we will be watching them. It will be an individual test. Everyone will have to perform this test alone.”

“Why at night? They won’t be able to see things clearly.”

“Exactly. That’s my point. Nights mean danger, and I want to see how much they are prepared for their enemy because whoever they would be, they could easily see them.” Theodore explained. “Don’t worry, Old man!! We will be there hidden around them,” he assured Ambrose, who was a little disturbed by the idea of surviving at night.

“The second test will be to defeat a werewolf in the daylight. And the third one will be to defeat a vampire at night. Both of these tests will be in a team because it’s obvious that a pup can’t defeat an adult.” Theodore said and looked at Ambrose. “What do you say?”

“Fine with me. But I will meet that vampire and that hunter first before leaving him or her anywhere near pups.” Ambrose said.

“I doubt that the hunter will reveal his or her identity. All I can say is that hunter is your nephew, Lia’s brother. If you want to….”

“No need,” Ambrose said, cutting him in between. “But how is your mate a werewolf, and her brother… One of her brothers is the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, isn’t it? The famous Alpha who became a father without knowing a thing about his pups’ mother.”

“I see… you are taking an interest in knowing your family members’ lives. If you want, I can arrange a meeting between Uncle and nephews.” Theodore said to tease me, and it worked.

“No, Thanks,” Ambrose growled in annoyance.

“What is stopping you from meeting them? It’s not that Brandon Haysbert is raised by his real parents. I don’t know what his REAL father was like, but my so-called father-in-law is a good person and, most importantly, a great father.”

“That’s why he kicked both of you out of his house.” Ambrose pointed out.

“I never said he is a PERFECT person. He is an arrogant, short-tempered, boring, and intelligent old man.” Theodore talked about Brandon and wondered how a man like him was blessed with a daughter who had a heart of gold. But then, Brandon was married to Sophia, a person whose exact replica was his mate, except for that part that Liara didn't have a habit of speaking a lot while Sophia was non-stop radio.

‘Wow!! I can’t wait for the day when your son-in-law will pass the same comment on you.’ He heard Liara’s voice in his mind, who had heard the piece of their conversation. Not that she was mad at him for saying something like that about her father because those words suited him, but at the same time, Theodore wasn’t perfect either.

Theodore didn’t reply to her anything. Before that, he thought about a little version of Liara, who would have a mate. And he felt nothing. All Blank.

He never understood the possessive feeling that Brandon had for his daughters even though he was older than Brandon.

‘That’s because we haven’t become a father of a daughter yet.’ Inigo said and made him think by giving him an example, ‘Imagine having a little creature which is ours from the first day of her existence to her eighteenth or twenty birthday. And all of nowhere, someone would enter our life to claim her as his.’

Analyzing the situation, he wished not to have a daughter.

Inigo shook his head and didn’t say anything because that part wasn’t in his or Liara’s hand.

“Okay!! So, twenty-four pups are participating. Twelve from Liara’s group and Twelve from Moana’s group.” Ambrose said. There were a lot of pups under Moana, but Moana had already decided from day one who would be those twelve pups who would participate in the test. Ambrose told the pups about the rules of the test and all the tests that they would have to face.

“We will be watching you silently. So, don’t you dare to cheat because if you do that, the whole team will be disqualified for that round!!”

Hearing all the tests, Liara was positive that her pups would rock the second and third tests in the group. She wasn’t sure how much they could handle alone. She had planned a revision in the last two to three days, but she got a chance to do that.

“I’m scared, Lee. What if I fail you, and you will have to leave for here?" Lucy asked in tension.

“Ah. Don't worry about those stupid and irrelevant things before this minor test. I'm positive that you all will do well." Liara said to cheer them up. "What do I always tell everyone?'

"Don't stress. Do your best. Forget the rest." All the pups shouted loudly, to which Liara laughed.

"In case you end up falling into the problem, then instead of panicking, think calmly, just like the story of two frogs, remember?" She said, to which everyone nodded their head. "Perfect. I'm sure you all will do your best."

Just like they decided, all the twenty-four pups were left on different sides of the forest where they had to arrange food for themselves and protect themselves from falling into any trap.

This had barely started when a lot of people sensed one single vampire. Everyone became alert, but Theodore knew that scent, so before anyone would have started attacking that vampire, he was the first to reach the vampire.

"What is it?"

"Elder Alaric asked me to inform you that we need help. They are in huge numbers this time. If we fail, then they will be reaching here anytime soon."
