In the next moment, Theodore's hand turned into claws with big nails, and he started digging into the soiling.

‘Please be okay, Lia.’ He said through the mind link but didn’t receive any response in return. That was when he found her head. He carefully digs it, not planning to hurt her body or face while digging.

“Boss.. may I….” Chris offered his help, reaching near him, on which Inigo growled at him. Liara was under that ground vertically, so he didn’t think of people to help. But Chris ignored him and shifted into his wolf form only to dig the soil from behind as Theodore was digging from the front.

It would help Theodore in pulling Liara out of this death grave quickly. Theodore sensed that she wasn’t breathing when he removed the mud from her face. He quickened the process and pulled her out of the ground, grabbing her shoulder.

“Lia? Lia…” He called her name but got no response. Her whole body, including her nose, was covered with mud. He grabbed her hand and whispered to the gate stone.

“Take us to any river, NOW.” He said, recalling Liara’s words. ‘This ring will listen to your request as well. Because Happy had told me that it would always listen to me, and I asked it to always listen to my mate’s request as well.’

In the next moment, a gate opened in front of him. Chris shifted into his human form and was short to see this. Carrying Liara in his arms, he stepped in the other part of the gate, and that disappeared.

“Holy fuck!!!” Chris exclaimed, watching this type of magic. But he didn’t have a lot of time to waste when he heard that even Derik was shouting for help, and for some reason, his powers were now working. He was able to shift here, which was impossible, and now this.

“Come on, Lia!! You’re stronger than this.” Theodore talked to her, pumping her chest and forcing her to breathe through her mouth. When this didn’t work, he used one hand to hold her chin and lift it up, then kept her mouth open using his thumb. Placing his other hand on her forehead and pinching her nose with his index finger and thumb. Little did he know that her nose was already closed because of mud; he took a normal breath, covered and sealed her open mouth with his, and blew it into her mouth.

It was something that Liara had taught him at the time of the shortness of breath. At that moment, he had turned the position into a kissing scene, but at this moment, he really wanted this to work.

‘Come on, Lia!! Stop scaring me.’ He said through the mate bond. ‘Come on!! Come on!!’

Suddenly her eyes opened, and pushing his away, she coughed as she felt her throat dry and a blockage in her nose.

She rolled, placing her stomach against the ground, and coughed with force to take out all the mud from her nose. She coughed continuously while Theodore rubbed her back, happy that finally, she was in her sense. She coughed for a while until her eyes landed on the river in front of her. Theodore understood what she wanted, so carrying her in his arms, he went inside the river. He watched Liara coughing a lot; she forced herself to vomit to clean the dirt as much as possible.

It took a while before she finally returned back to normal.

“Odo!!” Liara threw her arms around his neck to finally hug him, like hugging him for real, unlike holding him for support. She started crying because, for a moment, she felt like that was it, that was it. She mightn’t be able to see him again.

Theodore was mad at her for going anywhere on her own even when he had asked her not to, but a part of him knew that she didn’t land in that trouble willingly. Nor did she was that foolish. He wrapped his hand around her and helped her in calming down.
