Chapter 170: Chapter 170

There was an awkward silence between them after that conversation. After finishing dinner, they both sat on the bed with some space between them. This was new for them, ARGUEMENT and DISAPPROVAL.

Theodore sensed Liara’s hand silently moving toward his. A minute after, her fingers touched his, and she waited for some progress from him.

“Ahh!!” She cried when she was pulled into his arms all of a sudden. She lifted her head and found him staring at her. “I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry”

Both apologized to each other at the same time and then smiled at each other. “I didn’t know that in the process of getting bolder, you will one day shut my mouth.” Theodore pointed out.

“Do you realize one thing?”

“What?”

“That we have changed a lot from the day we met to now,” Liara mumbled. She didn’t have to name the changes in them. All she knew was that they both had grown together in a positive way. Theodore hummed, agreeing with her.

“Thank you for not leaving my side, Lia. Thank you for giving meaning to my life.” Theodore kissed her hair and grabbed his phone to call someone. “Hello, Mrs. Gosling!! It’s me, Theodore Wayne,” He spoke on which Liara’s head snapped toward him. She was surprised that her neck didn’t break in that stunt.

‘Mrs. Gosling? Is he talking to Caroline?’

“Is it a good time to talk?” Theodore asked, rubbing Liara’s arms while she cursed the security around, because of which she couldn’t hear what the lady from the other side was speaking. Was this really Caroline or someone else?

“Great. I want to build a hospital. I’m sure about its size yet, but it must have at least 10-15 rooms in it. Since you’re in this field, then I’m sure that you’re getting what I mean.”

Liara was now sure that it was Caroline for sure. She was one of the best architects in this world and was in this business.

“Yes. That will be perfect. You can use the idea of the previous work and send those diagrams as an example to my email that I’m sending right away. After that, my mate can talk to you if she needs to make any changes to that design.”

Liara tried to listen to what Caroline was speaking when Theodore became silent but failed miserably. “Sure. Thank you for your time. Have a good day!!”

With that, Theodore disconnected the call and looked at his curious mate.

“Who was that?”

“An architect.”

“I know that, but who was that?”

“Mrs. Gosling?”

“Argh!! Was that Caro?” Liara asked directly when she realized that he was playing with her words.

“Yes!! She was Caroline Haysbert Gosling.” Theodore replied and looked at his mate, who wanted to know more. It was written all over her face. A lot of question was written on her face, which he could read loud and clear. “Artemis Gosling owns a five percent share of my company. To be honest, I wanted to stay away from any of your family members, but then this guy… he is..”

“Funny, sweet, loving, and amazing guy,” Liara said with a smile. She didn’t want to say that, but then Artemis Gosling was someone who would be the dream of any woman.

“I’m glad that he treats you like his sister.” Theodore hissed while his words were laced with jealousy. “He convinced me by throwing cheesy lines by telling me that it was a pure business. At the same time, he helped a lot in increasing my sales by asking or maybe ordering all his employees to get jewelry from LIA. He kind of acted like a brand ambassador.”

“He also told me that if I will need any type of help, then he and his mate will always be there for me,” Theodore revealed. “And when I glared at him for saying so, he added ‘PROFESSIONALLY.’” Though Liara was listening to all this, she could imagine all the things in her imagination; she couldn’t help herself from smiling by watching them getting along.

“Ah! So, now you’re at least on a good term to have each other’s number as well.” Liara teased him.

“I…I don’t have their number on my phone. Hell, I even threw the business cards that he gave to me.”

“Not before remembering their number? Hmm,” Liara smiled, knowing how fast Theodore had a habit of learning anything. In short, he was blessed with good memory.

“This is pure business. Nothing else. Caroline Gosling will do her work, and I will pay for that work. So, stop teasing me. I was planning to contact her anyway to build a safe place for my people,” Theodore said, crushing her in his arm but making fun of him. He could sense that even though she had just a wolf, she was able to handle the strength of a Lycan.

‘What is her new strength excepting from becoming a healer?’ He wondered.

At the same time, Liara knew Theodore wasn’t accepting the truth. It was not just BUSINESS. He had accepted them as family and was treating them as one; otherwise, no one just called anyone at any moment, talking about work.

At the same time, Caroline wouldn’t have entertained him and would have asked to talk with her secretary before approaching her. But the fact Artemis had shared their personal number with Theodore was a sign that they had made the first move from their side.

Theodore sent his email id to Caroline and hoped to get a sample of a couple of designs soon, if not now.

“Thank you,” Liara mumbled and kissed his chin.

“Don’t be. You were right in the first place.” Theodore mumbled. “Instead of keeping you away from me to keep you safe. I will have to make a safe place for you,” he added, and his sharp hearing power heard something.

‘That’s the room of the new healer.’ A lady said, and in the next moment, she cried in pain short-lived as if someone pressed his or her against that lady's mouth.

With that, he heard the footsteps of four people in the corridor. Theodore looked around and saw the window; grabbing her arms, he dragged her toward it, “Jump from here.”
