Chapter 123: Chapter 123

Hearing Theodore’s words, Liara still felt nervous about taking control, but not as before still she did.

“Thank you,” Theodore muttered and kissed her forehead again, itching with his index finger around his neck.

“Can you please stop pretending?” She asked, on which he furrowed his eyebrow, wondering what did he go again. Liara’s hand reached near his neck and grabbing his bowtie, she threw it away in irritation as if it was stuck around her neck and she was feeling suffocated her. She then started opening the first two buttons of the shirt with one hand. Once she failed, she removed her other hand from his arm and used both her hands to unbutton his shirt.

When she was doing this, she got a view of the tattoo around his neck. It got her a little curious, wondering what exactly was the design of his tattoo.

Last night, she couldn’t get a chance to look at them. But at the same time, she couldn’t see anything clearly by opening just two buttons. She removed her hand from his shirt, feeling embarrassed because Theodore was watching her when she was peeking inside his shirt.

“Do you like it?” Theodore asked, making her look into his eyes.

“Like what?” She questioned him back.

“The change that you suggested to me on our first night?” Theodore asked, wrapping his hand around her tiny waist. Liara took a deep breath but didn’t answer anything. “I like the way your eyes wanted to scan my chest. Earlier I want to hide my scars, but now… now I want to stay shirtless always.”

Liara pressed her lips tightly, stopping herself from speaking anything.

“Say it.”

“What?”

“Whenever you press your lips tightly, you always stop yourself from speaking anything. So, say it.” Liara didn’t know when did Theodore observe that part, but after a few seconds, she finally spoke.

“No need to stay shirtless. I don’t want to spend my time fighting with all the females around.” She said, and that was when she realized that she was thinking about their future… that too together as a mate. She mentally slapped herself when she saw a smirk on his lips.

She pushed him away a little and was glad that Theodore gave her the space that she needed. They slowly walked toward together, where all the arrangements for dinner were made. Their hands brushed each other a couple of times, but neither of them pulled them apart.

“Alaric!! He is behind all this money, and his great-grandson helped me with this look.” He spoke, knowing that Liara wanted to know about this sudden change in him. “Call me a coward, but I just wanted to kill myself when I realized how wrong I was all these times. And the fact that I ended up losing you as well, I feel like my soul was ripped apart.”

“So, where do you think you were wrong?” Liara asked, thinking Theodore was saying all this after finding out the truth. But she believed that even if the truth would have been different, in that case, killing innocent werewolves didn’t make any sense.

“I shouldn’t have poured my anger and hatred on innocent werewolves by killing them,” Theodore replied. “I… I should have let the past go just like you had always suggested to me, Lia. That’s why I’m here near you instead of killing and hunting vampires now. I remember all your words clearly. Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”

Liara didn’t show that she was happy hearing Theodore’s words.

“Lia, I know you won’t believe me, but that doesn’t stop me from admitting that I regret whatever I did in my whole life. I… I just don’t know how to redeem it,” Theodore said. “At the same time, I realized too late how much you mean to me, more than my hatred for anyone. You had already left me when I recognized my feeling for you.”

‘Couldn’t he say ‘how much I loved you’? Playing stubborn. Huh?’ Destiny scoffed.

After that, Theodore told her everything from the day he gained consciousness till he reached his parents’ Mansion. He narrated how he had planned to meet Tiara to reach near her but ended up getting shocked after finding her as his mate.

He also explained how he had shut himself down with the pain of losing her. Hell, he wanted to reject Tiara immediately, but Inigo stopped himself, reminding him that Theodore owed forgiveness from his wolf as well. So, one after how wolf blackmailed him, reminding him about the crime that he committed on Inigo by torturing him by taking the doses of wolfsbane.

‘Wow! I found a couple of reasons more to kick his ass.’ Destiny said, glowing in anger.

‘He changed for me? And marking Tiara was just a mistake for him.’ Liara thought and felt bad for Tiara. If Theodore was telling the truth. Just imagine that after marking someone, you would tell them that it was nothing but a fucking mistake then their heart would definitely break.

By then, they had already reached their destination. Theodore pulled the chair for her like a gentleman and helped her settle.

“So, this look… is this in trend or something?” Theodore asked, sitting beside her by pulling the chair, which was kept on just opposite Liara.

‘Dare you to manipulate the truth to save your sister because if you don’t tell him, then I will.’ Destiny warned. ‘You won’t be filing his ears against Tiara, just telling the truth. The truth that he deserved to know because we both are his mates.’

Theodore observed her talking with her wolf. And he could bet that they were disagreeing about something; otherwise, they wouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. But what? He used that time to serve food on the plate.

Inigo mentally prayed that it had nothing to do with the feeling of Tiara he had felt before. She was angry, jealous, and sad. He knew it was her emotions, not some acting, because if she was really the reason behind this, then she had crossed her limits.

“Tee!! She is behind this.” Liara replied and watched his jaw getting clenched. He nodded his head and controlled himself from not leaving in anger because even after all this, Liara was here, sitting near him when she had chanced to cancel this date.

“Please don’t be mad at her. Her behavior is a little childish….”

“Can we focus on ourselves for now?” Theodore asked, cutting her in between. He didn’t want to pour his anger that he was stored for Tiara on Liara.

Liara nodded her head and prayed to Moon Goddess to handle everything. Little did she know tonight was the first dark night of Tiara’s life.
