Sophia sighed before replying, “No, you haven’t heard that, right? And Oli didn’t kill Jasper, Steve’s real father. Rebecca did. If she wouldn’t have killed him, then he would have killed her. Hell, he didn't have any soft corner for Steve; he was just using that boy. Rebecca is bearing Steve’s anger and hatred because she doesn’t want to tell him the truth, the full truth, the truth that Steve is not the result of love but a result of rape that his so-called father did to his mother.” Sophia said, fuming in anger.

“She didn’t want to reveal the truth because this would break Steve, and… he would start hating himself. That’s why she is bearing the hatred of her son.” Sophia said, wiping the tear from the corner of her eyes. “And the part that he is blind from birth, he always got treated differently from everyone. That has filled his heart with bitterness, anger, and hatred.” Theodore felt that he wasn’t the only one who had a complicated life. The lady above there had given a different type of pain in everyone’s life.

For example, Liara got bullied all her life, even by her twin’s sister, because of which she fell into depression.

“All right, you guys can continue if you want to. I’m going to talk with Lee!!” Brandon said, standing on his feet. “She needed to come out of her hidden hole and talk with her mate,” he muttered before leaving from there.

Theodore couldn’t believe in his ears that his father-in-law was actually saying that. Inigo howled in happiness. Once Brandon left, Sophia spoke, “Don’t be happy. This will not help you.”

Theodore looked at her, wondering how she sensed that he was happy because there was no expression on his face.

“I know my daughter; she will not forgive you for watching your these efforts like cooking for her or buying books for her,” Sophia said.

“Why? Why can she give it one chance? Did I ruin everything that bad, Mom?” Theodore asked in a low tone, feeling frustrated that how she was always right. “You forgave your husband even when he killed your father. Then why can she do the same if she is your carbon copy in kindness.”

“Don’t compare your situation with my husband. My father might be the best father for me, but he wasn’t a good person, so I couldn’t be mad at Brandon for the things that he did right. Anyway, the reason I forgave him was that I could see that he was hurting himself and was dying because of guilt for all the things that he did to me.”

“And from where Lee saw the things, she saw how you moved on in your life.”

“I didn’t. I can explain this to her, but she is not giving me any chance.”

“Can you blame her for that?” Sophia questioned. “Have you read the story of a boy who cried wolf? A liar will not be believed even when he speaks the truth.”

Theodore looked at her in guilt, “Please show me the way to win her heart. Please, Mom.”

“Stop lying then.”

“I’m not lying,” Theodore said quickly.

“You sure that you aren’t lying to anyone?” Sophia asked, raising her eyebrow, making him realize what Sophia meant to say. “This…. This is not you, Theo. You’re living a lie, lying about your identity to everyone. And in all this situation, do you think that Lee would believe that you’re telling her the truth while lying to everyone? Hmm!!”

“Think about it. And plan everything now in that way.” Sophia said and patted his shoulder before leaving from there.

Theodore took a deep breath and decided to follow Sophia’s suggestion. He would reveal who he was that too, in front of everyone!! He wasn’t going to give a damn about the part whether he would get killed or whatever…

He wanted to prove his love for his Lia, and if this was a way, then that was it.
