Chapter 35: Chapter 35
Noticing the frown on Damon’s face, Megan's curiosity was heightened. She walked from the end of the training hall to where Damon stood.
“What’s wrong?” She asked him as he kept his eyes on Belinda.
“You know what is wrong. I hate it when you lie to me.” He answered coldly and walked away from her. He moved closer to where Belinda was fighting with another army, making them stop.
“I’ll fight with her alone.” Damon uttered with a straight face. The armies in the hall began to make their way out without uttering any words.
Belinda looked at Damon with furrowed brows. She knew something was up with him, and she was scared he was going to be too serious with their fight.
“Prince Damon, are you okay?” She worriedly asked, moving closer to him.
Damon heaved a loud sigh and turned to look at Megan, who stared at them from the door.
“What did I do wrong?” She further asked. Damon clenched his jaws and stormed towards her. “You almost made me look like a fool in front of Isla. You said Yolanda knew nothing about it. Why did you lie? You overheard their conversation, didn’t you?”
Megan exhaled softly and lowered her head. “I’m sorry, okay? I was scared you were going to do something to hurt them. I can’t let you hurt Yolanda. She’s suffering the consequences already.”
“But that doesn’t change the fact that she knew about it. What if Belinda was dead before we could rescue her? If we had to punish them severely, Yolanda wouldn’t be exempted.” Damon answered angrily.
“I’m sorry, okay? I even told her we can’t be together anymore. Just to make her know how mad I am at her.” Megan answered sadly.
Hearing this made Damon calm down. He became worried about her. He knew how much in love she was with Yolanda, and that decision must have hurt not only Yolanda, but also Megan.
“And how are you?”
“It’s not easy, Damon. She’s regretting her actions already. I told her that until Belinda forgave her, we wouldn’t get back together. And I don’t think she had been given the chance to talk to her. I’m sorry, okay?”
Damon exhaled loudly and turned to look at Belinda who was staring at them speechlessly.
“Am I supposed to say something?” Belinda asked after watching them stare at her for a few minutes.
“If you don’t sincerely forgive Yolanda, then we wouldn’t be together. I myself finds it hard to forgive her for what she did.” Megan uttered.
“I don’t have issues with Yolanda, Princess Megan. I understand she acted out of anger. You gave me more attention than her and it made her jealous.”
“So you forgive her?” Megan further asked.
“Yes. I never held any grudges against her. It’s not her fault. Maisie, Maeve, and Alpha Cephas are to blame. And I’ll make them pay.” Belinda answered, tightening her fists.
“Hmmm.” Damon smirked, walking closer to her. ‘I am in love with this confidence.’ He thought.
Getting in front of her, he brushed her hair with his palm. “And how are you going to make them pay?” He asked teasingly.
“I’m going to kill all of them.” She uttered within gritted teeth.
Suddenly, Damon grabbed the sword in Belinda’s hand by the grip and pulled it away from her. It was too sudden that it made Belinda flinch.
“If you’re going to kill them, the first thing you are going to do is be alert.” Damon uttered.
Belinda clenched her jaws as she felt anger rise in her. She ran to the scabbard and pulled out another sword.
“Let’s go again.” She muttered, giving him a stern look.
Damon raised his brows and nodded. He moved his leg backward, preparing to stand ready, but Belinda didn’t give him a chance to do that.
She rushed towards him, swaying her sword right towards him. Damon, who was also at alert, blocked the coming sword with his.
“Wow. You almost got me.” He responded with a smirk, pressing his sword against hers very hard that it made her lose balance, and she began to move backward.
Not relenting, Damon kept pushing her back with his sword, with all the strength he could gather, until she hit her back on the pillar, making her sword fall from her hand.
With a proud grin, he said. “Why can’t you beat me the same way you beat those armies?” His voice was low and tender.
Belinda lifted her eyes and glared at him. “Why don’t we try again to find out.” She muttered angrily, trying to move forward.
Damon hastily moved his sword away from her neck so it would not cut her. He threw the sword on the floor and grabbed her by the neck, pinning her against the pillar again.
“I don’t want to fight you. I want something else.” He murmured, staring at her lips. He lifted his eyes to meet her doe eyes, and he slightly bit his lower lip.
“Let’s get out of here.”
His face was so close to hers that the breath that came out of his mouth brushed the top of her lips.
Belinda melted under his breath and succumbed to him immediately, forgetting the hunger she had to defeat him. It was shocking that she wanted him too.
“Someone can see you two, guys. Let’s get out of here.” Megan uttered from the door, making Damon smile. Before moving away, he stuck out his tongue and licked her lips like he licked an ice cream.
He was obsessed with the new Belinda, and this arose his sexual desire.
Belinda’s hungry gaze was locked with his when she stuck out her tongue too and licked the exact place he wiped with his tongue.
Megan rolled her eyes and shook her head in disbelief. “Can you two please go to your room to do this? I can’t be your bodyguard forever!”
Seeing them that way made her remember and miss Yolanda so much, and since Belinda had forgiven her, she needed to see her again.
Damon grabbed Belinda by the wrist and began to pull her to the door, and all of a sudden, she took an abrupt halt.
“We are still keeping our relationship a secret, remember? Go to your chamber, and I’ll meet you there.”
Damon raised his eyebrows feeling impressed by the way she spoke. It was like she was his boss and he wasn’t complaining. He loved it.
“See you soon.”
Caressing the back of her hand, he let go of her and walked out of the training hall, leaving the ladies behind.
Belinda looked at Megan and caught her staring at her strangely. “Princess Megan, what do you have going on in your mind?” Belinda’s curiosity set in.
“Many things, Belinda.” Megan responded as both of them also headed out. “You have changed so much in hours. It’s not even up to a day.” Megan added.
“You make it sound like a bad thing.” Belinda responded.
“No, Belinda. It’s not a bad thing! You would never know the real you until your wolf is active in you, just like yours have been these past couple of hours. But I’m scared…”
“Why?” Belinda asked out of concern.
“I’m scared that a time will come where I will feel like I don’t know you anymore. I don’t want that sweet and kind Belinda to go away. I still want her with us.” Megan uttered sadly.
“Princess Megan, I’m still that sweet Belinda you have always known. I just need to be more courageous and tough because I have people I need to deal with. This place is my home and will forever be my home, and I’ll never forget my own people. My wolf is angry and ready to fight, and that is why I’m like this. I’m sorry, Princess Megan.” Belinda muttered sadly.
“No, Belinda. No. Don’t apologize for being who you are. This is who you are, and you should have known earlier, but the gods understand why it is like this. Just don’t be so hard on yourself. I know you want revenge, and you’ll get it, but please take it slow. You’re yet to control how your wolf makes you feel. If you aren’t careful, those that shouldn’t suffer would suffer too, considering the kind of wolf you are.”
Belinda nodded as she paid rapt attention to Megan’s teachings. She also didn’t want to be wicked and evil like the history books said, but she could hardly control the rage she felt in her.
She couldn’t ignore the anger to kill Alpha Cephas and everyone else that had made her life miserable. And she feared if she couldn’t control it, she’d harm the innocent ones too because she'd be too blinded by rage.
“I am scared, Princess Megan. I’m scared that I won’t be able to control this rage. If I come in contact with Alpha Cephas now, I bet no one would be able to stop me from getting into a fight with him, and I wouldn’t relent until he’s dead.”
“This is your wolf speaking, Belinda. Now you see the reason why I’m scared. Once you’re angry, you don’t care about what others think at that moment. You need to find someone that can pull you back to order before you’re far gone…” Megan was still talking to Belinda, when Yolanda appeared in front of them.
Megan stopped speaking and they both gazed at each other.
“You two should talk, Princess Megan. I’ll leave now.” Belinda whispered in Megan’s ear. She began to walk away from Megan, when Yolanda hurriedly blocked her way.
Belinda looked at her, wondering why she was in her way.
“I’m sorry, Belinda.” Yolanda uttered, bowing her head. “I’m sorry that I put you in harm's way. I regret ever doing that to you. I was driven by different feelings that don't matter right now. Please forgive me. It would never happen again. I don’t want to be your enemy.”
Megan watched what happened from behind and tears heated her eyes. Seeing Yolanda do the right thing made her so proud of her, and it kind of made her emotional. She knew Yolanda was going to do anything to get back with her.
Belinda’s face lit up with a smile and she shook her head. “I have nothing against you, Yolanda. I had forgiven you even before you approached me. Don’t worry about that anymore.” Belinda answered.
Yolanda raised her head and that was when they realized that she was crying already. “Thank you so much, Belinda.”
She hurriedly walked past Belinda to where Megan stood, sobbing softly. “Megan, I did it. I have apologized to her and she has forgiven me. Can we please be together again? I love you so much and I can’t live without you. I will die…”
Without any hesitation, Megan grabbed her face in her hands and covered her mouth with hers. Yolanda pulled her in by the waist and deepened the kiss, wanting to taste every part of her mouth.
After a few seconds, they broke the kiss and embraced each other tightly, as they both sobbed.
“I love you so much, Megan. I can’t live without you. I’d rather be dead than be alive to see you hate me.” Yolanda mumbled in tears.
“And I can never hate you, Yolanda. I’ll always love you. I’m sorry.” Megan also mumbled her response, and they both kept weeping, finding comfort at the same time in their arms.
