Chapter 26: Chapter 26

Belinda stood on top of the tower, watching the boundaries. It wasn’t her turn but she was going to do it anyway. She was worried about the Prince going out to hunt.

They didn’t get the chance to talk throughout the day, so she heard it from Megan, and since then she had been worried.

She couldn’t stop guessing that Alpha Cephas could try to get at him, and maybe even other wolves because it was the full moon.

She cared less about her first transformation, because she was scared for the Prince. She kept watching the boundaries, keeping her eyes out for anything strange so she could raise an alarm.

It was some minutes past midnight when all of a sudden, her heart began to beat very fast. “Prince Damon.” She called.

She grabbed her chest as it was as if lightning struck her, right in the heart. She began to fidget as she could perceive something was wrong.

She could feel the prince was under attack. She got confused and didn’t know what to do. Hot tears streamed down her cheeks as she ran down the tower.

She needed to raise an alarm, she wanted to raise an alarm. She was running to the palace to alert anyone that could help when all of a sudden, someone grabbed her by the hand and pulled her to the corner.

She wanted to shout, but the person had covered her mouth with his hand.

“Shhh. It’s me… Damon.” He whispered in her ears, panting, before letting her go. She hurriedly turned to look at him and her jaw dropped.

“Is that your blood?” She asked in terror as she stared at Prince Damon, who was covered in blood.

“Most of it… Yes.” He managed to say.

“I knew it. I knew something was going to go wrong. I could feel it. I should have stopped you.” Belinda covered her mouth and broke into tears.

“Belinda, it’s not your fault. I’ll be okay if we get to sneak into the palace as soon as possible. Father, cannot know about this. Not tonight.”

Belinda bounced her head and cleaned her eyes. “How do we sneak in? I have no idea.”

“Through the back door. Just follow me.” Damon answered, still panting. He was losing blood.

They both headed to the back door and successfully snuck into his chamber since it was late and everyone seemed to be asleep.

Belinda made him sit on the floor so as not to stain the bed or couch with his blood. She rushed out to get the first aid kit so as to stop his blood.

She returned and met him where she had left him. He was beginning to feel dizzy, and his eyes could hardly stay open.

“What happened? How were you attacked when Ayman was with you? Isn’t he the most experienced guard? How could he let this happen?” She asked in tears.

Belinda got rid of his clothes and cleaned his body with a wet towel so that she could get where exactly he was bleeding from.

“Don’t blame him, Belinda. I should have returned after we finished hunting, but I wanted to run so badly under the full moon. And so I convinced Ayman that we should go on a run. We both took off but ended up taking different routes, and that was when I was attacked. Before Ayman could get to me, I was already weak.”

“Oh my… do you know the wolf that attacked you?” Belinda asked as she began to treat his wounds. He had about three cuts on his chest, two on both arms and one on his thighs.

One of the wounds on his chest was pretty deep. Belinda couldn’t control her tears, seeing him in such a situation.

“The wolf that attacked me was pretty strong, he was no doubt an Alpha. When I looked in his eyes, I could see anger and hatred. He had another wolf, this wolf looked like the same one that attacked us the last time. He was too strong for only me.”

‘Alpha Cephas?! That Alpha is Cephas!’ Her inner mind said to her.

“Ayman managed to scare them off with my help, I had to gather the last strength in me.

‘It’s all my fault.’ Belinda fell to the floor weakly.

“It’s all my fault, Prince Damon. King Talos was right after all. All these things are happening because of me! That Alpha that attacked you is Alpha Cephas! The man I escaped from.” She mumbled.

Damon shook his head and reached for her hand. “You can’t be so sure, Belinda. It could have been any Alpha.”

“No! You haven’t had any problems with any Alpha. He is the one. This is all my fault.” Belinda lowered her head and kept crying.

“But I don’t blame you, okay? Maybe he was able to sense that we are together now, and that was what drew his attention to me, or the other wolf led him to me, but I don’t blame you, okay?”

“I know, but I blame myself. If he had killed me, then…”

“We would have never met. He would have killed my mate.” Damon cut in.

“At least you’d be safe! You’ll keep getting hurt because of me. Alpha Cephas doesn’t quit. Being around me is dangerous and…”

“Belinda! I am not leaving your side because of these threats, okay? They don’t scare me. I love you, and I am not letting you go. If you leave me, then I’ll never be fine. These wounds will heal, but if you break my heart, I’ll never heal from it. Don’t leave me, Belinda.”

Belinda whimpered and held Damon in her arms. “I won’t. I promise.” She answered.

“We’ll fight this together. We are stronger together. I’ll stop leaving the boundaries if that is what it takes.” Damon muttered, and Belinda bobbed.

“And I’ll be here too. I promise. I’m sorry, Prince Damon. I’m sorry for causing you so much trouble.”

After minutes of crying, Damon fell asleep. Belinda who had been looking at him as he slept felt sleepy too, and it was time to leave his chamber.

She couldn’t risk the king barging into his chamber in the morning when he hears the news and seeing her lying next to his son on the bed.

She kissed him goodnight and sneaked out of his chamber. There were no guards watching because it was the full moon so it was pretty easy for her to do that.

She got to the corridor that led to her chamber and began to approach it weakly. She felt so tired and sad at the same time.

She got to her door, and when she was about to open it, she was grabbed from behind. She jolted in fear and before she could scream, her mouth was blocked with a piece of clothing.

The arms around her were pretty strong, and she could hardly see the person’s face. She kept struggling until she began to feel sleepy.

Her eyes finally closed and she fell unconscious.

Belinda groaned as she slightly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry and she could only see faint light. She closed her eyes and opened them again to have a clearer view.

Her vision got clearer and she could see her feet. She was barefoot. She creased her brows and looked up and she realized she wasn’t wearing any dress either.

She was naked and tied up. In panic, she lifted her head and looked around. She was in a nightmare. She was back at Alpha Cephas’ territory.

“Finally… the witch is awake.” She heard a feminine voice, and she saw Miss Maisie approach her.

“Miss Maisie?” Belinda muttered in awe.

“Yes, it’s me. I know I shouldn’t ask how you’re feeling because I know you aren’t feeling good.” Maisie answered with a smirk.

“Why are you doing this? Why did you bring me here?!” Belinda yelled in tears.

Maisie broke into laughter and shook her head. “Pathetic!” She spat.

“Where do I start my wonderful story from?” She mumbled and placed her fingers under her jaw as she began to think.

“Yes! Let’s start from King’s Talos’ birthday party. I was with my fiancée and he couldn’t stop staring at you. I wondered why, and then I saw you two together on the field! He was smiling so sweetly at you… do you know he never did that to me? And then, I found out you’re that evil woman with such an innocent face.”

Belinda shook her head and lowered her head. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” She yelled.

Maisie moved closer to her and hit her very hard in the face. “Don’t you dare yell at me!” Maisie murmured.

Belinda’s cheek began to ache seriously, but she cared less about it. Her mind was on the Prince.

‘I promised him I would be by his side, but I’m here. Alpha Cephas is going to kill me and I’ll never see him again.’

“I realized that you had eyes on my fiancée and wanted to snatch me from him. I decided to tell my knowledgeable sister about you and I was shocked at her response. You are the slave they have been looking for! What were you thinking? That you can go somewhere else and pretend like you’re not just a slave? You want to look for all means to be associated with royalty, don’t you?”

Belinda lifted her head and stared at Maisie in awe. ‘She is Luna Maeve’s sister? How did I not see this? They have the same evil eyes.’

“Maisie!” Alpha Cephas called her, and they both looked at him as he approached them with Maeve at his side.

“I brought you a present.” Maisie replied with a smirk.

Alpha Cephas moved closer to Belinda and stared at her with mixed feelings written all over him.

‘She looks more beautiful and has gained more weight. She doesn’t look pregnant either, did she lose the baby?’

“I told you I had a surprise for you, didn’t I? Well, here is the surprise.” Maeve proudly said to him, interrupting his thoughts.

Maeve went ahead to bring out a knife and gave it to Alpha Cephas. “Now, you can get what you have always wanted. Kill her.” She said with a smirk.

Alpha Cephas stared at the knife and then back at Belinda, who was covered in fear as she watched them.

Alpha Cephas took the knife from Maeve, and Maeve chuckled and looked at Maisie.

“You’ve got your fiancée to yourself now.”
