Chapter 69: Chapter 69

"GOOD afternoon, Mrs. Henry," Thalia greeted me when I went to Gideon's office that afternoon.

Gideon and I had been back in LA for three months now.

Darwin was in Russia to supervise their new business there so Gideon was forced to go back to LA. It was fine with me. Way back in New York, I was already thinking of taking a break from work to focus on the wedding preparations.

The other day, Amelia talked to me. She planned a birthday surprise for Gideon.

Today is Gideon's birthday! Gideon didn't know about it because of his amnesia.

I've already informed everyone in the office not to greet their boss. We wanted to surprise him later.

"Don't forget later, Thalia," I told her before I walked past her table.

She smiled and gave me a thumbs-up.

"Bianca?"

Gideon's eyes widened when he saw me. I smiled as I walked to his table.

"Hi, are you done with your work?" I asked, glancing at the laptop on his table.

"Yeah. I'm just reviewing these reports for tomorrow."

He planted a soft kiss on my cheek before he pulled me to sit on his lips. I pursed my lips.

I still wasn't used to my husband being this clingy.

"Hmm, what are you doing here, wife?" he asked, his minty breath caressing my neck. "I thought you had a dinner meeting with the wedding planner?"

I slightly craned my neck to see his face. "Well, she canceled so… I decided to go here instead."

He raised his brow. "What? You already missed me?"

I chuckled as I raised my own brow at him. "Feeling so cocky, Mr. Henry?"

His laugh filled my ear as he burrowed his face into my shoulder. "Hmm, I missed you." His arms on my waist tightened their hold. "Thanks for coming here."

I bit my lower lip to stifle a smile. Damn. He never failed to send butterflies in my stomach every day.

"I missed you, too," I whispered softly.

"Are you sure you don't want to eat dinner yet?" Gideon asked me after buying tickets at the movie house.

I asked him to watch movies after leaving the office.

After this, we'd go home to the Henry Mansion where Amelia's surprise was waiting.

"Nah. Let's just eat popcorn." I pursed my lips, raising the bucket of popcorn I already bought.

"You were jealous that night…" Gideon said in the middle of the movie. The movie had already been showing for a month so there were only a few people in the cinema.

"Huh?" I turned to him.

"That night when we went here to watch Thor, you're jealous of the woman sitting beside me."

I cleared my throat. "Well… she was obviously flirting with you."

"I wasn't. My eyes were only on you."

I bit my lower lip. My cheeks flushed. "Just eat, Gideon." I picked up some popcorn and tried to put it on his lips.

Gideon raised his brow and then licked his lips. But my eyes widened when he held my wrist, pulled me closer to him, and captured my lips in a kiss.

My eyes fluttered when I felt his lips suck mine before his tongue entered inside.

I was melting under him. I dropped the bucket of popcorn in his lap before my hands automatically went to his nape.

"You taste so good, sweetheart," Gideon muttered in between his kisses. His lips went to my ears and then to my neck. He showered kisses on my neck before he stopped.

I opened my mouth to protest but it dawned on me that we were still in the movie house.

Instead, I licked my lips and shifted in my seat.

"We're watching a movie, Gideon!" I said when I finally recovered from what he did. Or what we did. My cheeks flushed when I looked around. No one seemed to notice us.

"Are you?" He playfully said, licking his lips. From the faint light surrounding us, I could see how red his lips were from our kissing.

"You weren't even paying attention to the movie."

I cleared my throat and looked at the scattered popcorn on his lap. "You're a naughty husband."

He chuckled near my ear. "Can't help it. I have a beautiful hot wife."

We managed to behave until we finished the movie.

"Come on, Gideon. Amelia invited us for dinner at your mansion," I told him after we got out of the movie house.

"We can just eat here."

I pursed my lips. "Come on, Gideon. Amelia's alone in your house. Let's join her for dinner!"

Thirty minutes later, we arrived at their mansion in Huntington.

"I thought Mom was alone, whose car are these?" Gideon asked when he noticed the unfamiliar cars parked in the parking space.

"I don't know," I shrugged, playing it cool. "Come on." I held his hand.

The moment the double doors opened, Pluto ran towards us. Then Amelia followed while holding a chocolate cake.

I turned to Gideon after carrying Pluto. His brows furrowed while looking at his mother.

"Why are you holding a cake?" Gideon asked. "Are we celebrating something?"

Gideon looked at me, confused. "Bianca?"

I slowly smiled. "Yeah. We're celebrating something, right, Pluto?" I tickled our dog before I looked back at Gideon.

Gideon's brows raised. "Is it Pluto's birthday or something?"

We heard Amelia chuckle. "It's your birthday, son."

I pursed my lips when I saw how Gideon's lips parted. "It's my birthday?" He stared at Amelia and then to me.

"It's June 25th son. Today's your birthday."

I chuckled. "Happy birthday, sweetheart. Blow your candle now."

Gideon blew his candle. "Thanks, Mom."

Then he turned to me and kissed me in front of Amelia.

"Gideon, I'm carrying Pluto with me," I murmured when he tried to deepen the kiss. He gave me one long kiss before he let go of me.

"Sorry, baby," he said to Pluto when he took him from me. "I just love kissing your Mommy."

"Come on now inside, your employees are waiting for you."

Gideon blinked. "They're here?"

I pursed my lips. "Yeah. That's why no one greeted you at the office."

"You planned this?"

Amelia wanted a big party, but I insisted on an intimate one.

"Happy birthday, Sir Gideon!" Gideon was greeted by those people who directly work under him, led by his secretary Thalia and his former driver, Denver.

They also have their own cake for Gideon.

"Thank you for coming, everyone," Gideon thanked all of them before he blew the cake Denver was holding.

"What did you wish for?" I playfully asked Gideon when he went to me.

We were in the corner of the room while everyone was now busy with food.

Pluto was already with Amelia. The old woman was talking to Gideon's secretary.

"I didn't wish for anything," Gideon answered.

"Really? Why?"

He smiled at me softly. "What would I still wish for if I already have you?"

I pursed my lips. Damn. "My gift's waiting for you at home."

"You're the best birthday gift, sweetheart." His eyes lingered on my face before his lips descended to mine. "Hmm, can we ditch this and just go to my room?" he whispered against my neck. "I just wanted to kiss you all night?"

I raised my eyebrows. "Just kiss?"

He chuckled. "You know what else I wanted to do with you, sweetheart."

We were interrupted by Amelia who just announced that someone had arrived.

"Is it Dad?" Gideon asked.

"No, Gideon. It's your brother." Amelia smiled.

"Gideon…"

I stilled when I heard a familiar voice. Behind Amelia… was Charlie. The last time we saw him… he was too mad with me. With Gideon and I.

I didn't expect that he would show himself. And he looked fine. His face was calm. Very different from the last time I saw him.

"Happy birthday, dear brother," Charlie greeted Gideon. There was a small smile on his face.

Just like me, Gideon didn't expect Charlie's presence. But he easily recovered.

"Thank you, Charlie."

"By the way, I brought a gift for you. I'm sure you'll be happy to see her."

My brows furrowed. Gift?

My lips parted when I saw a woman enter the room. I watched her as she slowly walked towards us.

She was small… but very beautiful. She looked like an angel with her white sheer dress. Her olive-colored eyes lightened up when they focused on the man beside me.

Who was she?

I looked at Gideon who was as confused as me.

"Oh, my God! Is that…"

I turned to Amelia who looked like she had just seen a ghost.

"... Diana?"

Diana? Gideon's first love? But… she's dead, right?
