Chapter 64: Chapter 64
"I'M sorry, Miss. Have we met before? I don't think… I know you."
I witnessed how the woman's mouth formed an O with Gideon's question.
"I see… you never recovered your memory," the woman, who I remembered, whose name is Kylie, cleared her throat. "We met in Paris, before you lose your memory. But we also met after your accident. I introduced myself to you when I saw you at Il Fornaio, remember? I even gave you my calling card."
She was wearing a red summer dress and a wide-brimmed hat.
"Oh…" Gideon slowly nodded. "Yeah. I think I remember. Is your name Kelly or Kyla?"
"It's Kylie," she smiled. "What are you doing here?" The woman turned to me. Then she looked back to Gideon. "I heard you were already divorced from your wife."
My lips parted. How could she say that when I'm right here in front of her?
"We're here for our honeymoon."
The woman blinked. "H-honeymoon?"
I was about to answer, but Gideon beat me to it. "Bianca agreed to marry me again."
I couldn't help but smirk when I saw the shock on the woman's face.
"You heard Gideon. Yeah, we got divorced. But now we've married again." I said, flashing her my left hand. "Now, excuse us. My husband and I are about to have lunch."
"And Miss…" Gideon cleared. "Whatever we had in the past, I hoped you could move on from that. I'm happily married now to my wife."
"That bitch…" I whispered annoyingly when Gideon and I settled on our table. My eyes continued to follow the woman who just headed to the exit of the restaurant.
"Sweetheart."
I felt Gideon's hand on mine. When I cocked my head at him, I found him with an amused smile on his face.
"What?" I asked, raising my brow.
He pursed his lips, a small smile was still visible on that handsome face. "You're jealous."
I rolled my eyes at him. "Who wouldn't? That woman was trying to flirt with you, right in front of me. The nerve."
I looked at him. I completely understand why women were flocking over him. He's a complete package. His looks, his status, his aura.
And with the slight changes in his looks now, he's even become ten times hotter. I never imagined that a man bun would look perfect on him.
"I didn't flirt back."
I gave him a glare. "Of course. Because the moment you did, I swear we're done, Gideon."
Gideon caressed the knuckles of my hand while his eyes were on me. His eyes looked straight into my soul.
"I wouldn't dare look at another woman when I already have you, Bianca," he muttered. "I didn't know if I ever kissed other lips in our past marriage, but I promised you now… yours are the only one I would like to kiss for the rest of our lives."
I felt butterflies invade my stomach. I pursed my lips and stifled a smile. He really knows… He really knows how to get my heart.
"I believe you… Gideon," I said, meeting his stares. "I just couldn't help it…" I lightly shook my head. "Damn. I never thought I'd be a jealous wife." I wasn't even a jealous girlfriend to my past boyfriends before. "It's your fault," I continued to purse my lips.
"Why do you have to be so gorgeous?"
"You think I'm gorgeous?" he asked, his lips curving in a wide smile.
"Of course! That's why women are flocking over you." I rolled my eyes. "Asked any woman, and they said you're gorgeous in a heartbeat."
"I don't care about others' opinions, Bianca. I only want yours."
This time, I couldn't stop my lips from stretching into a smile. I didn't comment. Gideon continued.
"I remember how you were rude to Penny." Gideon chuckled as he reached for his glass of water. "That's the moment that it occurred to me that maybe… you were already feeling something for me."
I felt my cheeks heat up when I remembered my encounter with that interior designer.
I cleared my throat. "How was she, by the way? I remembered the designs she made for your house. They were good… it was just a shame that it didn't happen."
Gideon gave me an amused look. "Sweetheart, I pushed through with the renovation."
I stopped eating and turned to Gideon. "You pushed through…?"
"Yeah. While I was away, I asked Penny to push through the renovation," Gideon smiled. "I also let her team handle the renovation of the house in Napa Valley."
I blinked. Wow. I didn't know any of those. "Amelia never mentioned that to me."
Gideon twisted his lips. "Oh. I told Mom to keep it away from you."
I raised my brow. "You wanted to surprise me?"
He shook his head. "No. I asked her not to tell you… I don't want you to feel guilty, just in case you didn't want me back… or you'd already found someone else."
I couldn't help but chuckle. "Really, you'd think I'd found someone else? After I made that promise to you?"
"A man can be insecure, can't he? I've been away for too long."
"Yeah. Six months is already long…" My eyes fluttered at him. "But I can wait longer for you. I didn't even give slight attention to any other man."
I noticed his ears turned red. Was he blushing? I couldn't help but grin.
"Are you blushing, husband?"
Gideon didn't answer me, instead, he cleared his throat. "Back to our house in Pasadena, we'll stay there wherever we go to LA."
I blinked. "Wait. What do you mean? We won't go back to LA?"
Gideon smiled at me. "We will stay in New York, Bianca. I know you wanted it there. And I'll be with you anywhere you want."
I felt something warm touch my heart. Gideon and I haven't talked about this since he came back. But I was willing to leave my job and go back with him to LA.
"What about your work?" I asked. "Your parents… what would they say?"
"I'm sure they'll understand, Bianca," he assured me. "I can work here in New York. We have our office. You and the family that I'm going to build with you are my priority now."
I felt the corner of my eyes heat up. "Just so you know…" I said, pursing my lips. "I'm okay with anywhere, too. As long as I'm with you."
Gideon reached for my hand, but before he could bring it to his lips, his face contorted in pain.
"Gideon!"
