Chapter 81: Chapter 81
"Good, tell me what I want to know, and I might consider letting you go."
Du You approached them calmly. But just then, the man in black began to fade, even disappearing right under Du You’s gaze.
"Invisibility Ability, damn it, don’t think about escaping." Du You’s eyes narrowed, and he instantly fired a Disintegration Spell.
But the Disintegration Spell didn’t hit its target, instead passing directly through where the man had stood, hitting a stone behind. Instantly, the large stone turned into countless fragments scattered around.
The creepy man knelt on the ground, curling up even more, trembling incessantly. It was this same spell that had killed his comrade, whose ghastly body still lay next to them.
"Find him, don’t let him escape." Du You’s eyes narrowed.
These guys had witnessed him using magic. Who knows what might be revealed? Although it was insignificant if revealed later on, it was not suitable now. Du You felt his current strength was far from adequate.
Once he has more gear and a higher level, even if his magic abilities were revealed, others would simply think he learned them as extra skills different from his own.
In fact, this approach is quite common. Some skills don’t belong to one’s profession, but they have unusual effects. Even if they can’t unleash their full power, learning them can be of great help, thus many people learn skills outside their profession.
Those who can handle all situations relying solely on their professional skills are extremely rare.
"Damn it, I didn’t expect to encounter someone with invisibility."
Suddenly, Du You’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the ground: "It seems I forgot, simple invisibility can’t fully hide a person’s trace. It’s something that one can’t do at our current level."
Du You finally realized some differences. That person was invisible, but his scent was not hidden. His Brown Bear might not have a tracking talent, but it did have the ability to track.
Also, when the person was running in the Dense Forest, he must have encountered branches and bushes, which would immediately reveal his location. Du You had a thought and told Xiaozi to search for such spots from the air.
Xiaozi had already discovered the direction the man was heading. In the empty bush, something stepped down. Du You shouted, "Xiaozi, take him down."
At Du You’s command, Xiaozi swooped down from the sky. The man who was trying to escape invisibly was terrified, giving away his position with a terrified scream, and was immediately caught by Xiaozi.
This time, because the man was invisible, Xiaozi did not attack his head, but shattered his shoulder with one swipe. The man in black retaliated, drawing a knife across Xiaozi’s body causing a shallow wound. Seeing Xiaozi hurt made Du You even more furious.
Ever since Xiaozi became his summon creature, this was the first time she had been injured.
Likewise, the injured Xiaozi became furious. She did not loosen her grip on his shoulder. Instead, she sent a strong electric current directly into his body.
After an extremely horrible scream, the man in black ended up charred to a crisp.
"Finally took care of him. Can you tell me who that man was?" Du You turned to the man still kneeling on the ground.
The sketchy middle-aged man, trembling and careful, replied: "That person was a thief we found temporarily, who can help us get all kinds of information. He was the one who ... who told us about you."
So that’s it! No wonder he tried to escape even knowing he probably couldn’t. He must have been the one who provided information about his arrival, leading these people to ambush him. This guy was the ringleader.
Killing intent flashed in Du You’s eyes. This last man also had to be dealt with.
But first, he needed to ask some questions. "What were all of you doing here? Seems like not many people pass by. Even if you wanted to rob, this is not the right place."
"Of course, of course we didn’t come here to rob. Actually, we... we were actually here to hunt for the Titan Python."
Du You was taken aback, "Titan Python?" He knew it was the biggest species of python from the legends, living in the same era as the dinosaurs. Right, this was the Dinosaur World so having a Titan Python wasn’t strange. Check latest chapters at 𝚗𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚕·𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚎·𝚗𝚎𝚝
"What were you looking for the Titan Python for? Does that thing have any specialties?"
Du You’s voice grew cold: "Don’t even think about deceiving me, I have plenty of ways to kill you."
The man’s face turned incredibly pale, but he still forced a smile and said: "The Titan Python ... its gallbladder is a valuable item. The buying price outside ... outside is a thousand Crystal Coins each."
"A thousand Crystal Coins? Why so high? What use does this gallbladder have?"
The man, not daring to withhold anything, quickly revealed everything. Apparently, it was no secret, but the Titan Python was just hard to find.
Turns out, the gallbladder of the Titan Python can be used to concoct a special strength elixir. After consumption, your strength could greatly increase for one day. For Awakeners, this was of high value. Hence the gallbladder was sold at quite a high price.
Unfortunately, the gallbladder can only be obtained by killing the Titan Python. It wouldn’t have the same effect if it was surgically removed and taken away.
Since the Titan Python was hard to find and killing it to obtain the gallbladder was even more difficult, they had gathered here when they found traces of it. They were worried that Du You was here for the same reason hence, they wanted to kill him to protect their secret. They didn’t expect Du You’s strength to be this terrifying, however.
Because Du You was alone, they had let their guard down. They were ambushed by Du You and almost half of them died immediately. The remaining ones were no match at all. If not for this, Du You didn’t think he would win against them all outright.
"Good, I’m interested in what you’ve said." Du You replied calmly, and the man also wore a hopeful smile. "But after thinking, I’ve decided to nip the problem in the bud."
