Chapter 79: Chapter 79
Killing a group of Raptors and these Dromaeosaurus, along with a few smaller dinosaurs he stumbled upon along the way, Du You found that he had amassed over fifty Crystal Coins. This place certainly was a treasure trove.
Of course, this was courtesy of Du You’s ability to fend for himself.
Other single individuals would undoubtedly face danger. And when teaming up, the income would be reduced.
If it was a team of five people, taking down the same number of dinosaurs to earn five Crystal Coins would be impressive. Divide that evenly, each person would only get one coin. Such was the income disparity.
This disparity further solidified Du You’s resolve to act alone. He quickly maxed out his current level skills. Each level 2 skill required twenty Crystal Coins to maximize.
So altogether, he had to utilize sixty coins, almost depleting his remaining Crystal Coins.
He also needed forty Crystal Coins to level up his two professions. Every level up required ten more coins than the last. As his star level increased, naturally the cost for strengthening also increased.
It looks like he needs to continue hunting before he can level up to level three.
"No, no, I shouldn’t upgrade to level three. As the level gets higher, the tasks will get more complicated. I need to lay a solid foundation first. Save the Crystal Coins, morph an appropriate Spell before I decide. It’s a shame the Dark Element Stones are hard to find, otherwise, I would be able to create more pets."
Du You was a Dark Shaper who would need Dark Element Stones to create pets. He could learn other summoning-type skills, but without the boost from his profession, the effectiveness would be severely lacking.
He only had limited skill slots. Du You couldn’t waste them. "I’ll just have to check out the Dark Element Stones later. If I can buy them, I’ll try to buy some." Du You was somewhat frustrated.
Shaking his head, Du You continued heading north. Unlike others who were after dinosaur eggs and therefore moving rapidly, Du You’s journey was slow because he hunted dinosaurs along the way. Even though Du You was the first to depart, others were still slowly catching up to him.
Just as he had killed something that looked like an Amethyst Dragon, Du You heard rustling nearby.
"Who’s there?" Du You narrowed his eyes. If there were dinosaurs, Xiaozi would have warned him.
As expected, three humans slowly emerged from the grass. Judging by their appearances, they had been hiding there for quite some time.
A thin man by their side was about to speak when the person in front glared at him. Then, the man in front who appeared to be the leader cautiously said: "Sorry, we were here to hunt a few small dinosaurs. We did not expect someone to come by. It seems we cannot kill any dinosaurs here. We will find another spot." Thıs text ıs hosted at 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭⚑𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮⚑𝕟𝕖𝕥
After finishing, the man led the remaining two in a steady retreat, distancing themselves from Du You. Once further away, they turned and left.
"What’s with them? Do I seem that dangerous?" Du You touched his face in confusion.
On the other side, the three men quickly moved on. The thin man finally had a chance to speak up, "Boss, why didn’t we rob him? His sword looked good. He must be wealthy."
"Exactly, before we set off, he rented two spatial bags. So, he must have at least two hundred Crystal Coins. If we robbed him, we would be rich." Another short man added.
"Idiots, all you can see is the money, not anything else. Have you ever thought about why despite my lousy talent, I still managed to thrive and survive for so long? You two, thank goodness for our mother, otherwise, I would have killed you both already."
"Boss, what happened? Do you know the guy?"
The leader interjected impatiently, "Know him? No, I don’t. But think about it, he’s so wealthy, and even dared to rent two spatial bags. Why is that? Because he’s confident. Plus, can you guess how strong a man who dares to brave the Dinosaur World alone is? You want to rob him? Are you asking for death?"
"He’s just a normal young man; he can’t be that powerful."
"You two blockheads, what can I say. What does strength have to do with age? Don’t the offspring of great powers have great strengths at young ages? You two needed to speak less, do less, listen more, and watch more."
"Let me tell you, didn’t you notice the details before? You saw the dead dinosaurs near him, right? The marks on the dinosaurs, the bloody massacre scene - all those were definitely caused by Magic."
"Why is it Magic?" inquired the thin man.
The boss answered impatiently, "Those wounds were so smooth, they could only be caused by a sword. But who has a sword that big? So it’s definitely Magic. Do we have such killing power? "
The two fell silent. If they were on the receiving end of such horrifying injuries, they wouldn’t survive either. Now they understood the danger of the target they had picked.
"Also, since his Magic is so strong, but he also had a bear with him. What does that tell you? The bear is a Skill he obtained from equipment. Do you think we are qualified to provoke someone equipped with such skills?"
"Boss is right. We should be more careful when we rob in the future."
"Rob my ass. If you want to survive, stop thinking about robbery. No robber ends well. How did I end up with two idiotic younger brothers?" the boss bemoaned. But all he could do was sigh. He couldn’t just abandon them, they’d lose their lives.
Unbeknownst to Du You, he had been considered as a strong opponent by others. After the trio left, he didn’t bother resting. Instead, he continued his journey north, riding Xiaozi. His slow pace meant it would take two to three days to reach the north.
Du You wasn’t in a hurry. The most important thing now was to hunt more dinosaurs.
"What, found a big lake with many Plesiosaurus and Terror Crocodiles and other things? This is an ecological chain. Let’s go check it out and seize the chance to kill more."
Hearing the information from Xiaozi, Du You packed up his brown bear and mounted Xiaozi, flying towards the lake.
Xiaozi, now a higher level, was bigger and flew faster and steadier. It was no longer a problem to fly for two hours while carrying Du You.
