Chapter 62: Chapter 62

Hazel,

"It is one of the most famous festivals for all underworld creatures where we worship our moon Goddess with sacrifices. It is a myth that the more you will sacrifice, the more you will gain power. But, it is just a myth though. So, in this festival, all underworld creatures participate and pray for the long life of their king."

"So, in a nutshell, all are going to pray for our enemy, Cyrus?" I asked in an annoyed tone.

Galaxy replied, "Yeah, we can say, but this is going to be his last blood moon festival."

Liam exclaimed from another side, "I am dying to see the silver city. It must be very beautiful."

"Of course you can enjoy the beauty of the city as much as you want when we will shift into the Silver City. We can appoint you as the night guard of our city. Then, you can enjoy the beauty while guarding us. What do you say Galaxy?" I asked teasingly. Galaxy replied mockingly, "Yes, my lady. That will be the best job for Liam." Galaxy and I both giggled out in loud laughter.

Running his fingers through his silky hair, Liam replied, "Alright. If Milady will order I will surely do that." Then, looking at Galaxy, he replied, "You don't have to be so happy Galaxy, I will drag you along with me."

We were gossiping when Granny entered and we all went for dinner. I shared my room with Galaxy when Liam slept in the drawing-room. At night after dinner, I tried to call Xander but surprisingly, the call didn't connect. I tried to call everyone but no phone connected. Even Galaxy and Liam tried but our all efforts went in vain. Mind links were also not working. So, I couldn't find any way to contact Xander. The night was sleepless. I couldn't able to sleep.

The next morning, I was equally worried though Galaxy and Liam both were trying their best to calm me down. Without finding any other choice I called Damien who was on his way to Vampire's castle. After reaching the castle, Xander ordered Damien to leave for Vampire's den to help Selene, because it was impossible for Selene to handle everything alone.

Picking up the phone, Damien asked worriedly, "My regards Luna. Is everything alright?"

"No. Nothing is alright, Damien. From yesterday, I am trying to contact the castle but nothing is working. I am really worried now," I explained anxiously. I added while walking in the drawing-room, "I don't know how Xander is or what everyone is doing there. Do you know anything?"

Damien explained worriedly, "Actually, Xander ordered me to follow Selene as soon as he entered the castle. But, I left only after checking everything. So, I don't think there was anything suspicious." Then after a little pause, Damien continued, "Do you want me to return to the castle? Then I can go and check. Just order what you want Luna."

I was paused for a few seconds. Then after a little pause, I replied, "No. you go and help Selene. That's important for us. I am returning to the castle with Liam and Galaxy."

"But, Hazel, Xander asked you to wait for him. Are you sure that you return to the castle without asking him? It will be better if I return to the castle instead of you," denied Damien.

But, I was determined. I decided what I wanted to do and none could change my mind. I was feeling something was not right. I was getting a bad vibe. My mind was understanding everyone's logic but my heart was trying to tell me that I was overlooking something very important.

I replied in a determined voice, "No need, Damien. You go. Selene needs you. I am returning with Liam and Galaxy."

After talking for a few more seconds we hung up the phone. Damien didn't try to convince me anymore and only asked me me to inform him as soon as possible.

Liam, Galaxy, and I packed our things and finished our lunch in Granny's house. Then, after wishing Granny goodbye, we left for the airport. It was a long way. It took almost a day to reach the Boreal forest. The moment, I reached there, I started feeling that something wrong thing happened there. I was feeling a strong evil power but I couldn't manage to trace it. So, without wasting any more time, I hastily headed towards the castle's direction.

But the view of the castle was not as expected, the huge gate of the castle was opened and there was no sign of guard, no sign of the top-notch security of the castle. Castle looked quiet, I didn't see a single guard around us. Liam asked in a surprised tone while taking a few steps ahead of me, "Where are all the guards? There is something wrong. Better I go first Milady, you two stay behind."

Galaxy agreed, "Right. There has something happened for sure." With worried faces, we all entered the castle. There was pin-drop silence, highlighting the fact that there was no alive person. Though my head already confirmed the fact my heart didn't dare to believe as it was impossible. Without wasting a single second, I ran inside the castle, towards Xander's room. But the moment I entered inside the hall, I fell on the ground with a loud thud sound as one of my leg stuck with something on the ground. Supporting on my hands, I managed to sit on the ground. Then while rubbing my bleeding elbow, I turned my head to see the thing.

The moment I saw it I gulped in fear. I saw a stiff body of Francesco, lying dead on the white marble ground of the floor. Thick blood dried on the floor. There was no sign of life on his numb and cold body. I started shaking him desperately while shouting his name again and again.

After a long one minute, I managed to calm myself down as scarier thoughts appeared in my mind. I immediately ran in the direction of the second floor. Tears were running down from my eyes. Tears of fear and losing someone special was started to rule my heart, making it with me. I was murmuring in my mind, "No no. Xander is alright. Nothing can happen to him." I reached Xander's bedroom within no time. The door of the room was half-opened. I pushed the door and entered the room as soon as possible.

I found that the room was empty and all the things and broken pieces of many furniture were scattered all over the floor. The bed was disordered but what scared me the most was the deep red stain of blood on the light blue bed sheet and some drops of dried blood on the marble of the floor. It was clear that something extremely bad happened with the owner of the room. But I still couldn't believe my eyes. I immediately checked the washroom while shouting Xander's name, loudly than the balcony, the garden, and all the guest rooms one by one. I was shouting his name insanely. I was begging if somehow by any chance I got a reply. But, even after searching for half an hour, I couldn't manage to find any trace of Xander except some dead bodies of guards. Bodies were already started to decompose. So, a foul smell of rotten flesh was lingering in the air along with the smell of dried blood.

Suddenly, I heard Liam's voice from behind. His eyes were red like I and tears were rolling down from his both eyes. Yet, he mumbled in a wobbly tone while sobbing, "Milady, come with me. Grand Luna is no more."

I felt like the world disappeared under my feet. My vision started darkening in front of my eyes. Yet, while staggering I followed Liam to the room of Granny. The door was already opened and in front of the door, I saw two lifeless dead bodies of two guards.

But, the scene inside the room scared me the most. I found in a light orange dress as usual like as always, lying on the bed but the bed was shocked in red blood and Granny was lying lifeless on it, while a silver dragged was stabbed in her belly.

I couldn't suppress my emotions anymore. I sat on the ground while weeping loudly.
