Chapter 36: Chapter 36
Hazel,
The moment, I saw that we were encircled by almost ten wolves, I thought about two ways of surviving, firstly, I could stop the time and run away myself leaving both Liam and Galaxy behind as they were too far away to touch me, so they would stop like the others when I would stop the time. If I decided to leave them behind there was no chance of their survival. So, I decided to face them and help Liam and Galaxy, as I couldn't imagine being such a fish. I was thinking, 'if I use my power now all will know about my true identity. I am not even sure I will be able to control my power." an inner conflict for some unknown reason, might be I was very nervous at that moment. I couldn't decide what to do where on the other side both Liam and Galaxy were injured and their blood turned the snow-covered roads into deep crimson and I saw two wolves already shifted in their human form, were coming towards me.
The moment when I saw a wolf bit Liam's neck from behind with his sharp canines and blood started dripping from his neck, I instinctively raised my right hands towards the wolf, and immediately a gust of fire flew towards the wolf, emerging from my body. The wolf instantly fell on the ground and the red flame of the fire burnt him alive in a blink of an eye. I couldn't imagine, it would be that easy. A foul smell of burnt flesh and blood filled the air instantly. Everyone was stunned and was looking at me astonishingly with their curious eyes. But I didn't bother about their gaze and raised both of my hands started attacking the rest of the rogue wolves. I didn't want to spare a single wolf as sparing their lives only meant revealing my identities to our enemies. So I didn't cost any mistake. At that moment, my body was burning again and my hair turned fiery red. My eyes were burning like flames and I felt that my all energy was sucked by those flames of fire. There were only a few wolves left and Liam and Galaxy both started fighting again, suppressing their astonishment. I thought, 'my powers are quite interesting, I can kill anyone without even moving an inch. I only need to raise my hand and have to drag the energy from my body. Though it is extremely tiresome I will not get any wound at least.'
I burnt two more wolves alive, in a blink of an eye when the surroundings were almost clear, I couldn't stand anymore as I started feeling extremely light-headed and weak. My vision started blurring and I felt dizzy. I fell on the ground and immediately I saw the familiar face of Galaxy in front of me, she grabbed my hands, pulled my head on her lap, and said in a tense voice, "Milady, Are you alright? Please look at me, just wait for a little, I have already called for backups." There was no fear in her eyes, she was also injured badly, and her whole body was soaked in blood but without caring about herself she was thinking about me. I slowly mumbled, "Don't say anything to Xander or others, I- I want to tell myself." I couldn't talk anymore as I started feeling sleepy, there was no pain only dizziness as if I didn't sleep for a month. I heard the faint assuring voice of Liam, "Don't worry, Milady. We are not going to say anything to anyone. You just hold on a little." I could only stare at him for once before fainting. His condition was no better than Galaxy but they both were thinking about me.
I couldn't remember what happened then, except darkness.
When I opened my eyes again, I blinked several times because of the bright light in the room. I saw a room that looked like a hospital ward but more luxurious than an ordinary one painted in bright white color. There were numerous equipment and medicines beside me and I was covered with a white blanket, while dressed in hospital wear. I was feeling a little tired only so I sat on the bed leaning against the pillow behind my back and saw Rebeca, sitting exactly beside the chair next to my bed. I was startled seeing her all of a sudden and asked, "What are you doing here?" She with her usual smile replied, "I have just come to see you. So how are you feeling now?" "I am fine," I replied and asked in curiosity, "Why did I faint? Did I do something wrong?" "No, no it's alright. It was just your first time using your power that's why. You are a neophyte so don't forget to practice for perfection," she assured me. I replied immediately, "Umm-hmm I think I need more practice. So how have you-" Cutting me in the middle, she hastily mumbled, "No time to talk anymore. Will meet you soon dear. Don't forget to ask Xander about your attackers and don't reveal anything about your identity until you become an expert." Without giving me any chance to ask anything more, she vanished in the thin air as if there was no one and she was just a dream.
Instantly I heard the sound of the doorknob. Turning my head towards the door I saw the familiar tall muscular man appear in front of me. He had a worried and tired expression on his face. He dashed into the room like a storm but when Xander saw that I was awake and alright, his expression immediately softened. He sat beside me on the bed and gently caressed my cheek with his fingers, looking straight into my eyes. He apologized in his low husky tone, "Sorry, Hazel. I swear I am not going to leave you alone again. I am so sorry."
