Chapter 12: Chapter 12

"Sir, I don't think Ms. Miller would appreciate this move." Falcon voiced out in a quiet voice as he stared at the paper in front of him.

September don't know what to make of the marriage certificate in front of him. It was sent by Mr. Smith, Maeve's father. The document was sent via a courier so Falcon had no idea what it was not until it had reached September's hands.

"It wasn't me." September denied when he realized the doubting stares his butler was giving him.

"It's really not me!" He defended once again when Falcon's suspicious eyes only showed a stronger dubiousness.

Falcon had to think and analyze him twice before he was able to believe his words.

The butler sighed before taking the marriage certificate into his hands, checking for any mistakes or errors that may render the document ineffective.

"I had known you for years and yet I actually doubted that you were behind this. What do you think Ms. Miller would think if she would know of this?" He asked while looking at the problematic state of his boss.

He had never seen his boss as problematic as this. No matter how difficult a situation was, September always had a calm composition. But guess that had change now.

"I don't know!" September said almost growling in frustration. He would surely lost all the brownie points he had gained earlier. Just when things are getting better between them, her idiotic father just have to get in between!

"You're steps ahead in game as of now, Sir. But I'm pretty sure it would be like going back to square one when she sees this." Falcon shook his head too. He was also in a dilemma about the situation.

"But how did they even got your signatures?" September's head rose up when he heard the butler's question. Going from the confused face of his butler, his eyes fell on the document that now binds Maeve to him. His signature was really there.

His eyes darkened with the thought of someone being able to copy his signature. Who even dared to do so?

"Investigate this matter, Falcon." He ordered as he passed the document to his butler who immediately took it before leaving him alone inside the office, wracking his brains out about how he should break this news with Maeve.

While September was stressing over the fact that he and Maeve got married without them knowing, Maeve was still oblivious about it.

She's just on the way home after a tiring day at work when Hillary called her.

"I'm not sure what hit Dad's head this time, but we're here on your apartment and I'm struggling to bring back your things when he was so adamant to pack it up! What the hell's going on, Maeve?!" Maeve almost hit the breaks when she heard what her sister said.

"What did you say?" She asked after she parked her car by the side of the road so that she can talk to Hillary properly.

"What were you doing in my apartment?!"

"I don't know! I slept at the mansion yesterday and he just woke me up saying that he needs my help with something! Imagine my horror when I realized were outside your apartment!" Maeve squeezed her eyes shut.

Her father's really losing it.

"Alright. Please hold him off until I arrive. I'm already on my way." She said before she finally hang up and speed her way to her apartment.

"What the hell is going on?!" Maeve's voice boomed inside the apartment when she arrived. Her eyes darted to his father who was currently on a game of tug with her sister with her clothes acting like the rope.

Hillary immediately took their father's surprise to her advantage and immediately took her sister's clothes away from his hands.

"Maeve!" Mason Smith's overly endearing voice made both of his daughters cringe.

"Cut the crap. What do you think you're doing?" Maeve butted in, not even trying to mask the irritation in her voice.

"I need to send your things to your husband's home!" Maeve and Hillary's eyes met with the mention of the word 'husband'. They only have one name on their minds.

September.

The cold wind had already engulfed the whole city. The stars were nowhere to be found tonight as if afraid of what type of disaster they might be witnessing.

"Calm down, Maeve. You can talk it out like adults in a calm---"

"Shut up." Maeve hissed, making her sister shut up and just silently held onto her safety belts tightly.

Maeve was driving in a speed that Hillary started to formulate her death wishes. When they finally stopped outside September Thorne's mansion, she sighed loudly in relief. Silently thanking all the gods and saints she can recall for letting her live through that ride.

Maeve furiously left her car and walked towards the large gate of the mansion. She was immediately stopped by two huge guards who each held a large guard dog who kept on barking at her.

"Where's September?" She asked in a low voice while Hillary never stopped trying to coax her sister into having a proper talk with the great manipulator.

The two guards looked at each other. This is not a new scene for them. Women usually come here to try and seduce their boss but can't even passed through the mansion's gate. Some were the people that September had been dealing with that came either to beg or show fury but again, nobody can get through those huge gates that was guarded by two scary looking guards and huge guard dogs.

"Nice try, Missy. But you can't just talk like that---"

"Call that freaking manipulator and let him face me!" The guards were huge men. But they somehow felt a tinge of fear after hearing that cold voice.

"Oh my God! Maeve, please calm down!" Hillary said in a panicky manner.

"What are you waiting for? Call him and tell him that his Mrs. Thorne is outside his mansion!" The two guards then relaxed after hearing those words. Who would believe that? September never had any woman before. Who would believe a woman who suddenly came and claimed the title of being his wife.

"Missy, I hope you stop--"

"Open the gates." Both of the guards almost jumped when they suddenly heard Falcon's voice behind them.

"I'm sorry for their rude welcome, Mrs. Thorne." The eyes of the two guards went as wide as saucers after hearing the respect from the butler's voice and the way he addressed the woman. And then their eyes flew back to the infuriated woman.

This is really Mrs. Thorne?!
