●Daniel's P.O.V.●

After taking Nuri to a new hotel, I took my leave. She asked me to come inside her hotel room, but I let her down because I didn't want to make her uncomfortable right after the man followed her. I was a stranger too. Hence, I took my leave and came back home.

As I opened my door lock, all the bad things that happened to me today enwrapped my mind again. I missed my opportunity, and I needed to complete "Yoonah's" work the next day.

"Ughh!!" I sighed.

I laid back on the couch when I got a text from Nuri. I remembered she took my number before I left the hotel. Suddenly all the tension evaporated in a second. I smiled, staring at her profile pic in Makao talk.

She asked if she should report to the police. That stupid girl! She was a foreigner. She shouldn't involve herself in those things. I texted her exactly what I thought.

After some time, I got a text back saying, "Thank You."

I smiled at her reply. But she needed some teasing. So I replied with, "Human Traffickers can be good, I guess."

"Sometimes"

I was 200% sure she was embarrassed by my text, but she deserved it. I laughed so hard, lying on the couch.

I forgot about the bad things that happened today. Nuri was surely my energy charger.

I kept giggling, laughing, thinking about her all day. When I ate dinner or brushed my teeth, all I could remember was her stupidity and Her.

The Next day, I woke up at my usual time with my alarm. The first work in the morning for me usually was taking a glass of water. But today, when I woke up, I checked my phone to see if Nuri had messaged or not. I opened my Makao talk with a smiley face and blurry vision. But no, there was nothing. My face went back to sadness again. I threw the phone into the bed.

" Chinja?!"

"Aaiiishh! Bad phone!"

I closed the washroom door with a loud sound behind me.

After making my breakfast and finishing it by 8 a.m., I was ready to go to the office. I wore my black shirt with black trousers, my favorite watch and a black tie. Before going out, I checked myself in the mirror.

"Does Nuri like black ?"

"If she doesn't, she will still like me in black. I look so handsome today."

I brushed my hair for the last time and went out for the office. I planned to buy a new car soon, so I didn't have to travel by cab or bus anymore.

I took a bus to my office and arrived at the correct time. I was in a pleased mood today. As I almost pushed the cabin door, I heard my two co-workers talking.

"You heard, Yoonah replaced Daniel ?" I heard Ted saying.

"Yeah, I did.

Don't you think Yoonah is deliberately snatching Daniel's works ?" Jee-Hyun replied.

"I heard Yoonah is Daniel's ex. They broke up badly, and she is now avenging Daniel." -Ted.

"Oh! So that's the actual tea. I heard they planned Daniel's replacement long before going to Tokyo." - Jee Hyun.

"Chinja?!" - Ted.

"Aw. I heard Yoonah and Boss talking about replacing Daniel in some other way." - Jee-Hyun.

"But why is the Boss helping Yoonah?" - Ted.

"Yah, stupid. Don't you understand the little thing? Boss and Yoonah are having an affair." - Jee-Hyun.

"Aw??? That's spicy.

Anyway, I am jealous of Daniel. He was my junior, but he got promoted so fast." - Ted.

"He's a Workaholic. You can't beat him. But Yoonah can." - Jee-Hyun.

"True.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ" - Ted.

"ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ" - Jee-Hyun.

I heard enough. I pushed the door and went inside.

The co-workers became scared because they understood that I heard all. I rolled my eyes, glancing at them, and settled in my cabin.

I was mad.

"They planned it? My replacement, they planned it, but how?" I started thinking about the day before our flight to Tokyo.

We finished the last meeting and went for dinner. Everyone all got drunk, but I didn't drink because I didn't want to be late for my flight the next day anyhow. I took a glass of juice.

"Wait! The juice glass! Yoonah served me a Juice glass.

Did she put something in the juice?"

"Maybe yes! That's why I woke up late yesterday, even after my alarm was working." I rubbed my chin.

"So it was their plan, huh?

She must have put a Sleeping pill in my juice glass. That's why I felt so sleepy after dinner." I hit the desk in anger, "That witch! "

She was the one who cheated on me, and I only broke up with her. But she was being a witch.

"Okay!

I will pay you back, Lee Yoonah! Just wait!" I mumbled.

I loosened my tie and laid back on my comfortable chair. Suddenly A co-worker came to my desk.

"Daniel! Boss told me to give you this file to complete it."

I nodded.

"There are more! I am bringing all of them after lunch. Is it okay ?" He asked, being a little scared as my face was red because of anger.

I controlled my anger for a bit and nodded again, forcing a smile. He left. No, no, ran away after watching my smile. I wondered why.

I sighed heavily. Then I opened the file, cursing Yoonah and the jerk boss a whole lot.

I was midway in my work when my phone buzzed inside my pocket. I was furious because I didn't like disturbance when I worked.

Especially when I was completing a witch's work.

I pulled out my phone from my trouser pocket. A smile appeared on my lips As I saw the name Nuri on my phone screen. I stopped working and received the call with excitement.

"Hello"

"Hello, Daniel." I could sense fear in her voice.

"Yeah. It is Daniel. What happened, Nuri? Are you fine?" I asked, being worried.

"The kidnap- The Kidnapper found me, Daniel!" her voice was shaking.

"What ?!" I yelled as I was shocked.

How did he find her?

"Yeah.

The Kidnapper who was trying to catch me yesterday is standing in front of my hotel building. And he is staring straight at the building." She said while stuttering.

"Daniel, I am scared," Nuri added, almost crying.

"Nuri. Don't worry. I am coming in 15 minutes."
